🎼14 April 1945. A true Heavy⚡️Metal day definetly deserves to be concluded with an absolute guitar 🎸 king 🤴 Happy Birthday🥳🍾to his majesty Ritchie Blackmore, aka The Man in Black, born Richard Hugh Blackmore in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England.
Simply one of the best living guitarist and one of the few masters of hard rock riffs, for sure one of the most influential for the entire rock scene. Founder and #guitarist of Deep Purple from 1968 to 1975, then Rainbow from 1975 onwards and later Blackmore's Night (a traditional folk project together with his wife Candice Night), he wrote uncountable songs and hits throughout 4 decades.
It's really impossible for me to choose a representative song to celebrate #RitchieBlackmore 🎂, Smoke on the Water of course sounds good in every occasion😊, but I prefer to share this heavenly 😳❤️🙏🏻 live performance back in the 70s with an amazing Ronnie James Dio on vocals... maybe the most perfect duo ever for the genre, they make me shiver every time! 🤟👏

45 years ago Rainbow, formed between London #UK and Los Angeles #USA, by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, released their 3rd studio album.
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is #Rainbow last album to feature original vocalist R.J. DIO and was recorded, like many great albums in the 1970s, at The Strawberry Studio, Château d'Hérouville, France.
It's widely considered one of the best albums of the band and is also notable for the epic fail regarding the gatefold sleeve: as you can see in the picture☝️it was taken from a photo of a Rush concert and the "illustrators" simply reversed it and substituted the banner wordings 🙈
