🎼29 May 1991. It's 30 years today that Warrior Soul released their second album Drugs, God and The New Republic.
With this album the American band had its breakthrough within the heavy metal / alternative rock scene, which will lead to their masterpiece and best selling album in 1992 (I will celebrate it next year 😉) and to tour the world as supporting act for #Metallica first, and in the major rock festivals later🔝👍
But #WarriorSoul were also soon noticed for their harsh criticism of the "American Way" and social unrest: in following years this would cost them a ban from the mainstream music business and a ban from USA for their leader #KoryClarke 😳
I personally met the guy many times, he often comes to #Italy and when he does he never misses a visit in Venice 😃🤟
... and we rock'n'roll 😈

📀 Salutations from the Ghetto Nation
#HeavyMetal #PunkMetal #AlternativeMetal
30 years ago Warrior Soul from New York City, #USA released their 3rd studio album entitled Salutations from the Ghetto Nation.
The album title tells everything about the lyrics, harsh political and social criticism for the USA and the American Way in general. This album is widely considered the best in #WarriorSoul discography, at the time they were at the peak of their career having toured in support of the biggest Heavy Metal bands.
This is also the last Warrior Soul album through a major label (Geffen), the band was in fact against music business rules and this caused them a ban from that in the following years.
Masterpiece of rage!
Warrior Soul in this album:
#KoryClarke – vocals, producer
#JohnRicco – guitar
#PeteMcClanahan – bass
#MarkEvans – drums

📀 The Space Age Playboys
#HeavyMetal #HardRock #PunkMetal
30 years ago Warrior Soul from New York City, #USA released their 5th studio album.
The Space Age Playboys is #WarriorSoul final album in the 1990s before the band's hiatus.
After hearing this, Lars Ulrich of Metallica invited Warrior Soul to open for them at Donington, UK (at the time the biggest Heavy Metal Festival), even if the leader Kory Clarke was already at war with music business.
This album is a slap in the face from start to finish, one of my all time favorite in the genre and today my LP plays loud in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️🤘🔥
In this album:
#KoryClarke - vocals
#PeteMcClanahan - bass, vocals
#AlexanderArundel aka Gene Poole aka X-Factor - guitar, vocals
#ScottDuboys - drums
