🎼9 January 1957. Happy 65th Birthday 🥳🍾 to #vocalist Phil Lewis, born Philip Francis Lewis in London, England, who spent his lifetime in Los Angeles, California to become a protagonist of the local Hard Rock / Street Rock scene.
After years in minor bands in Spring 1987 he received a phone call by guitarist Tracii Guns, who founded #GunsnRoses with Axl Rose 2 years earlier and now was looking for a singer for his new band: L.A. Guns. That's what happened and #PhilLewis fronted #LAGuns for 35 years to date 🤟
Here's a video of one of their most recent live appearances in #Italy👇, they also came here in Venice that year for an epic concert at Teatro Aurora in #Marghera, 10 minutes drive from #VeniceRocksRoom... needless to say I was there ❤️🔥

35 years ago L.A. Guns from Los Angeles, #USA released their self-titled debut studio album.
L.A.Guns had poor commercial response, despite its distinctive rough "street metal" sound and the presence of founder and wonderful guitarist Tracii Guns, one of the crucial figures in the L.A. Glam Metal scene of the time (he actually co-founded with Axl Rose #GunsnRoses, where "Guns" stayed for Tracii and "Roses" for Axl).
This album is the only #LAGuns release to feature drummer Nickey "Beat" Alexander, who was replaced by #SteveRiley soon after recordings and does not even appear in the album back cover (📸 see my album copy in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️)
One of my favorite of that era!
