🎼12 November 1971. 50 years ago Genesis released their 3rd studio album Nursery Cryme. It's a gem of Progressive Rock and it's their first album with 2 new members who would become 2 rock giants 🤟: I'm talking about #guitarist 🎸 Steve Hackett and #drummer 🥁Phil Collins, who few years later would become the band's #vocalist🎙in substitution of the departed #PeterGabriel (another giant, is him? 😉).
The opening track of this album is called The Musical Box👇 which IMHO is one of the highest peaks in contemporary music! 😳🔝

🎼23 November 1981. 40 years ago AC⚡️DC release their eighth studio album, the second with new #vocalist and frontman #BrianJohnson, entitled For Those About to Rock We Salute You. Of course typical #ACDC sound, this album includes one of the band's most popular trademark classic: the titletrack, which from then would become the final song in all their concerts... like in this one👇
Enjoy 🤟🎸😈🔥

🎼6 December 1980. After months of rehearsals in Via de' Bardi in #Florence, #Italy, a local rock new wave post-punk band with Mediterranean vibes was ready for their first live appearance: the concert was held in a nearby small town, Settignano, in a place which was more similar to a room than a venue, at the local "Casa del Popolo". More than 200 rockers from Florence gathered that night and the young musicians (all in their 18eens) realized they could carry on as a band which they named Litfiba 🤟❤️‍🔥
#Litfiba soon became a cult band with a distinctive sound and harsh political lyrics, respected and acclaimed all over Europe despite their singing only in Italian, surely also due to the charismatic presence of #vocalist Piero Pelù.
In 1989 three original members left the band and Litfiba completely changed their sound to a more commercially succesful rock/hard rock, thus becoming the most famous Italian rock band.
In the Chat Room👇 early Litfiba, sounds totally different from today's #TheMondayRecharger☝️😈

🎼9 January 1957. Happy 65th Birthday 🥳🍾 to #vocalist Phil Lewis, born Philip Francis Lewis in London, England, who spent his lifetime in Los Angeles, California to become a protagonist of the local Hard Rock / Street Rock scene.
After years in minor bands in Spring 1987 he received a phone call by guitarist Tracii Guns, who founded #GunsnRoses with Axl Rose 2 years earlier and now was looking for a singer for his new band: L.A. Guns. That's what happened and #PhilLewis fronted #LAGuns for 35 years to date 🤟
Here's a video of one of their most recent live appearances in #Italy👇, they also came here in Venice that year for an epic concert at Teatro Aurora in #Marghera, 10 minutes drive from #VeniceRocksRoom... needless to say I was there ❤️‍🔥

🎼19 January 1947. Rod Evans would be 75 today... but nobody knows whether he's still alive 😳
I've always been fascinated by this kind of Rock Stories: famous musicians who suddenly retire from the scenes and completely disappear!
#RodEvans was the first #vocalist of Deep Purple in 1968. After recording the first 3 albums, #DeepPurple substituted him with #IanGillan, who they considered more rock oriented.

Rod went on to form #CaptainBeyond who released a couple of great Hard Rock albums 🤟
In late 1970s Rod was approached by a questionable management company who convinced him to tour with former #Steppenwolf musicians under the name of Deep Purple 🤦‍♂
A lawsuit followed and the real Deep Purple easily won the controversy: Rod Evans lost all royalties for being an original member, after that he completely disappeared!
Deep Purple members attempted to contact him in following years just to say hallo, but without success and still today after more than 40 years, they don't know anything about Rod 🤷‍♂

#EricMartin, #MrBig #vocalist, live in Venice last night

As far as we know this is the longest note ever held in Rock & Pop history... without "external" aid!
And to me it's not a surprise since #MortenHarket is an absolute master #vocalist 🎙👏 #Aha 🇳🇴

Alice In Chains
📀 Jar Of Flies
#Grunge #AlternativeRock #AcousticRock

30 years ago Alice In Chains from Seattle, #USA, released their 3rd overall and 2nd acoustic EP (my cassette in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️).

It's difficult for me to attribute a music genre to this work, probably since Jar Of Flies is one of my all time favorites❤️‍🔥
The highest peak in #AliceInChains discography IMHO with #vocalist Layne Staley and #guitarist, primary songwriter Jerry Cantrell at unbelievable levels.

Every song is a gem that closes and encloses those unrepeatable years for Rock music. Perfection🤘
