πΌ14 May 196... Happy Birthday π₯³πΎ to Mr. Alex Masi, born and raised in Venice, living in Los Angeles since 1987, simply one of the best #guitarist in the worldππΈ
He started here in Venice in early 80s when he put up with friends a seminal Heavyβ‘οΈMetal Band, #DarkLord.
He was soon noticed for his guitar skills and moved to #LosAngeles where he first became a protagonist in the city's hair metal scene with his own band #Masi.
After his 1989 highly praised and Best Rock Instrumental Grammy nominated first solo album, Alex became a true Guitar Hero! He developed his mastery on the following decades embracing all music genres, from Neo Classical to Fusion, always keeping his original Heavy Metal background and attitude alive πΈπͺπ₯
In the pictureβοΈ#AlexMasi with my guest Kira, we met him a couple of years ago here in Venice, on the π Secret Island. They both live in #California and they met here: it's a small world ππ
I post in the Chat Roomπ some crazy Masi stuff, enjoy! π€ #VeniceMusic #14May #myguests

Megadeth
π Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!
#ThrashMetal #SpeedMetal
40 years ago Megadeth from Los Angeles, #USA, released their debut studio album.
Killing Is My Business is unanimously considered essential for establishing Thrash Metal as a stand-alone subgenre.
The track "Mechanix" was written by leader Dave Mustaine who performed it with Metallica in early 1980s. Controversies arose since Metallica reworked the song, entitled it "The Four Horsemen" and included it in π their debut album.
Further controversies for the cover of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" written by #LeeHazlewood and recorded by #NancySinatra. #Megadeth changed the song words and Hazlewood would persecute them for years.
This legendary album hits hard today in #VeniceRocksRoomπ€
In this album:
#DaveMustaine β vocals, guitar, piano
#DavidEllefson β bass, backing vocals
#ChrisPoland β guitar
#GarSamuelson β drums, timpani
