🎼14 May 196... Happy Birthday 🥳🍾 to Mr. Alex Masi, born and raised in Venice, living in Los Angeles since 1987, simply one of the best #guitarist in the world🔝🎸
He started here in Venice in early 80s when he put up with friends a seminal Heavy⚡️Metal Band, #DarkLord.
He was soon noticed for his guitar skills and moved to #LosAngeles where he first became a protagonist in the city's hair metal scene with his own band #Masi.
After his 1989 highly praised and Best Rock Instrumental Grammy nominated first solo album, Alex became a true Guitar Hero! He developed his mastery on the following decades embracing all music genres, from Neo Classical to Fusion, always keeping his original Heavy Metal background and attitude alive 🎸💪🔥
In the picture☝️#AlexMasi with my guest Kira, we met him a couple of years ago here in Venice, on the 👉 Secret Island. They both live in #California and they met here: it's a small world 😉😃
I post in the Chat Room👇 some crazy Masi stuff, enjoy! 🤟 #VeniceMusic #14May #myguests

🤘Dark Lord
40 years ago a #HeavyMetal rocket landed in #Venice!
A local band called Dark Lord released a self-titled EP of 4 songs taken from its 1982 demotape.
#DarkLord share the throne of first official Heavy Metal release in #Italy with
👉 Vanadium and 👉 Vanexa and the band itself is one of the earliest #ItalianMetal acts.
Dark Lord was founded in Venice #Mestre by bassist Paolo Muffato, vocalist Gable Nalesso, drummer (later vocalist) 👉 Sandro "Red" Bertoldini and guitarist extraordinaire 👉 Alex Masi (who later became one of the most appreciated guitar heroes in the world!) 🎸
At that time in Italy it was very hard, if not impossible, to get a recording deal for anyone who played this new genre called Heavy⚡️Metal!
Dark Lord were helped by
👉 Aldo Tagliapietra of #LeOrme: they could use his studio to rehearse and record and they managed to get a distribution deal with legendary Gothic, Dark, New Wave record company Contempo Records in #Florence.

📀 It's Nigh' Time
#HeavyMetal
35 years ago, in an undocumented date, Dark Lord from #Venice, #Italy released their 1st and only full-lenght album (their previous releases were demos and EPs).
After important line-up changes in the years, #DarkLord seemed to have finally reached a stable formation, with guitarist Alex De Rosso replacing 👉 Alex Masi and a fantastic vocalist like Emanuell Jandee from #Belluno, #Dolomites.
But tragedy was around the corner for this unlucky band: Jandee collapsed on stage during a concert and passed away few days later due to a sudden illness aged 27 (another "member" of the infamous club).
Dark Lord disbanded afterwards.
In this album:
#EmanuellJandee - vocals
#AlexDeRosso - guitar, backing vocals
Sandro #RedBertoldini - drums
#PaoloMuffato - bass, backing vocals
#ItalianMetal #Venicemusic

30 years ago Alex Masi from #Venice and Alex De Rosso from #Padua, #Italy released their solo albums (3rd for Masi, debut for De Rosso).
These 2 wonderful guitarists probably had never met at the time (Masi living in Los Angeles and De Rosso in Padua) but they share a membership in the same Venetian band: 👉 Dark Lord !
De Rosso in fact replaced Masi after the latter moved to Los Angeles, and appears in #DarkLord 👉 1988 album.
Same name, same region, same release date and a past in the same band, crazy🤘
