🎼10 April 1989. Sonic Temple is released. Hard Rock ⚡️ Heavy Metal ⚡️ Glam Metal at the highest levels in this fantastic album by The Cult. Super production (Bob Rock!), super promotion, change of sound and best selling for a group that until then, as its name suggests, was more of a... cult band 🤟😈
Singles such as Fire Woman, Sweet Soul Sister, Edie (Ciao Baby), Sun King were in 1989 charts all over the world, introducing #TheCult into the "Rock Temple".
I chose here my favorite song from Sonic Temple, Soul Asylum, with #vocalist Ian Astbury 🎙 and #guitarist Billy Duffy 🎸at their 🔝 👍🔥

35 years ago The Cult from Bradford, #UK, released their 4th studio album.
Sonic Temple marked #TheCult definitive international breakthrough: the sound was heavier and fresh thanks to the production of #BobRock, the band's members imagery changed from the 1980s Gothic Glam style into a native American outfit, lyrics were now often about American Indians too.
The album was The Cult biggest commercial success and my cassette☝️still plays loud in #VeniceRocksRoom🤘❤️🔥
In this album:
#IanAstbury – vocals, percussion
#BillyDuffy – guitar
#JamieStewart – bass, keyboards
Additional personnel
#EricSinger - drums during first demo version
#ChrisTaylor - drums during second demo version
#MickeyCurry – drums
#IggyPop – backing vocals on "New York City"
#JohnWebster – keyboards
#BobBuckley – string arrangement
