🎼6 May 1991. It's 30 years 😳 since Say Hallo 2 Heaven came out. It was the second single extracted from Temple of The Dog eponymous album which was released 1 month before.
#TempleOfTheDog is in my opinion one of the best albums of that incredible era, which I strongly recommend!!!
The band was a once in a lifetime project and was formed by Soundgarden and later Pearl Jam members.
The Grunge movement and the Seattle Sound were about to explode 🧨 all over the world in few months. Bands such as #AliceinChains, #Soundgarden, #Nirvana were already around for some years and in some months Nirvana and #PearlJam would release their best selling albums "Nevermind" and "Ten" respectively, thus dragging into world charts the entire Seattle rock scene.
Say Hallo 2 Heaven is a song written in November 1990 by Chris Cornell for his room mate #AndrewWood who died of heroin overdose🤷‍♂️ in March 1990. Andrew was the singer of Seattle rock band Mother Love Bone, Jeff Ament and Steve Gossard (who later will found Pearl Jam along with Eddie Vedder) were Andrew Wood's band mates.
I post a fantastic live performance of the song with #vocalist #ChrisCornell at his peak... and what an atmosphere 🙏🏻
Those were the days and (sometimes) they are incredibly missed ! 🤟🎸 #6May

"We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight, and yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

My gift of self is raped
My privacy is raked
And yet I find, and yet I find
Repeating in my head
If I can't be my own
I'd feel better dead"

30 years ago Alice In Chains from Seattle, #USA, released their 3rd overall and 2nd acoustic EP (my cassette in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️).

It's difficult for me to attribute a music genre to this work, probably since Jar Of Flies is one of my all time favorites❤️‍🔥
The highest peak in #AliceInChains discography IMHO with #vocalist Layne Staley and #guitarist, primary songwriter Jerry Cantrell at unbelievable levels.

Every song is a gem that closes and encloses those unrepeatable years for Rock music. Perfection🤘

I want to show you something, like joy inside my heart
Seems I been living in the
👉 Temple Of The Dog
Where would I live if I were a man of golden words
Or would I live at all

Words and music - my only tools
Communication
So on her arrival I will set free the birds
Its a pretty time of year, the mountains sing aloud
Tell me Mr golden words hows bout the world
Tell me, can you tell me at all

Words and music - my only tools
Communication
Lets fall in love with music
The driving force in our living
The only international language
Divine glory, the expression
The knees bow the tongue
Confesses
The lord of lords, the king of kings

Words and music - my only tools
Communication
