🎼20 March 1976. Chester Bennington, founder, leader, singer and songwriter of Linkin Park was born in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. He would be 45 today but on July 20, 2017 something went wrong in his mind 🤷‍♂️. "I can't imagine a world without you in it" he said only 2 months before, about his friend #ChrisCornell death, and he took his own life the day on what would have been Chris' 53rd birthday.
I have to say I never liked #LinkinPark so much (I totally loved #Soundgarden instead), but they were such a "big thing" in early 2000's, that I went to their concert here in Venice San Giuliano Park in Summer 2008 and I really enjoyed it a lot 🤟👍 #ChesterBennington was undoubtedly a huge talented #vocalist!
Here's a rare video of him and Mike Shinoda in Venice early that day... if you watch it all, at some point you can see Chester not being very lucky in his pizza choice in town 🙈... unfortunately at the time I wasn't around with my Local Food Tours for Rockers 😊😉
If you have any favorite Linkin Park song you would like to post... do it as usual in the Chat Room 👇 I'll post a rough video of the concert that night in Venice! #20March

🎼6 May 1991. It's 30 years 😳 since Say Hallo 2 Heaven came out. It was the second single extracted from Temple of The Dog eponymous album which was released 1 month before.
#TempleOfTheDog is in my opinion one of the best albums of that incredible era, which I strongly recommend!!!
The band was a once in a lifetime project and was formed by Soundgarden and later Pearl Jam members.
The Grunge movement and the Seattle Sound were about to explode 🧨 all over the world in few months. Bands such as #AliceinChains, #Soundgarden, #Nirvana were already around for some years and in some months Nirvana and #PearlJam would release their best selling albums "Nevermind" and "Ten" respectively, thus dragging into world charts the entire Seattle rock scene.
Say Hallo 2 Heaven is a song written in November 1990 by Chris Cornell for his room mate #AndrewWood who died of heroin overdose🤷‍♂️ in March 1990. Andrew was the singer of Seattle rock band Mother Love Bone, Jeff Ament and Steve Gossard (who later will found Pearl Jam along with Eddie Vedder) were Andrew Wood's band mates.
I post a fantastic live performance of the song with #vocalist #ChrisCornell at his peak... and what an atmosphere 🙏🏻
Those were the days and (sometimes) they are incredibly missed ! 🤟🎸 #6May

🎼21 May 1996. Down on the Upside is released, 25 years ago. It's the last album by Soundgaren before disbanding. They will reunite in 2010 but the magic of the 90s... was lost 🤷‍♂
Though in my opinion this was far from being one of their best works, there were still some great numbers... like this Beatles reminiscent Blow Up The Outside World 🤘🔝
As always if you have any song you like from this album you can post it in the Chat Room👇😃

Soundgarden
📀 Down On The Upside
#AlternativeRock #HardRock #Grunge

30 years ago Soundgarden from Seattle, #USA released their 5th studio album.

Down On The Upside is the last Soundgarden album before breaking up.
The band in fact split in 1997 after completing the world tour to reunite only in 2010.

This album is generally regarded as a low point in #Soundgarden discography, too long and "experimental" as compared to their previous works.

I've always considered this album at the same level of
👉 Superunknown instead, totally love it ❤️‍🔥

In this album:
#ChrisCornell – vocals, rhythm guitar, mandolin, mandola, Rhodes piano
#KimThayil – guitar
#BenShepherd – bass, mandolin, mandola
#MattCameron – drums, percussion, Moog synthesizer

Additional musician
#AdamKasper – piano
