🎼26 December 1963. Happy Birthday 🥳🍾 to Lars Ulrich, born in Gentofte, Denmark, emigrated to California USA aged 16, to become a professional tennis player 🎾 😳
He became one of the most famous Heavy⚡️Metal #drummer 🥁 in history instead, after #JamesHetfield replied to his magazine announcement to form a rock band in Los Angeles: the both soon founded #Metallica, it happened 40 years ago in 1981 🤟😈

🎼16 March 1962. Happy 60th Birthday to this guy called Ron Quintana from San Francisco, California.
He well deserves a space in the #RockMoments.
He was a radio dj in early 1980s, specialized in promoting newly formed Heavy⚡️Metal bands. He was also a tape trader, like many in those years exchanging MCs or #Cassettes with fellow Metalheads.
One of these Metal crazies 😈 was a dude called Lars Ulrich, who in 1981 used to hang out with #RonQuintana.
When Quintana decided to found a Heavy Metal magazine he asked #LarsUlrich: "Shall I name it Metal Mania or Metallica?" Lars replied: "Metal Mania, I'll take Metallica name for my band!" 🤘🔥

📀 ...And Justice For All
#ThrashMetal
35 years ago Metallica from San Francisco, #USA released their 4th studio album (my original MC in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️).
...And Justice For All is #Metallica first album with bassist Jason Newsted who replaced Cliff Burton after his tragic death.
Burton has songwriting credit in the #ProgressiveMetal instrumental "To Live Is To Die", James Hetfield spoken word on this track is also attributed to him.
...And Justice For All became soon Metallica's best selling album at the time.
Still today my favorite Metallica !!! 🤘❤️🔥
In this album:
#JamesHetfield – vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, second guitar solo on "To Live is to Die", production
#KirkHammett – lead guitar
#JasonNewsted – bass
#LarsUlrich – drums, production

📀 Ride The Lightning
#ThrashMetal
40 years ago Metallica from San Francisco, #USA, released their 2nd studio album.
Ride The Lightning is the last album to feature songwriting contribution by former guitarist Dave Mustaine and the first to feature Kirk Hammet's one.
As often happened in #Metallica career, the album was critically praised and acclaimed and at the same time criticized by early fans for being too slow as compared to their 👉 previous work.
Another landmark album for the entire 1980s Heavy Metal scene🤘❤️🔥
In this album:
#JamesHetfield – lead vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar
#KirkHammett – lead guitar, backing vocals
#CliffBurton – bass, backing vocals
#LarsUlrich – drums, percussion, backing vocals, anvil
