๐ŸŽธ Rock History on Weekend

When you dad is out and you dare to touch his historical 45 RPM collection of #ElvisPresley for a quick ๐Ÿ“ธ... hidden treasures really!

Among these gems there's the best selling Elvis single ever!!! Do you know which one?
๐Ÿ‘‰ It's Now or Never, a stunning rendition of the most famous song from #Naples (written in 1898 ๐Ÿ˜ณ) ... the very first song everyone in the world sings when thinking about #Italy: 'O Sole Mio โ˜€๏ธ

Isn't that amazing? ๐Ÿ˜ƒโค๏ธ

Osanna
๐Ÿ“€ Palepoli
#ProgressiveRock #ProgressiveFolk

50 years ago #Osanna from #Naples, released their 3rd studio album, then distributed in 1973, considered the highest point in the band's discography.

One of the earliest concept albums in #Italy, along with the works of ๐Ÿ‘‰ Banco and
๐Ÿ‘‰ Balletto of the same year.
2 suites about Parthenope, the old city (= "Palepoli" in ancient Greek) of Naples, described as a mythological community, opposed to the new Neapolis, symbol of individualism and consumerist society.

In Palepoli Rock and Jazz perfectly mix with Neapolitan Folk sounds.
From minute 9:00 of the suite "Oro Caldo" Heavyโšก๏ธMetal appears for the first time in Italy!

Absolute Timeless Masterpiece โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ

In this album:
#DaniloRustici โ€“ guitars, organ, piano, vocals
#LinoVairetti โ€“ vocals, guitars, ARP 2600, Mellotron
#ElioDAnna โ€“ sax, flute, vocals
#MassimoGuarino โ€“ drums, vibraphone, percussion
#LelloBrandi โ€“ bass

Cervello
๐Ÿ“€ Melos
#ProgressiveRock

50 years ago Cervello from #Naples, #Italy released their debut and only studio album.

Almost ignored at the time, like many short-lived #RPI projects, Melos became regarded in the years as one the highest examples of musical creativity and complexity that identified those magic and unrepeatable early 1970s.

In particular the guitar work of Corrado Rustici (brother of Danilo from ๐Ÿ‘‰ Osanna, who is also this record producer) and the vocals and poetic lyrics of Di Franco (later known in Italy for writing and singing the hit "Kalimba De Luna" along with Tony Esposito) have been highly appreciated.

In this album:
#AntonioSpagnolo โ€“ Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Effects, Recorder, Voice
#RemigioEsposito โ€“ Drums, Vibraphone
#CorradoRustici โ€“ Lead Guitar, Recorder, Flute, Vibraphone, Voice
#GianluigiDiFranco  โ€“ Lead Vocals, Flute, Percussion
#GiulioDAmbrosio โ€“ Saxophone, Flute, Voice
