"You can't be 20
on Sugar Mountain
Though you're thinking that
You're leavin' there too soon"

πŸ“ #NeilYoung (born 12 November 1945), Sugar Mountain
πŸ“Έ #Dolomites, #TreCime
🎼29 December 1971. This song has 50 years!!! Like the other one I post in the Chat RoomπŸ‘‡
Both are contained in the debut album of an (at the time) unknown country rock band from London UK, called America.
It soon became an iconic track, peaking n.1 in the charts and selling millions of copies worldwide... and many at the time thought it was a new #NeilYoung band since they sounded pretty much the same 😁
#America was in fact formed by 3 sons of US Army members based in London, that's why their style and lyrics were highly influenced by overseas music and had nothing to do with contemporary British bands πŸ‘

35 years ago The Mission release The First Chapter, a complilation of the band's early recordings right after #WayneHussey and #CraigAdams left #SistersofMercy. This album immediately follows the band's debut album of 2 months before and contains first singles, cover songs of #NeilYoung and #PattiSmith plus one of my fav #TheMission tracks, Sepent Kiss.
The First Chapter was published in USA some months later with a different cover and as The Mission UK for legal reasons.

I've been a miner for a heart of gold
It's these expressions I never give
That keep me searchin' for a heart of gold"

Type O Negative

#GothicMetal #DoomMetal #GothicRock #EtherealWave

30 years ago Type O Negative from New York, #USA released their 3rd studio album.

October Rust is widely regarded as #TypeONegative masterpiece, made of atmospheric doomy songs, mainly ballads reflecting band leader Peter Steele state of mind at the time: depression, deception, romanticism, heartache, alcoholism, always downplayed with his dark humor.

The album contains a cover of #NeilYoung "Cinnamon Girl".

Gothic at its best πŸ”₯
