⚡️🇮🇱 🇱🇧 ☠️ Assassination of the Hezbollah Leader during an attack on #Beirut - Situation on the Lebanese Israeli Border as of 18:00 on 28 September 2024⚡️
💬 The Press Service of the Israel Defence Forces announced the neutralisation of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. He was killed as a result of another Israeli Air Force 👉 raid on the Lebanese capital.
🔹 Condolences in connection with the death of "His Eminence Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah" were expressed by almost all participants of the so-called "Axis of Resistance" and its allies. These are both Palestinian formations, as well as various factions in #Iraq, #Yemen's Houthis and #Iran.
🔹 At the same time, one of those killed during the strike on Beirut was Iranian Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, commander of the Quds Force from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Republic of #Lebanon. This is confirmed by government media.
🔹Nilforushan himself is known for his participation in several military campaigns, including in #Iraq and #Syria. At the same time, his statement from 2021 is being circulated in the media, when he spoke on state television about #Israel’s weakness and inability to pose any threat to #Iran.
🔹 Meanwhile, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since the beginning of a strike series by the IDF Air Force, the number of casualties has amounted to about 700 dead and 2,600 wounded. Of these, 6 killed and 91 injured were residents of the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital.
🇺🇳 At the same time, the #UN stated that more than 50 thousand Lebanese fled to the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, a total of 200 thousand became internally displaced. Representatives of the international organisation also reported that humanitarian needs have reached unprecedented levels.
🛡Against the background of the events, Hezbollah reported launches at about 10 IDF targets. Nevertheless, such attacks cannot boast of effectiveness. Most of the ammunition is either intercepted by air defence systems or falls in wastelands, often on the territory of #Lebanon itself.
❗️ It is noteworthy that the total number of missiles launched today also remains at a relatively low level, only a few dozen, whereas previously their number could be measured in the hundreds.
💥The killing of the Lebanese group's leader was one of the most effective Israeli strikes as part of the recently launched air operation 'Arrows of the North'. This was preceded by the deaths of other Hezbollah commanders such as Fuad Shukri, Ibrahim Aqil and Ali Karaki.
🇮🇷 Despite the loss of almost all top leadership, most media allied to Hezbollah indicate that the movement as a military-political organisation will not disappear anywhere. Nevertheless, Hassan Nasrallah’s successor cannot be envied against the backdrop of the significant damage the Israelis have inflicted on the group in recent days and their virtual complete dominance in the conflict.
📌 At the same time, everyone is waiting for a response from both Hezbollah itself and Iran. However, what it will be like and what the Israelis will do in the future is difficult to predict.
