Madrid trusts in Haaland’s wishes to play in white, in Raiola’s to maintain good relations with Madrid and in the fluid communication that exists between Florentino Pérez and the president of Borussia, Hans-Joaquim Watzke, who are joined by a friendship that has lasted for several years.Bayern, yes, depends on the departure of Lewandowski in the summer of 2022 to make room for Haaland, both in the squad and in the salary scale. Precisely the Pole has always shown interest in arriving at Madrid, trying several times without success (he signed as an agent the Israeli Pini Zahavi to achieve it, but Bayern refused); If Haaland is impossible in 2022 for choosing to go to Bayern, Madrid already knows that the Pole will be an option, although he would not be a future signing at all: Lewandowski will turn 33 in August, so in 2022 he will touch 34. His numbers continue to justify him as a first-rate striker (48 goals in 40 games this season with Bayern), but the years go by and Madrid is more focused on building the team that will bear fruit throughout the decade.<a href="https://www.skysports.com/transfer…

FC Bayern München - Training SessionPhoto by Alex Grimm/Getty ImagesWhat will happen with #SvenTheWall?Bayern Munich back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulreich has likely heard the rumors linking the Rekordmeister to Arminia Bielefeld starter Stefan Ortega and the veteran might be getting a little antsy about his own future.According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ulreich has not met with Bayern Munich as of yet regarding a new deal, but the 33-year-old wants to know if the club has any plans for him in the future — by the end of this month. For Ulreich, this makes sense from a career-planning perspective:News #Ulreich: He can imagine to extend but talks with him/his mgmt have not yet taken place. SU doesn't want to be the last one in the bunch to know about his future. Before the end of March the 33 y/o wants to know from Salihamidzic how the club plans with him. @SkySportNews— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) March 11, 2022By all accounts, Ulreich is a popular, seasoned option to play behind starter Manuel Neuer. Moreover, the relationship between Neuer and his current understudy appears to be rock solid, which is important considering how little Bayern Munich’s back-up goalkeepers actually play. For players seeking any type of consistent field time, being Neuer’s back-up is not exactly a desirable position. Ulreich, however, is content in the role, which differs from Neuer’s heir apparent Alexander Nübel.Should Neuer sign a contract extension, Nübel is expected to look for a new club.

Unlike a lot of keepers, Ulreich is content with his role as Neuer’s understudy, and is a pretty decent goalkeeper himself. Although his last outing against Mainz was a downer, he has otherwise performed admirably in Neuer’s absence, so it makes sense that Bayern would want to tie down his services for another year.Ulreich has been at Bayern since 2015, bar the one season he spent at Hamburger SV in 2020/21. Although he naturally hasn’t seen that many games compared to his captain, he has nevertheless played a fair few matches, and won a considerable amount of trophies, including a historic treble. Here’s hoping that Sven remains the trustworthy backup that he is!

The good news is that there is nothing certain (at this stage) regarding why Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano missed training, so (optimistically), fans can hope it was all precautionary. Sky Sport journalist Thorben Hoffmann tweeted the initial report (as captured by @iMiaSanMia): Third training session in Faro is underway. Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano are not training with the team, apparently both are carrying discomfort. There’s no exact diagnosis yet.Germany outlet kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) provided addition detail: The club didn’t provide a reason to De Ligt and Upamecano’s absence in training today. The Dutchman briefly laid down on the ground in yesterday’s afternoon session after a challenge in the final practice match, but was able to continue. It’s unclear whether his absence could have something to do with that.As we would later find out, De Ligt has a capsular injury in his knee and has been ruled out, though a release on FCBayern.com did not specify a timeline for his return: Matthijs de Ligt has suffered a capsular injury in his left knee during the training camp in Faro, Portugal. The diagnosis was confirmed by FC Bayern’s medical department following an MRI scan there. The defender will therefore not be able to train for now.It can be assumed that De Ligt is probably out for this weekend’s match (though it is not definite), but Upamecano’s status is still uncertain. If one or — (gulp!) both — players are hurt, this could be a baptism by fire for Eric Dier against Werder Bremen. Well...maybe notSpeaking of Dier, he left camp due to the imminent birth of his child per FCBayern.com: New signing Eric Dier is also leaving the training camp this Tuesday as the birth of his first child is imminent.Freund joins the squadAfter initially staying back in Germany to work on transfer, kicker is reporting that sporting director Christoph Freund has traveled to Portugal to meet up with the team (as captured by @iMiaSanMia): Christoph Freund will join the team in Portugal this evening.
