FC Bayern München v RB Leipzig - BundesligaPhoto by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Corbis via Getty ImagesWe could a number of Bayern Munich players sold off this summer.Bayern Munich’s plans for the summer transfer window are becoming more clear according to a report from Sky’s Florian Plettenberg. In a series of tweets (text extracted below), Plettenberg laid out the latest news:Due to the recent problems, Nagelsmann and the bosses agree that the defense urgently needs to be strengthened for the coming season. The focus of transfers is on this part of the team.Update #Frimpong: There is currently no contact. At most, there are reports of a loose interest. Update #Ortega: Some people in charge already wanted to get him last summer. (Karl-Heinz) Rummenigge in particular was a big fan. (Stefan) Ortega has not yet made a decision.#Sabitzer and his management are not going crazy yet. They are all hoping for a breakthrough. Loan possible in summer: (Josip) Stanisic, (Malik) Tillmann (HSV asked for him in winter). Sale possible: (Marc) Roca, (Bouna) Sarr, (Omar) Richards. Totally open: (Tanguy) Nianzou.BFW AnalysisIt is clear that there are some defensive deficiencies and losing Niklas Süle will not help. Dayot Upamecano has been up-and-down, while Benjamin Pavard has played mostly at right-back, so the shift to a back-three might require some new additions. It is clear that the Bavarians are desperately seeking at least one more central defender, but have not had much luck in procuring one as of yet.The Jeremie Frimpong news came out of nowhere and while it makes positional sense, the finances might not align — if the reports are even true. The quest for Ortega is puzzling. Bayern Munich is hesitant to make many purchases, but would spend a transfer fee on a back-up goalkeeper?Sabitzer is an interesting case. His move has been a failure so far, but his talent is tantalizing enough to try and make it work again next season. Will the former RB Leipzig star have enough patience to hang around?Loans for Stanisic and Tillman would not be shocking. Stanisic seems to have fallen out of favor and Tillman’s pathway to playing time is blocked in every direction.Sarr, Roca, and Richards have barely played since being acquired, but Richards could be in line to be part of Bayern Munich’s new “selling club” philosophy. Young and talented, Richards could probably find a home in someone’s starting XI and Bayern Munich would stand to make a profit after acquiring Richards for free last summer. As for Nianzou, the young Frenchman has looked extremely green in his appearances this season and probably needs to go on loan to get more game time elsewhere.

@FCBayernEN: RT @Plettigoal: Update #Ortega: As reported last week. The interest of Leverkusen is serious. Talks have taken place with his management. Ortega wants to be the No. 1 in his new club. He wants to play international. @SkySportsNews https://ift.tt/sT5Yivt
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v DSC Arminia Bielefeld - BundesligaPhoto by Lukas Schulze/Getty ImagesIn the latest transfer twist, Leverkusen could potentially beat Bayern to Arminia Bielefeld keeper, Stefan Ortega. The goalkeeping depth situation at Bayern Munich is still not entirely certain. What is certain is that Manuel Neuer is expected to soon sign a contract extension that will keep him at the club beyond next summer, when his current contract is set to expire and he would remain Bayern’s number one keeper. Sven Ulreich’s future at the club is uncertain and Alexander Nubel has made it clear that he wants to find a permanent solution somewhere after his loan spell with AS Monaco is up, and he knows that likely won’t be at Bayern if he’s just to serve as a backup to Neuer. He wants to be starting somewhere.Bayern had been linked with Arminia Bielefeld’s Stefan Ortega, who has been a fantastic force in between the sticks for Die Arminen in recent seasons. Months ago, he had said that if he were to leave Bielefeld at some point, it would only be for Bayern, let alone staying in the Bundesliga. Per a new report from kicker, though, Bayer Leverkusen is seriously considering making a move for Ortega this summer. His current contract with Bielefeld is set to expire at the end of this season. For Leverkusen, it’s widely considered that Ortega would be an upgrade to current, Finnish keeper Lukas Hradecky, who was named club captain over the summer. For Die Werkself, Ortega could be a cheap solution to make an upgrade at the goalkeeping position, but it remains to be seen whether or not that is, in fact, what they want to do. Some reports have suggested that the club is prepared to offer Hradecky a contract extension, keeping him at the club beyond the summer of 2023. However, if that were to be as a backup to Ortega if they were to acquire the latter from Bielefeld, Hradecky would likely reconsider his options elsewhere to be starter.Bayer Leverkusen - 1. FC Cologne Photo by Marius Becker/picture alliance via Getty ImagesBoth Bayern or Leverkusen would be an upgrade for Ortega, but a lot of his decision will likely hinge on what, specifically, the goalkeeping situations are at both clubs. On paper, he has a more realistic opportunity to become a starter at Leverkusen quicker, but Bayern would still be in need of a viable backup, especially if Ulreich winds up leaving this summer. For both Bayern and Leverkusen, they’ll have to bring out all the stops at the negotiating table if they seriously want to sign Ortega.Per Sky’s Florian Plettenberg, the talks between Ortega and Leverkusen are serious, and the keeper wants to ensure that he is the number one goalkeeper at whatever club he winds up going to. He also has ambitions of wanting to become an international player for the German national team.Update #Ortega: As reported last week. The interest of Leverkusen is serious. Action expected in coming weeks between Palhinha, Spurs (GiveMeSport)Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have done some good business together of late and more could be on the way. In recent reports, Tottenham has been linked to Bayern Munich midfielderJoão Palhinha and it seems like Spurs could be inclined to make a move for Palhinha in the coming weeks — just do not expect them to rush into it: Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha over a summer transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.Spurs have had a relatively quiet start to the transfer window compared to their fellow ‘Big Six’ clubs. With Mohammed Kudus through the door, and the young Japanese defender, Kota Takai, signing on the dotted line, that completes the north London side’s transfer business so far.Alongside the loan deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel becoming permanent, the Lilywhites are now awaiting their next incoming. That player that looked to be Morgan Gibbs-White, but a move that has since stalled due to legal issues, it appears Spurs will now turn their attention to Palhinha, having contacted the Portuguese player’s camp.Hoping to bolster in the middle of the park, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Frank’s side have ‘genuine interest’ in Palhinha, who has been described as ‘world-class’, and have made an initial approach to his camp to discuss a move.Šeško to NUFC? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)RB Leipzig has recently lowered the asking price on star striker Benjamin Šeško and Newcastle United’s interest is piqued: ⚫️⚪️ Newcastle and Benjamin #Sesko’s camp are in concrete talks, with RB Leipzig informed. However, there is still no verbal agreement. But Newcastle/Sesko working on it. #NUFC have had Sesko on their radar since 2022. Let’s see what happens in the coming days and weeks. So far, Leipzig have not received any offer for Sesko. Leipzig are demanding €80–100 million.Plettenberg’s last note there runs counter to other reports, which say that €70 million is the asking price for the Slovenian. If — somehow — the price really is €70 million, Bayern Munich could potentially be lured into taking a look at a player we know the club likes. Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show Season 4, Episode 53 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich’s summer action is heating up after a lull and a move or two could be on the horizon. Let’s catch up on all of it on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show: €75 million might be Bayern’s magic number for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz — and we think we finally know why we have been feeling so iffy about the situation. Bayern made its last bid on Nick Woltemade, which could still fall short of the mark. If that fails...who’s next? Maybe of three Red Bull-related players. Are we headed into an era of stability at Bayern Munich? Despite rumors of disconnect, there could be a pathway forward to structure. Ortega leaving Man City? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has some suitors: Three Premier League clubs pushing for Stefan #Ortega, while #Fenerbahce are also in concrete talks. A move to Burnley has fallen through for now. A summer departure for Ortega this summer is becoming increasingly likely. The reason: Ederson is set to stay, and James Trafford is joining. #MCFC @SkySportDEFélix back to Benfica? Hmmm...maybe not (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)João Félix could be headed back to Benfica...right? Right? It seems like it: ⚪️ SL Benfica are still pushing to sign Joao #Felix, as reported.A deal is understood to be likely, and the player’s camp are optimistic about completing the return. The 25 y/o is open to joining #Benfica. He is under contract with Chelsea until 2031. #CFC @SkySportDEHowever, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says that Al Hilal is trying to sneak in and steal Félix: Al Nassr are in advanced talks to sign…
