Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images Germany is playing incredibly well right now... Die Folgen: Germany’s 7-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bavarian Football Works)Germany wasted no time in establishing firm control of its UEFA Nations League showdown with Bosnia and Herzegovina as Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala got the scoring party started just two minutes into the match. It would be the first of seven goals, but the dominant effort was about more than just scoring for the Germans as Julian Nagelsmann might really be building a monster. Let’s dig into this, here are some quick hitters on the match: Mit dieser 1️⃣1️⃣ starten wir gegen Bosnien und Herzegowina! #dfbteam #gerbih
DFB/Thomas Böcker pic.twitter.com/o4n6ENVPmy— DFB-Team (@DFB_Team) November 16, 2024This was pretty much as expected. The only real variable was whether or not Tim Kleindienst would get the nod...he did (and he would make Julian Nagelsmann look smart). In the 2nd minute, Germany struck out to an early lead behind a goal from Jamal Musiala, which was set up by Joshua Kimmich. Kimmich’s cross met the head of Musiala (yup, another header!) for the very early lead. Germany had really asserted itself and taken full control of the match (as expected). In dominating possession and shots, there was very little chance for Bosnia and Herzegovina to do much of anything. While Robert Andrich and Pascal Groß are likely not the first choice midfielders any longer, they did well to help the German national team keep the game in hand. In the 23rd minute, Kleindienst re-directed what looked like a shot attempt from Andrich to make it 2-0. It was a cheeky, little flick from the Gladbach man. The German backline was rarely tested. In the 37th minute, Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz worked a neat combination, which led to Wirtz setting up Havertz perfectly for a 3-0 lead. Germany was just absolutely having its way with Bosnia and Herzegovina. For Wirtz, who was excellent on the day, it was the first of quite a few dazzling plays. In the 50th minute, Wirtz teed up a perfect free kick, which he aptly described by saying, “I had never hit it like that.” Amen, brother.Just seven minutes later, Wirtz added another goal and Nagelsmann could unload quite a few players from his bench, including Benjamin Henrichs, Felix Nmecha, Leroy Sané, and Serge Gnabry.Sané and Kliendienst would go on to each add a goal and Germany walked away with an easy victory.Kimmich was subbed out in the 73rd minute due to an injury scare, but he appears to be alright. Let’s not pretend that this version of Germany just whacked France or England by seven goals, but it was still damn impressive. Nagelsmann has this team rolling and they look extremely confident and comfortable playing together. It is a somewhat controversial topic, but Musiala and Wirtz playing together really might be too enticing to pass up for Bayern Munich. Those two are the engine that makes everything with this Germany team move forward. Overall, it is impossible to come away with many negative takeaways. Germany looks like a machine and is making steady progress under Nagelsmann. Dare I say...Nagelsmann might really have “the touch” for this team.If you missed our Initial Analysis, Match Awards, Observations, or Postgame Podcast, give them a look or a listen: Price on Šeško becoming more clear (@Plettigoal)Benjamin Šeško and RB Leipzig have a “gentleman’s agreement” and not necessarily a release clause in place when it comes time for the Slovenian to make an exit: We cannot confirm the report about a €90m release clause for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin #Šeško next summer ❌

FC Bayern München v Celtic FC - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Knockout Play-off Second Leg Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Bayern Munich is hosting Bayer Leverkusen in the UCL today... Bayern sets price on Coman (Bild via @iMiaSanMia)Bayern Munich has extended quite a few players so far, with a few others reportedly nearing new deals. In addition, Bayern Munich looks as if it is prepared to push all of its chips to the middle of the table in an effort to get Florian Wirtz this summer. To even attempt to afford all of these moves, Bayern Munich has to generate funds from somewhere — and one source of income could be a sale of Kingsley Coman: Bayern have set a €35-45m price tag for Kingsley Coman. Arsenal and Saudi Pro League are potential destinations for the Frenchman, who is open to a summer move. Coman is one of the players Bayern want to offload to reduce the wage bill and raise funds.Uh...Coman is not worth that much anymore. At 28-years-old, inconsistent, and oft-injured, Coman does not offer much a skill-set that clubs cannot find or develop for a lot less money. Moreover, Coman’s struggles with his crossing and finishing have continued on from his early days at Bayern Munich. It would be awesome to see Bayern Munich get as much as it is asking, but — in reality — Coman is just a guy with some close-range explosiveness, some good ideas, and a willingness to defend. Sure, those are wanted traits in today’s game, but there are more complete, better players who will be available for less money. All that said, godspeed to Bayern Munich if it can get that type of fee for Coman in today’s market. Šeško on the move? (@Plettigoal)RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško does, indeed, have a release clause and several clubs — Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal FC — are interested: EXCL | Until now, there had only been talk of a verbal agreement, but Benjamin #Sesko has a formally fixed release clause in his contract until 2029. This clause can be activated starting this summer. It is tied to various parameters – such as games played, goals, and assists – and increases regularly. Currently, the clause stands at around €70m for the 21-y/o top striker, but by the end of the season, it is expected to reach approximately €80m.All top English clubs have expressed interest, including Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal. The only club not involved in the race is Manchester City. #MUFC #AFC #MCFC However, Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg noted that Chelsea FC could also get involved and Tottenham might not really have a chance to land Šeško: RB Leipzig are aware of the strong interest from several top Premier League clubs in Benjamin #Sesko. As previously revealed, the 21-y/o top striker has a formally fixed release clause for the summer, which could rise to €80m by the end of the season.Tottenham currently have little chance, while Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal have all expressed concrete interest. #MUFC #CFC #AFCThe timing of all of this is...troublesome if you are like this author, who think Šeško could be the ideal successor for Harry Kane. Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen (Champions League)Well, here we are...here the (bleep) we are. Bayern Munich is set to host Bayer Leverkusen in a massively anticipated Champions League showdown. Leg one of this tie is being held at the Allianz Arena and will present the Bavarians with the opportunity to get a jump on the talented and dangerous visitors. The game is the spectacle, but there is a sideshow going on with Bayern Munich’s public courtship of Florian Wirtz — which should ramp up the hard feelings and intensity of this contest even more. Crystal Palace FC v Wolverhampton Wanderers FC - Premier League Photo by Sebastian Frej/Getty Images This is a glorious mustache... Will price for Nkunku fall? (GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs via @iMiaSanMia)Bayern Munich is reportedly interested in Chelsea FC attacker Christopher Nkunku and were given a price of €60 million (or more) back in the winter transfer window when the Bavarians initially kicked thew tires on the former RB Leipzig star. Now, the cost could be lower and Bayern Munich could be willing to see what might work: Christopher Nkunku would welcome a new Bayern bid this summer. Bayern had made an approach in January and Nkunku was keen. But Chelsea wanted €60m+ back then. The Frenchman is expected to leave Chelsea this summer.Gunners enter talks with Leipzig for Šeško (@Plettigoal)Arsenal FC is reportedly in discussions with RB Leipzig for striker Benjamin Šeško: ⚪️ EXCL | Negotiations between RB Leipzig and Arsenal regarding Benjamin #Sesko have begun!A few days ago, there was already a meeting between the executives Marcel Schäfer and Andrea Berta in London. It remains unclear whether #Arsenal are able to afford the full package. Discussions are currently ongoing about a possible payment structure. The release clause is set at over €80 million.Victor #Gyökeres is still high on the list. The current focus is on Sesko.Šeško is a player who Bayern munich is said to be interested in, but the timing is not right. As long as Harry Kane is in tow, the Bavarians will not be spending big on a striker. Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show: Season 4, Episode 45 (Bavarian Football Works)It was a long-time coming, but Bayern Munich finally got its man. The club announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, so now we can officially dive deep into what this means moving. Let’s kick things off with that and then explore some of the other hot button items at Bayern Munich these days. This is what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show: How will Jonathan Tah fit at Bayern Munich and how will his presence affect Kim Min-jae’s future in Bavaria. The longer Leroy Sané’s saga goes on, the more teams are — allegedly — creeping out of the woodwork to show interest. Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspur are among them, so let’s discuss. The Champions League finale is at the Allianz Arena this weekend. Bayern Munich failed in in its quest for finale dahoam, but Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain will do battle. Lert’s talk about how it all got to this point. LFC out on Simons (Anfield Watch)Liverpool FC had RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons on its radar, but the expected arrival of Florian Wirtz has reportedly killed the chance for that move to happen: Simons, 22, was on the Reds’ radar but in an item discussing the playmaker’s potential availability this summer, BILD states that Liverpool are, in fact, signing Wirtz.Bayern, too, have dropped their efforts to sign the Dutchman - while Chelsea are now regarded as the leading contenders.“Sporting director Marcel Schäfer (40) recently confirmed that no club has yet contacted him regarding the 26-time capped international,” the report reads.“Liverpool FC, which had recently been rumored to have a loose interest, is signing Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz (22),” the report reads.“According to BILD, Bayern Munich have also internally distanced themselves from the idea of signing Xavi. Xavi’s goal is said to be the Premier League, with a loose lead leading to Chelsea FC.”Bring him back (@USMNT)Chris Richards might not have been able to grow a full mustache when he was at Bayern Munich, but he can now. However, the player prefers to stay at Barcelona.So...there is very little chance that this move would go through for López, who is highly-rated by Barca, but if you were wondering where the 22-year-old might fit, here is his positional breakdown and performance (via Transfermarkt): Central Midfield — 52 games: 12 goals

FC Bayern München Portraits - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by Alex Livesey - FIFA/FIFA via Getty Images Bayern Munich has irons in the fire... Action expected in coming weeks between Palhinha, Spurs (GiveMeSport)Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have done some good business together of late and more could be on the way. In recent reports, Tottenham has been linked to Bayern Munich midfielderJoão Palhinha and it seems like Spurs could be inclined to make a move for Palhinha in the coming weeks — just do not expect them to rush into it: Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha over a summer transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.Spurs have had a relatively quiet start to the transfer window compared to their fellow ‘Big Six’ clubs. With Mohammed Kudus through the door, and the young Japanese defender, Kota Takai, signing on the dotted line, that completes the north London side’s transfer business so far.Alongside the loan deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel becoming permanent, the Lilywhites are now awaiting their next incoming. That player that looked to be Morgan Gibbs-White, but a move that has since stalled due to legal issues, it appears Spurs will now turn their attention to Palhinha, having contacted the Portuguese player’s camp.Hoping to bolster in the middle of the park, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Frank’s side have ‘genuine interest’ in Palhinha, who has been described as ‘world-class’, and have made an initial approach to his camp to discuss a move.Šeško to NUFC? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)RB Leipzig has recently lowered the asking price on star striker Benjamin Šeško and Newcastle United’s interest is piqued: ⚫️⚪️ Newcastle and Benjamin #Sesko’s camp are in concrete talks, with RB Leipzig informed. However, there is still no verbal agreement. But Newcastle/Sesko working on it. #NUFC have had Sesko on their radar since 2022. Let’s see what happens in the coming days and weeks. So far, Leipzig have not received any offer for Sesko. Leipzig are demanding €80–100 million.Plettenberg’s last note there runs counter to other reports, which say that €70 million is the asking price for the Slovenian. If — somehow — the price really is €70 million, Bayern Munich could potentially be lured into taking a look at a player we know the club likes. Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show Season 4, Episode 53 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich’s summer action is heating up after a lull and a move or two could be on the horizon. Let’s catch up on all of it on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show: €75 million might be Bayern’s magic number for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz — and we think we finally know why we have been feeling so iffy about the situation. Bayern made its last bid on Nick Woltemade, which could still fall short of the mark. If that fails...who’s next? Maybe of three Red Bull-related players. Are we headed into an era of stability at Bayern Munich? Despite rumors of disconnect, there could be a pathway forward to structure. Ortega leaving Man City? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has some suitors: Three Premier League clubs pushing for Stefan #Ortega, while #Fenerbahce are also in concrete talks. A move to Burnley has fallen through for now. A summer departure for Ortega this summer is becoming increasingly likely. RB Leipzig v VfB Stuttgart - 1. Bundesliga Photo by Ulrik Pedersen/NurPhoto via Getty Images Will RB Leipzig keep its start striker? According to a report from transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško has reached an agreement Newcastle United on personal terms. The two clubs, however, would need to come to accord on a transfer fee: Benjamin #Sesko has an agreement in principle with #Newcastle for a contract until 2030. #NUFC are now working to reach a deal with #Leipzig. #transfersNot so fast, though. Other reports indicate that no agreement has been reached and that talks are still ongoing: Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano⚪️⚫️ Newcastle and Benjamin Šesko, talks ongoing as revealed days ago and this remains the situation as of today……next week, more to follow. ⤵️Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze⚫️ Newcastle United have now entered into negotiations with Benjamin Sesko’s agents. The club and the player’s camp are in talks. Despite other reports, there is, according to our information, no fundamental verbal agreement yet. However, the Magpies are seriously pushing! Should an agreement be reached, Newcastle will then approach RB Leipzig. They continue to demand a package of around €80 million. @SkySportDESky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg ⤵️ There is currently no agreement between Newcastle and Benjamin #Sesko — not even a principle one.#NUFC are in talks with the player’s camp, with RB Leipzig have not received an offer yet. The situation also depends on what happens with Alexander Isak. To complicate matters further, Plettenberg also captured information stating that Manchester United is now also firmly in the running for the Slovenian: Manchester United and Newcastle are currently in talks with Benjamin #Sesko‘s management. Both teams have presented their projects and financial offers. #MUFC The decision now lies mainly with the player and his camp. Offers are expected to be formally submitted to RB Leipzig following the verbal agreement. However, #NUFC pushing a lot.Where things could turn in favor of Newcastle is if Alexander Isak leaves for Liverpool FC, which is expected to happen in the coming weeks. At that point, the Magpies might be inclined to ramp up their interest in Šeško.At one point, Šeško was a transfer target for Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich is getting Liverpool’s Luis Diaz...now what? Let’s talk through why we should take a step back, relax, and try to make the best of the move. Also, we’ve got some ideas about what might be next for Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade, why kicking the tires on Benjamin Šeško could be a good idea, the prospect of Gianluigi Donnarumma at Bayern, Jamal Musiala’ comeback plan, and MORE! Germany Press Conference and Training Session - UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 Final Photo by Boris Streubel - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Nick Woltemade is the next big target for Bayern Munich... Woltemade pursuit has Bayern puzzled for now (FCB Inside via @iMiaSanMia)Bayern Munich still wants Nick Woltemade...and VfB Stuttgart still does not want to give him up. For Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, the situation has been an odd one. “We have a situation that has been talked about often enough. We made an offer. That hasn’t led to any discussions to date – and that’s the status quo. I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t like to talk about players of other clubs, and Nick Woltemade is currently a player of VfB Stuttgart. We’ll see how things develop,” Dreesen told FCB Inside (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Our industry is so crazy that everything is normal and sometimes abnormal.”When asked if the club would up its offer, Dreesen passed the buck (figuratively, not literally): “I must explicitly say that this is certainly also the task of my esteemed colleague Max Eberl, together with Christoph Freund.”Bayern Munich will likely take another run at this, though it will not be easy.
