🔺 Part 1: Australian Convert's Story: The Fragrance of Imam Reza (AS) Reached Denmark

📚 As reported by Rahyafte: In the early years of my conversion to Islam, I was working as a journalist and had co-founded an Islamic group for sisters. Through this group, I had the privilege of meeting sisters from various countries and their families, including some wonderful students from Iran. These Iranian youth possessed exceptional character; they were united in all good deeds and always actively participated in activities. Their humor intrigued me, and I admired a fundamental quality they had, which was rooted in their deep faith—something I was eager to discover. As Allah states in the Quran, "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for the one who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often" (33:21). It was this that led me to a deeper study and eventually made me a devotee of Ahlulbayt (AS).

🔸 Iran, The Land of White and Gold: An incredible event occurred in the late 1990s, and I was invited to a conference in Iran. At that time, my mother was severely ill, and I had to care for my father, so I couldn’t attend. But later, I received another invitation, and although my circumstances were better, the conference was canceled due to the escalation of the war in Afghanistan. Eventually, the conference was held in 2004, and I was able to attend. This story is a small piece of my memories from that trip, whose impact will never fade from my heart.

🔺 Part 2: Australian Convert's Story: The Fragrance of Imam Reza (AS) Reached Denmark

🔸 The Living Martyrs: In the Quran, we read: "And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, 'They are dead.' Rather, they are alive, but you perceive it not." (2:154) Every Muslim has likely read or heard this verse, but do they all truly understand and believe in its meaning? My deep understanding of this verse happened during my pilgrimage to the shrine of the eighth Imam, Imam Reza (AS). We know that all our Imams were martyred, so besides their other virtues, they certainly exemplify this verse.

🔸 The Blessed Fragrance of Imam Reza (AS): You can’t imagine how disappointed I was at that moment. We returned to the group, and after Maghrib prayer, I went to a quiet room in the shrine. I sat alone, leaning against the wall. The entire room was carpeted except for one corner beside me. It occurred to me that I could at least rub the scarves on that marble corner to bless them. Still troubled by not touching them to the shrine, I suddenly smelled a fragrance I had noticed upon entering the shrine. I looked around, thinking the wind had carried it into the room, but the room had no windows, and the door was closed. The scent surrounded me, and I felt deep in my heart that Imam Reza (AS) himself was present in the room! Just as the Quran says about martyrs, "Do not call them dead. They are alive!" I believed that Imam Reza (AS) had entered the room, and with great sorrow, I begged Allah to forgive me for failing to fulfill my promise to that sister. I poured out my heart to Imam Reza (AS), confessing my past doubts about blessing the scarves. I spoke about my family and friends, especially my daughter, who had also converted to Islam and was living in Denmark. I shared the sorrows weighing on my heart from living among non-Muslims. After this heartfelt conversation, an incredible peace enveloped me, and the sweet fragrance gradually faded until I found myself alone again, but calm and content.

🔸 The Purple Fragrance in Denmark: But the story doesn’t end there. A few hours later, we were given some books in identical orange bags. I placed my glasses and the blessed scarves inside the bag. On our way to the lecture and Maghrib prayer, a sister kindly carried my bag for me. It wasn’t until we were about to board our flight that we realized my orange bag had been mixed up with someone else's. Some sisters wanted to search for my belongings, but I felt that whether the bag was found or not, it wouldn’t change the beautiful memory of my pilgrimage. So I asked the sisters not to trouble themselves; if the bag was meant to return to me, it would, and if not, then perhaps it was meant for someone else. Two days later, in Tehran, I fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. The next morning, one of the sisters visited me and, interestingly, brought my bag with her; everything, including my glasses, books, and even the blessed scarves, was in place, and I could still smell the fragrance! The bag had been found at the Mashhad airport and returned to Tehran, where the conference organizers identified it as mine. That same day, I called my daughter in Denmark, and she told me an amazing story: "We were sitting at home with the children, and the apartment was locked. Suddenly, a very pleasant fragrance filled the house. Did something special happen to you that day?" I shared my story with her, and since my daughter has a special artistic sense, I asked her what color she thought the fragrance was. She replied, "Purple, Mom! Exactly purple." That day in the shrine, I had also imagined the fragrance to be precisely purple.

☘ Imam Reza (AS) said:

🖌 The intellect of a Muslim is not complete unless they possess ten qualities:

1⃣ They bring hope of goodness to others. 2⃣ Others are safe from their harm. 3⃣ They consider the smallest good deed from others to be significant. 4⃣ They consider their own greatest good deed to be insignificant. 5⃣ They never tire of fulfilling the needs of others. 6⃣ They never tire of seeking knowledge throughout their life. 7⃣ They prefer poverty in the way of God over wealth. 8⃣ They prefer humility in the way of God over honor with His enemies. 9⃣ They desire obscurity more than fame.

🌿 Then he said: "And what is the tenth quality?" He was asked: "What is it?"

🖌 He replied: "They do not see anyone except that they think the person is better and more pious than themselves."

⚜ The minimum gratitude a servant should show to God for the opportunity to perform obligatory prayers is to say in the prostration after the prayer:

"Shukran lillah, Shukran lillah, Shukran lillah." (Thanks be to God)

✍ Someone asked the Imam, "What does this statement mean?"
❤️ He replied:

Belgian Professor Converts to Islam at the Shrine of Imam Reza (AS)

According to Rahyaftegan (Comprehensive Platform for New Muslims and Islamic Promoters) and reported by Astan Quds, Richard Kilehoard, accompanied by his Iranian friend, visited the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) to testify the Shahada and embrace Islam and Shiism.

This new Muslim, a 49-year-old Belgian professor who teaches technical subjects at a university in Belgium, shared his journey: "I was raised as a Catholic and currently reside in Belgium, teaching at a university there. About five years ago, I began grappling with questions that went unanswered, even at the church. I embarked on a personal journey to study various religions, including Islam, and ultimately found it to be the most complete. Islam held the answers I was searching for."

He continued, "Getting to know my Iranian and Malaysian friends, observing their behaviors, made me more curious about Islam and helped me find my way." Richard also expressed how witnessing the Muharram commemorations and the devotion of Iranians to the Ahlulbayt (AS) inspired him to further explore Islam.

On a friend’s recommendation, Richard traveled to Tehran a week ago, then continued to Mashhad to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS). He described his feelings: "Before Islam, I felt lost, like someone stranded in a barren desert with no hope of survival. But upon embracing Islam, it was as if I were revived, saved from death."

However, he noted, "The process of conversion in Belgium is slow. While there is a positive movement towards truth, there are also obstacles in place that prevent people from exploring this path."

Reflecting on the spread of Islam in Europe, Richard remarked, "A few years ago, Islam was scarcely mentioned in Europe. Today, interest in learning about Islam is growing, and I am hopeful that the future holds the promise of people finding the truth."

Richard has read the English translation of the Quran, which he says greatly aided his understanding. He expressed a strong desire to learn to read the Quran in Arabic as well.

"The Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) is an extraordinary place," he shared, "It feels unlike any other. In this holy and spiritual atmosphere, I feel a profound sense of peace, as if I can hear the voices of angels."

At the end of his visit, Astan Quds Razavi's Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims presented him with an English-translated Quran and various cultural gifts to help deepen his understanding of Islam.

🔸 A Buddhist Woman’s Rebirth at the Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.)

📚 According to Rahyafte (a comprehensive platform for converts and Islamic propagation):
Aurapan Royamial, a former Buddhist woman from Thailand, embraced Islam at the sacred shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.). This transformative event was beautifully documented by Hanieh Zamamdar.

🔴 Aurapan’s Journey to Islam:
"I spent years researching various religions and sects, but I always felt they lacked something. Eventually, I discovered Islam and Shia Islam as the most complete and perfect faith. This realization led me to embrace Islam wholeheartedly.

Every religion I studied contained valuable teachings, but they were often scattered. Shia Islam, however, stood out with its comprehensive and detailed principles. It offers a path for believers to achieve ultimate spirituality and perfection through effort.

Prayer (Salah) holds a profound and unparalleled position in Islam, being the most distinguished form of worship among all."

🌙 “The radiant shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.) and the blessed month of Ramadan were the best place and time for my rebirth. I am overjoyed by this decision and aspire to uncover the truths of this faith and reach spiritual perfection on this path.”

🌍 Dr. Carlo Corbucci – From Italy to Islam

💠 Dr. Carlo Corbucci, an Italian jurist and lawyer, embraced Islam over 40 years ago and chose the name Ahmad Kamal. Since then, he has dedicated his life to defending Muslims in European courts—especially after 9/11—handling nearly 80% of so-called “Islamic terrorism” cases in Italy and Europe.

📚 He has authored six books, five of them on Islam and spirituality, including “Islamic Terrorism: Deception and Distortion of Realities”, exposing how courts and media have manipulated events to tarnish the image of Islam and justify Western powers’ agendas.

🕋 A devout Shia Muslim, Dr. Ahmad Kamal has performed Hajj seven times and frequently visits Mashhad to be in the sacred presence of Imam Reza (AS). He says:

“The first time I came here, I felt this is the place I truly needed… a spiritual homeland.”

✨ His journey to Islam began not with excitement but with deep study and search for truth:

“I was born in a Catholic family, but forty years ago my passion for mysticism and spirituality guided me to Islam. I found in Shia Islam the deepest dimension of faith.”

🇮🇷 Inspired by Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Islamic Revolution, he emphasizes:

“Imam Khomeini’s thought should be more recognized in Iran and beyond. His spiritual uprising gave dignity to Islam worldwide, and my greatest wish is to see his teachings truly lived in society.”

🌹 Dr. Ahmad Kamal concludes:

“My greatest dream is to embody the teachings of Islam. Life is a journey toward the Hereafter—we must meet God with knowledge and full hands.”
