What a perfect timing to meet Luca, a young guitarist co-founder of a local band called The Mayor Is Stoned๐ค๐
I was astonished to find out that behind this funny monicker, there's a young band that takes you 50 years back, when #RPI (Rock Progressivo Italiano) was one of the most respected and praised music movement of that unrepeatable decade.
#TheMayorIsStoned perfectly blend late 60s Heavy Psychedelic Rock influences with 70s Jazz Rock vibes, to me reminiscent of the British #Canterbury scene and Italian acts such as Osanna, Area, NapoliCentrale, Maxophone.
Great and suprising band, unique in the local scene I would say, if you are in the area don't miss their live dates!!!

30 years ago The Divine Comedy from Northern Ireland, #UK released their 4th studio album.
Casanova marked the band's commercial breakthrough, mainly thanks to the single "Something For The Weekend" after which #TheDivineComedy were (wrongly) addressed by many as #BritPop.
The album and the band are in fact rather different!
Casanova is apparently linked to Venice.
๐ "Something For The Weekend" video is entirely filmed in Venice, the album title and the song "Theme From Casanova" are inspired by ๐ the Venetian adventurer, the front cover is a photo of leader Neil Hannon on a water taxi on the #GrandCanal.
