🎼26 May 1986. Who remembers this one?β˜οΈπŸ€”
Yes, it's 35 years today that Swedish rock band #Europe released their most famous album, The Final Countdown. It has been an iconic record for my generation, I personally started my "rock life" thanks to that and the same happened to many people of my age.. and the thing is that we all still clearly remember!πŸ˜ƒ
#TheFinalCountdown charted n.1 all over the world and sold millions of copies mainly thanks to its epic titletrack 🀟, literally everyone was singing it that year, my "not proper rockers" parents too 😳
The story behind it's an incredible one, to testify once more how life goes... #vocalist Joey Tempest wrote the intro of The Final Countdown many years before, he wanted it to be the intro to their concerts, then he just forgot it! When #guitarist John Norum heard it in 1985 he insisted to write a proper song as intro number for their next new album. Nobody of them believed much in it... and of course it became their most famous hit ! 😁

🎼18 August 1986. It's 35 years today 😳 that the keyboards 🎹 of David Bryan introduced Slippery When Wet, 3rd studio album by American hard rock band Bon JoviπŸ‘‡
3 months before #Europe already paved the way with The Final Countdown (for related post click here πŸ‘‰ #26May), but it's with the release of Slippery When Wet that Hard Rock & Heavy Metal had their final breakthough in all charts! As many of my generation, I personally started listening to this music genre thanks to Europe and Bon Jovi! πŸ’ͺ🎸πŸ”₯
Slippery When Wet, along with some terrific singles such as You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer, and Wanted Dead or Alive, sold some 30 million copies worldwide and #BonJovi became the hugest hard rock band in the world for some years🀟😈
... and I have to say they still today live on that success, so Let it Rock !!! #MusicHistory #18August
