🎼4 March 1948. Christopher Russell Edward Squire was born in London. Known as Chris Squire, he was the #bassist, backing vocalist and founding member of the fantastic progressive rock band Yes, which along with contemporaries #Genesis, #KingCrimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer (#ELP), #VanderGraafGenerator, #GentleGiant, #Camel and many more, indelibly marked the Progressive Rock Era of the early 70s in the UK! Chris left this world in 2015, to remember him I chose maybe the most famous song he wrote for #Yes in 1971, 50 years ago, along with his band mate Jon Anderson 🤟🎸🎶

🎼5 April 1973. Some months before I was born, Le Orme, fantastic Prog Rock band from Venice, #Italy, release their 4th album Felona e Sorona, still today in my opinion the best rock album ever come "out of the #Lagoon". 🤟🔝
#LeOrme members, Aldo Tagliapietra, Tony Pagliuca and Michi Dei Rossi were 3 local musicians at the peak of their career, they were part of the unrepeatable Italian Prog Rock era of the early seventies which, with far less technical and promotional means, developed along with the contemporary monumental British Progressive Rock scene. #PeterHammill, at the time leader and mastermind of the famous band #VanDerGraafGenerator, became a big fan and friend of Le Orme and collaborated with them for this album, by suggesting its title and translating the lyrics for its English Version, and for their following UK Tour.
I post the entire record, since it is a concept album telling the story of two planets, Felona and Sorona, which simply can't live without each other, one being in perennial light and the other in perennial darkness. It would not be great to extract just one song, plus the whole sound of this record is incredible still today 😳, more if you think it was 1973! 💪🏻🎸🎙🎹🥁🎶
