🎼4 March 1948. Christopher Russell Edward Squire was born in London. Known as Chris Squire, he was the #bassist, backing vocalist and founding member of the fantastic progressive rock band Yes, which along with contemporaries #Genesis, #KingCrimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer (#ELP), #VanderGraafGenerator, #GentleGiant, #Camel and many more, indelibly marked the Progressive Rock Era of the early 70s in the UK! Chris left this world in 2015, to remember him I chose maybe the most famous song he wrote for #Yes in 1971, 50 years ago, along with his band mate Jon Anderson 🀟🎸🎢

Camel
πŸ“€ Mirage
#ProgressiveRock #SymphonicRock

50 years ago Camel from Surrey, England, #UK released their 2nd studio album.

Can't express how much I love this album: to me Mirage is the perfect mix of class, musical gentleness, instrumental mastery, superb melody... the two suites "The White Rider" and "Lady Fantasy" are among the finest pieces of Progressive Rock music I've heard.

#Camel at their best ❀️‍πŸ”₯

In this album:
#AndrewLatimer β€“ guitars, flute; vocals on "The White Rider" and "Lady Fantasy"

Camel
πŸ“€ The Snow Goose
#ProgressiveRock #SymphonicRock

50 years ago Camel from Surrey, England, #UK released their 3rd studio album.

Following the success of "The White Rider" suite included in their πŸ‘‰ 1974 album and based on Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, #Camel wanted to write an entire novel-inspired record.

The Snow Goose was intended as a concept album based on Paul Gallico's novel of the same name, but due to copyright issues raised by the author, the band opted for an instrumental album adding the subtitle "Music Inspired By".

No better choice and no words to describe this album, my all time favorite #InstrumentalRock by possibly my favorite Prog band ❀️‍πŸ”₯
Absolutely unpretentious, accessible to everyone irregardless of musical tastes, and simply heavenly!

In this album:
#AndrewLatimer β€“ guitars, flute
#PeterBardens β€“ organs, pianos, Minimoog, ARP
#DougFerguson – bass
#AndyWard β€“ drums, vibes

Camel
πŸ“€ Moonmadness
#ProgressiveRock

50 years ago Camel from Surrey, England, #UK released their 4th studio album.

Moonmadness is the last #Camel album recorded by the original formation, the final 4 songs are a loose concept with each track based on the personality of each band member.

As I wrote for their previous albums, Camel are probably my favorite Progressive Rock band and Moonmadness is another heavenly masterpiece in their discography ❀️‍πŸ”₯

In this album:
#AndrewLatimer β€“ guitars, flute, vocals
#PeterBardens β€“ keyboards, vocals
#DougFerguson – bass, vocals
#AndyWard β€“ drums, percussion; voice
