A French military contingent of 15 personnel has arrived in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. Several other European countries are also deploying soldiers as part of an intelligence operation called "Arctic Endurance," led by #Denmark. This follows a meeting in Washington yesterday between representatives of Greenland and Denmark and U.S. officials, where they failed to reach an agreement regarding the future of the world’s largest island. Trump intends to establish American control over the island "by any means necessary," not excluding the use of force.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen reported on Wednesday that there are currently about 200 American soldiers in Greenland — significantly fewer than during the Cold War. The island's population is approximately 57,000 people...
