🔹 Section Four: Who Has Been Cursed? | A Qur’anic Perspective ✨🚫 📖 Ziyarat Ashura Reference In Ziyarat Ashura we recite: “O Allah! Surely this is the day when the family of Umayyah rejoiced, and the son of the eater of livers — the accursed one, the son…
🔹 Section Five: The Umayyad Clan’s Israelite-Jewish Lineage 🕎

📜 Key Point

The Umayyad dynasty traces its hidden roots back to the Israelites 🧬. This conclusion is drawn from the Qur’anic verse Surah Al-Isra (17:60) and a hadith from Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) — fully explained in the article The Saqifah of Bani Israel.

👉 Furthermore, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) confirms this hidden lineage by using the word ‘al-Lasiq’ (the attached, the illegitimate) in Letter 17 of Nahj al-Balagha, addressed to Mu‘awiya. This term highlights that the Umayyads had no true blood relationship with the Banu Hashim — they were originally of Roman and Israelite stock 🇮🇱🏺.

✍️ Imam Ali’s Historic Declaration

“As for your claim: ‘We are the sons of Abd Manaf,’ yes, so are we — but Umayya is not like Hashim ⚔️, Harb is not like Abd al-Muttalib 🌙, Abu Sufyan is not like Abu Talib, the migrant to Allah is not like the freed captive, the noble pureborn is not like the attached outsider 🩸, the truthful is not like the false, the believer is not like the corrupter! How evil is the successor who follows an ancestor doomed in the Hellfire!” (Nahj al-Balagha, Letter 17)

📚 In this powerful passage, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) unmasks the reality: the Umayyads were opportunistic outsiders glued onto the noble tree of Quraysh — not true branches 🌳 but attached parasites 🧫.

✅ Conclusion

✔️ The Umayyads had no genuine kinship with the Banu Hashim — they were impostors of Roman and Israelite heritage who hijacked the Prophet’s legacy.

🏰 The Umayyad Dynasty in Andalusia (Spain, Europe)

After the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate in Damascus — which lasted for 90 years and collapsed in 132 A.H. (750 CE) at the hands of the Abbasids — one of its princes managed to escape the massacre. ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Muʿawiyah, famously known as ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Dakhil (the “Immigrant Prince”), a grandson of Hisham ibn ʿAbd al-Malik (the 10th Umayyad Caliph), fled from the Abbasids and took refuge in North Africa.

In 138 A.H. (755 CE), he crossed over into al-Andalus (present-day Spain). There, he defeated the local governor, seized Cordoba, and established the Umayyad Emirate in Europe.

📌 It should be noted: the land of Andalusia had already been conquered by Muslims between 91–93 A.H. (710–712 CE). Until 138 A.H., the region was administered by governors appointed by the Caliphs, just like other Islamic provinces. With the rise of the Umayyad Emirate, however, a new independent era began.

⚔️ The Umayyad rule in Andalusia endured for nearly three centuries — from 138 A.H. (755 CE) until 422 A.H. (1031 CE). This dynasty gave Europe one of its longest-standing Muslim governments, known for its architectural, cultural, and intellectual influence.

📌 Correction:
In some reports it is mistakenly said that the Umayyads ruled in Europe for over 700 years. In reality, their dynasty lasted about 300 years, while the overall presence of Muslims in Spain extended for more than 700 years.

📜 The Aftermath of the Battle of Jamal for the Jewish–Umayyad Islam
Source: JS Center

During the caliphate of Imam Ali (A.S.), the false and hypocritical front — later known as the Umayyad Party — began to act openly. Feeling secure and powerful, this group initiated armed revolts to destabilize the Islamic government.

The murder of Uthman became a golden opportunity for both the Jews and the Umayyads, serving as the main pretext for most rebellions during Imam Ali’s reign. Notably, neither Aisha, Talha, nor Zubayr had any legitimate religious ground for their uprising — their motives were deeply political and power-driven.

Aisha, persuaded by political figures around her, marched toward Basra under the banner of “avenging Uthman,” despite being advised by Umm Salama and Ibn Abbas not to interfere in such matters. This rebellion, known as the Battle of Jamal (the Camel), resulted in the deaths of over ten thousand Muslims — a tragedy later regretted even by Aisha herself.

🔹 Key Outcomes of the Jamal Sedition

1️⃣ Confusion and Misguidance among Muslims
The battle mixed truth and falsehood, deceiving many believers. As Imam Ali (A.S.) said:

“When trials come, they cause confusion between truth and falsehood.” (Nahj al-Balaghah, Sermon 93)
This chaos was deliberately engineered by the Umayyads and their Jewish allies to weaken true Islam and redirect the ummah from the path of justice.

2️⃣ The Rise of Anti-Alid Sentiment
Cities like Basra became centers of Nasibi (anti-Ahlulbayt) tendencies, strengthening the ideology of “Uthmanism” — a major victory for the Jewish–Umayyad agenda.

3️⃣ Internal Instability and Economic Burden
The war, fought among Muslims themselves, left behind social divisions, poverty, and thousands of widows and orphans. These consequences later helped Muawiyah manipulate public opinion against Imam Ali (A.S.).

4️⃣ Propaganda Leverage for Muawiyah
After Jamal, Muawiyah gained powerful propaganda material, claiming that even companions like Aisha, Talha, and Zubayr opposed Ali. This deceitful narrative fueled the Umayyad dominance for decades.

Ultimately, the Battle of Jamal served as a turning point exploited by the Jewish–Umayyad alliance — not for faith or justice, but for political control and the distortion of Islam’s true spirit.

🎥 A Vision in Prison: "Who Truly Rules Over Us?"

An astonishing account from Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi 🕌:

"In the year 1345 (1966), I was arrested by SAVAK 🚔. During the interrogations, a deep question settled in my heart: 'O God, who truly rules over us? Is it the British? The Americans? The Pahlavi dynasty itself? The Communists? The Baha'is? Who holds the reins of this country? From whom do these interrogators receive their orders?'"

"That night, I had a dream 🌙. I was in the Jewish quarter — tall walls, narrow alleys. Wherever I turned, I ended up there. I woke up with a clear understanding: 'The Jews.' They wanted to give me the answer."

"They were the great problem for Islam from its very beginning 🏛️. The Umayyads were just like what we see today — they were the façade. The Umayyads conducted their affairs by consulting them."

"The second generation of the Umayyads, after Yazid, were the descendants of Marwan ⚔️. In the Battle of Jamal, Marwan was Mahdoor al-Dam — meaning anyone who found him was ordered to kill him. Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (AS) 🕊️ brought him to his father, Imam Ali (AS), to intercede for him and lift this decree. Imam Ali (AS) accepted the intercession."

"When it was time to pledge allegiance, as Marwan's hand approached the Imam's, Imam Ali (AS) withdrew his own hand and said: 'This is the hand of Judaism. Even if he pledges allegiance a hundred times from the front, he will strike from behind.' He did not give him his hand."

"And after Yazid, Marwan became the ruler. The Umayyad dynasty that came to power were the descendants of Marwan — Abdul Malik ibn Marwan, Hisham ibn Abdul Malik... that entire line — they were the Marwanids."

A profound historical insight delivered through a divine vision in a prison cell. The struggle is ancient, and the faces of power often wear masks.

The End of an Era 🕋

On the occasion of the collapse of the Umayyad dynasty following the assassination of Marwan ibn Muhammad (Marwan al-Himar) , the last Umayyad caliph, in 132 AH (750 CE) .

But was this merely the fall of a ruling family, or the logical conclusion of a much deeper legacy?

🔍 A controversial genealogical inquiry suggests that the Umayyads were not just political rivals of the Hashimites, but perhaps ideological and racial adversaries with a very different origin.

Key points from the analysis:

· The Cursed Tree: The Prophet (PBUH) reportedly applied the “accursed tree” in the Qur’an to the Umayyads.
· Monkey Metaphor: A disturbing dream of monkeys climbing his pulpit was interpreted by the Prophet as referring to the Umayyads, reminiscent of the Jewish punishment of being transformed into apes.
· Unnatural Hostility: An unrelenting, generational war against the Hashimites – from Abu Sufyan vs. the Prophet, Muawiyah vs. Imam Ali, to Yazid vs. Imam Husayn (AS).
· Questionable Lineage: Strong evidence from early Islamic historians suggesting Abu Amr (Dhukwan) was a Jewish freed slave from Saffuriyya, not a true Qurayshi. Accusations of adultery, adoption, and Roman/Jewish roots surround the Umayyad ancestry.

📜 One striking quote from Imam Ali (AS) to Muawiyah:

“Freedmen and their children have nothing to do with the early migrants… the sound of the gaming piece proves it is not from the same set.” (Nahj al-Balaghah)

🔷 Examples of Historical Fabrication in the Present Day

🔸 The pain of history does not end with the events of Saqifah.

From the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates to certain modern movements and media, efforts have continued in different forms to conceal, soften, or reinterpret the painful events of early Islamic history—particularly the reported attack on the house of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) and the loss of her unborn child.

📚 Even today, historical narratives can be presented in ways that leave out essential details.

For example, in some educational materials, the children of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are presented merely as children who died at a young age, without adequately addressing the broader historical disputes surrounding the Prophet’s family.

🎬 And in modern television productions, historical figures such as Mu'awiyah may sometimes be portrayed through narratives that significantly differ from the accounts found in classical Islamic sources.

🔻 But why does this matter?

Because controlling the narrative of history can shape how generations understand justice, oppression, and the legacy of the Prophet ﷺ.

History tells us that during the Umayyad period, commanders such as Busr ibn Abi Artat, acting on Mu'awiyah’s orders according to historical reports, carried out brutal campaigns that included the killing of civilians and children.

These are not merely stories from a distant past.

They raise a fundamental question:

❓ What happens when the painful parts of history are systematically forgotten, softened, or removed?

When the suffering of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) is concealed,
when the events surrounding her home are dismissed or ignored,
when the historical persecution of the Ahlul Bayt (as) is minimized,

then an important part of the history of Islam disappears from public memory.

🌹 Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) was not an ordinary woman.

She was the beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ,
the mother of Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon them),
and a central figure in the household of revelation.

Yet even today, the location of her grave remains unknown.

🔹 According to traditions within Shi'a Islam, even in the era of the reappearance, the exact location of her grave will remain undisclosed.

Think about the meaning of that.

A woman who was the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ,
the mother of the leaders of the youth of Paradise,
and revered as al-Siddiqah al-Kubra—

her final resting place remains hidden.

💔 Why?

Perhaps the hidden grave itself has become a permanent historical testimony.

A silent question addressed to every generation:

How could the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ suffer such oppression, while those who came after her claimed to represent his religion?

🔷 The question is not merely what happened in the past.

The deeper question is:

What are we doing with the truth today?

Are we willing to study history honestly—even when it challenges the narratives we inherited?

Are we willing to distinguish between historical evidence and historical propaganda?

And most importantly:

🌱 Will we allow the suffering of the Ahlul Bayt (as) to become merely a forgotten chapter of history—or will we learn from it?
