🔷 What Did Ibn Taymiyyah Say About Abu Bakr?
A Historical Admission—or a Defensive Justification?
Sometimes, when investigating a historical event, the most revealing evidence does not come from its opponents, but from the way its defenders attempt to explain it.
One noteworthy example is a passage found in Ibn Taymiyyah’s famous work Minhāj al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah, volume 8, page 291, in his discussion of the reports concerning the house of Fāṭimah al-Zahrāʾ (سلام الله عليها).
Ibn Taymiyyah writes:
This passage deserves careful attention.
🔸 Ibn Taymiyyah himself preserves the claim that Abū Bakr entered Fāṭimah’s house in order to investigate whether public property was present there.
🔸 He uses the expression “kabas al-bayt” (كبس البيت)—a term that does not ordinarily describe a casual visit, but rather conveys the idea of entering upon a place with force or pressure.
🔸 However, it would be historically inaccurate to claim that Ibn Taymiyyah thereby accepted the entire Shīʿī account of the attack. He presents the statement within an argument and then attempts to justify Abū Bakr’s alleged action. Therefore, the passage should be understood in its full context.
So the more precise historical question is not simply:
❌ “Did Ibn Taymiyyah openly accept the Shīʿī version of the attack?”
Rather, we should ask:
Why does Ibn Taymiyyah, while defending Abū Bakr, even discuss a scenario in which Abū Bakr entered Fāṭimah’s house to investigate property?
And more importantly:
What source was Ibn Taymiyyah relying upon when presenting this claim?
This is precisely where historical research must move beyond slogans and enter the realm of source criticism and contextual analysis.
🔸 An Important Point
In the same discussion, Ibn Taymiyyah attempts to argue that Abū Bakr did not harm ʿAlī, al-Zubayr, or the other opponents of his rule, while presenting the alleged entry into the house as an act motivated by concern over “the property of Allah” and its distribution.
Therefore, even someone who rejects the Shīʿī interpretation of these events cannot simply claim:
“There is absolutely no historical report about Abū Bakr entering Fāṭimah’s house.”
Such a statement would be difficult to reconcile with the passage preserved in Minhāj al-Sunnah.
At the same time, intellectual honesty requires another distinction:
This passage by itself does not establish every detail found in Shīʿī accounts—such as the breaking of the door, physical assault, or the martyrdom of al-Muḥassin.
Each of those claims requires its own independent examination of the sources.
But the passage is still historically significant enough to raise an important question:
🔻 This Is How We Should Read History
Do not accept every claim without examination.
But do not reject every uncomfortable report simply because it challenges a familiar narrative.
Read the text.
Examine the wording.
Study the context.
Identify the source.
Then draw the conclusion.
The house of Fāṭimah al-Zahrāʾ (سلام الله عليها) is not merely a historical detail.
It is one of the most important points of dispute in understanding the events that followed the death of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
And if we truly want to understand history, we must be willing to examine both the evidence and the arguments of those who oppose our interpretation.

🔷 Abū Bakr’s Alleged Regret Concerning Fāṭimah’s House A Controversial Report from the Final Hours of His Life One of the most striking reports concerning the events after the death of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ appears in accounts describing Abū Bakr’s final…
And that alone makes this one of the most important reports to investigate when studying the events surrounding the succession after the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The truth does not become false because it is uncomfortable.
And historical research does not become sectarian simply because it asks difficult questions.

🔷 Examples of Censorship and Alteration in Historical Sources How Can We Detect Changes in the Historical Record? When studying the final days of Abū Bakr, we previously examined reports attributed to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf, according to which Abū Bakr…
A later version is not automatically more reliable merely because it is easier to read or more favorable to a particular narrative.
🔸 The Historian's Responsibility
When we encounter conflicting versions, the correct response is not:
“This proves a conspiracy.”
Nor is it:
“There is nothing to investigate.”
The correct response is:
Find the earliest available version.
Compare every surviving transmission.
Identify what was added.
Identify what disappeared.
Examine the chains of transmission.
Check manuscript and edition differences.
Then determine which reading has the strongest historical basis.
This is the essence of historical source criticism.
And it becomes especially important when the subject concerns the political legitimacy of the earliest Islamic governments.
Because when an event has implications for legitimacy, succession, and the relationship between the ruling authorities and the household of the Prophet ﷺ, the possibility of selective transmission must be taken seriously—but also demonstrated, not merely asserted.
🔻 One Final Point
If a report appears in an early source, and a later source preserves the same report but removes its most sensitive sentence, the disappearance itself becomes a historical question.
The historian should ask:
That is how we move beyond inherited narratives.
History is not understood by repeating the latest version.
It is understood by tracing the history of the text itself.

🔷 Saqīfah and the Killing of a Child When Historical Events Are Measured Against the Prophet’s Own Moral Standards To understand the events surrounding Saqīfah and what followed, we must begin with a basic question: What did the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teach…
🔻 History Must Be Judged by Its Own Standards
This is why the discussion surrounding the house of Fāṭimah cannot be reduced to a simple argument over political allegiance.
The deeper question is:
Did the actions attributed to the actors of that period conform to the moral and religious standards taught by the Prophet ﷺ?
If the answer is no, then the historian must explain the contradiction.
And if someone rejects the reports concerning physical violence or the loss of al-Muḥassin, then the correct approach is not merely to dismiss them.
Examine the sources.
Examine the chains.
Compare the versions.
Determine what is early and what is late.
Separate established facts from disputed details.
That is how history should be studied.
Not through blind loyalty.
Not through blind hatred.
But through evidence, context, and moral consistency.
🔻 One Final Question
The Prophet ﷺ spent his life teaching mercy toward the weak.
He prohibited the killing of women and children.
He condemned the killing of infants.
He taught his followers to respect human dignity.
So when we study what happened immediately after his death, we should ask one simple question:
That question deserves an honest historical investigation.
Because Saqīfah was not merely about who would govern.
It was also about what happened to the Prophet's family when political power was being established.
And the house of Fāṭimah remains one of the most painful and consequential questions in the history of early Islam.

🔷 What Does “Thirty Years of Hadith Prohibition” Mean?
[An Image of a Catastrophe in Islam]
🔸 How severe was the censorship?
Consider a government whose legitimacy was built upon a particular historical event. If the truth of that event were exposed, the very basis of its legitimacy would be called into question.
So how could such a government allow that event to be accurately transmitted to future generations?
The answer was censorship.
For approximately thirty years after the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the transmission and recording of his sayings and traditions were subjected to severe restrictions.
Think about what that means.
🌱 Imagine a gardener planting a seed.
He waters it, nourishes it, protects it, and patiently helps it grow until the plant can stand on its own.
Now imagine that instead of nurturing it, someone steps on it and crushes it.
What happens to its growth?
It becomes distorted.
Its development is disrupted.
It no longer grows naturally.
This is how a religious tradition can be damaged when its connection to the words and teachings of its Prophet is deliberately suppressed.
🔹 For thirty years, “The Messenger of Allah said…” was not something that could simply be transmitted freely.
And then we are told:
📖 “We have the Book of Allah; that is sufficient for us.”
But does the Qur’an itself not assign the Prophet ﷺ the responsibility of explaining and clarifying revelation?
The Qur’an speaks of the Prophet teaching people the Book and wisdom.
So what happens when the Prophet’s explanations and teachings are pushed aside?
A gap is created—and someone will eventually fill it.
⚠️ And this is where another danger emerges: the infiltration of foreign narratives and Israeliyyat into Islamic interpretation.
Figures such as Ka'b al-Ahbar gained influence in the field of religious interpretation. Narratives attributed to earlier traditions began entering the process of explaining the Qur’an.
A person could simply enter the Muslim community, declare:
And then, remarkably, the next day, begin publicly interpreting the Qur’an.
📌 Whoever controls religious interpretation can profoundly influence how a generation understands its religion.
And remember:
When authentic Prophetic teachings are suppressed, the vacuum does not remain empty.
Someone else steps in.
Someone else speaks.
Someone else interprets.
Someone else becomes the “source” through which people understand their faith.
🔻 This is why understanding the history of hadith censorship is not a minor historical detail.
It is a key to understanding:
How was the memory of the Prophet preserved?
Who was allowed to transmit his words?
Who was allowed to interpret the Qur’an?
And how did foreign narratives enter Islamic thought?
The Qur’an says that the Prophet ﷺ was sent to teach and explain.
So if for decades people are prevented from saying:
“The Messenger of Allah said…”
we should seriously ask:
❓ What happens to a religion when its divinely appointed teacher is silenced?
🔷 Thirty years is not a small period of time.
Thirty years is enough to shape a generation.
And sometimes, to understand the tragedies that came later,
we must first understand what was prevented from being remembered.

🔷 Examples of Historical Fabrication in the Present Day
🔸 The pain of history does not end with the events of Saqifah.
From the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates to certain modern movements and media, efforts have continued in different forms to conceal, soften, or reinterpret the painful events of early Islamic history—particularly the reported attack on the house of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) and the loss of her unborn child.
📚 Even today, historical narratives can be presented in ways that leave out essential details.
For example, in some educational materials, the children of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are presented merely as children who died at a young age, without adequately addressing the broader historical disputes surrounding the Prophet’s family.
🎬 And in modern television productions, historical figures such as Mu'awiyah may sometimes be portrayed through narratives that significantly differ from the accounts found in classical Islamic sources.
🔻 But why does this matter?
Because controlling the narrative of history can shape how generations understand justice, oppression, and the legacy of the Prophet ﷺ.
History tells us that during the Umayyad period, commanders such as Busr ibn Abi Artat, acting on Mu'awiyah’s orders according to historical reports, carried out brutal campaigns that included the killing of civilians and children.
These are not merely stories from a distant past.
They raise a fundamental question:
❓ What happens when the painful parts of history are systematically forgotten, softened, or removed?
When the suffering of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) is concealed,
when the events surrounding her home are dismissed or ignored,
when the historical persecution of the Ahlul Bayt (as) is minimized,
then an important part of the history of Islam disappears from public memory.
🌹 Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) was not an ordinary woman.
She was the beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ,
the mother of Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon them),
and a central figure in the household of revelation.
Yet even today, the location of her grave remains unknown.
🔹 According to traditions within Shi'a Islam, even in the era of the reappearance, the exact location of her grave will remain undisclosed.
Think about the meaning of that.
A woman who was the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ,
the mother of the leaders of the youth of Paradise,
and revered as al-Siddiqah al-Kubra—
her final resting place remains hidden.
💔 Why?
Perhaps the hidden grave itself has become a permanent historical testimony.

What are we doing with the truth today?
Are we willing to study history honestly—even when it challenges the narratives we inherited?

🔷 Two Balls in Football and a Rooster Laying Eggs!
[Don’t Even Mention the Evidence of the Burning of the House of Revelation…]
🔸 Explaining historical facts to someone who has replaced thinking with blind partisanship is like arguing with a person who watches a football match for fifteen minutes and then insists:
“Why doesn’t each team have its own ball?” ⚽⚽
You explain the rules.
You explain the game.
You give him one reason after another.
But he keeps inventing new arguments to defend an idea that makes absolutely no sense.
Now imagine trying to discuss one of the most painful controversies in early Islamic history: the reported attack and burning of the house of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa).
You present evidence.
📚 You cite historical sources.
📖 You bring reports from Sunni sources themselves.
🔎 You present chains of transmission and historical accounts.
And yet, some people will still reject everything—not because there is no evidence, but because they have already decided that they do not want to accept the conclusion.
It becomes an endless cycle:
You provide one source →
they demand another.
You provide ten →
they question all ten.
You provide dozens →
they simply move the goalposts again.
At some point, you have to ask:
Are we actually discussing evidence—or are we simply refusing to think?
⚠️ There is an old saying:
The problem is not always a lack of evidence.
Sometimes the problem is the refusal to accept evidence.
🔻 Over the centuries, countless books were lost, destroyed, or suppressed. Scholars and historical figures were attacked, marginalized, or discredited simply because they transmitted accounts that challenged powerful narratives.
And yet, despite all of this:
☀️ Truth does not disappear simply because someone refuses to look at it.
The question surrounding the house of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (sa) is therefore not something that can be dismissed with a simple:
“There is no evidence.”
The serious question is:
📌 Have you actually examined the historical evidence?
Have you looked at the sources?
Have you examined what was transmitted in the earliest records?
Have you compared different accounts?
Have you considered what even prominent historical figures and sources attributed to the events?
Because when evidence is repeatedly presented from sources that you yourself consider authoritative, simply rejecting everything because it conflicts with an inherited narrative is not scholarship.
It is partisanship.
🔷 History deserves investigation—not blind loyalty.
And when it comes to the suffering and oppression of Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them), we should have the courage to ask uncomfortable questions, examine the evidence, and follow the truth wherever it leads.
Because…
⚽ A football match needs one ball.
🐓 A rooster does not lay eggs.
📚 And historical claims require evidence—not endless excuses.
☀️ Truth may be hidden behind clouds for a time, but it does not cease to be the sun.

“You can give a thousand arguments that a rooster cannot lay eggs, but someone determined to believe otherwise will keep asking for another proof.” 🐓🥚

🔷 Let us pray with certainty for the Reappearance!
🔸 Shaykh al-Saduq, in his book Kamal al-Din, narrates a supplication from the Sacred Precinct in which we ask Allah that, if the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance) becomes prolonged, we may never lose our certainty.
This supplication was taught to us by the Imam himself—the very Imam who knows that a prolonged occultation, being deprived of news about him, and the pressure of doubts can cause a person to gradually fall into forgetfulness, uncertainty, and despair.
✨ Awaiting the Relief is not merely an emotion or a slogan. In the narrations, it is described as one of the greatest of all deeds.
A true believer who awaits the Imam must wholeheartedly believe in:
🔹 the existence of the Imam,
🔹 that the Imam is alive, and
🔹 the certainty of the promised Reappearance.
And we must continually pray for his Reappearance and the Relief.
Just as we have certainty in the existence and prophethood of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we must also have certainty that the promised Savior will come.
⏳ No matter how long the occultation lasts, Allah's promise will never change.
💠 This is a lesson taught to us by the Imam himself:
🤲 “O Allah, if the occultation of our Master and Imam becomes prolonged, do not let us lose our certainty.”
We have no access to him. We receive no news of him. He remains behind the veil of occultation. And yet, the Imam himself teaches us how to remain steadfast.
“O Allah, do not let us forget him. Keep his remembrance alive in our hearts. Let us continue to remember him, speak to him, and pray for him.”
🌿 And remember: in numerous narrations from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ onward, we find this profound teaching:
“The best of deeds is awaiting the Relief.”
So let us truly embrace this state of waiting.
Let us believe. Let us reach a level of certainty where doubt has no place in our hearts.
🌟 The Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble Reappearance) will come, and his Reappearance will certainly take place.
Just as we believe with certainty that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ existed, that he rose for the sake of Allah's religion, struggled, worked, and fulfilled his mission, let us have the same certainty that the promised Imam will come and that his Reappearance will take place.
🤲 May Allah grant us the certainty never to despair, and grant us the grace and ability to continually pray for the Relief and Reappearance of our beloved Imam.

🔷 Why Do They Mock Us?
[What Should We Do?]
🔸 1. The Tradition of the Prophets & Solidarity with Imam Ali (peace be upon him)
Mockery, ridicule, and verbal abuse were among the shared trials of all the prophets:
Enduring hurtful words and sarcasm for the sake of faith is a form of solidarity with the suffering of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and a sign of sincere devotion.
🔸 2. The Example of Lady Asiya (peace be upon her)
For women whose husbands oppose their faith, Lady Asiya offers a powerful example. She stood against Pharaoh, the most tyrannical ruler of her time, and remained steadfast in her faith.
You are not more honored than Asiya, and your husband is not more evil than Pharaoh.
So if you are being mocked, insulted, or pressured because of your faith, do not think that you are alone.
🔸 3. Awakening & True Life
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said:
What we call “life” in this world is, in reality, like a dream. True and everlasting life begins after death.
The Qur’an describes the regret of a person on the Day of Judgment:
Notice that the verse says “for my life,” not “for my death.”
✨ From the perspective of revelation, the real life begins beyond this world.
So the pain of being mocked, insulted, or ridiculed in this temporary world is tiny compared with the eternity of the Hereafter.
🌿 If you are mocked because you pray, because you practice your faith, or because you remain devoted to God—be patient and remain steadfast.
Your suffering does not make you weak.
It may be a sign that you are walking the same path of patience that the prophets and the righteous walked before you.
🤲 May Allah grant us patience, steadfastness, and the strength to remain faithful regardless of how others treat us.

🔷 Why Not Become a Brother of the Prophet?
[Attention, believers of the End Times—listen!]
🔸 • Greater Than Many of the Martyrs of Badr and Uhud
According to a narration from Ammar al-Sabati, who reports from Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him)—recorded in Al-Kafi and Kamal al-Din—believers who remain steadfast in their faith during the Occultation, especially when they endure mockery and opposition from those closest to them, can attain a rank greater than many of those who were martyred at Badr and Uhud.
The Imam says, in essence:
✨ So rejoice!
Think about what this means.
The companions of the Prophet ﷺ believed in him, stood beside him, and ultimately gave their lives for their faith.
And yet Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) tells the believers of the End Times who patiently endure hardship for their faith:
🌿 “Rejoice!”
Your patience has value.
Your hidden acts of worship have value.
Your struggle has value.
🔸 • The “Brothers” of the Prophet ﷺ
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ once expressed his longing to meet his “brothers.”
His companions asked:
“Are we not your brothers, O Messenger of Allah?”
He replied:
“No.”
He was speaking of people who would come later—people who would believe in him without ever having seen him.
People who would remain faithful despite immense pressure.
People who would stand by their faith both privately and openly, even when doing so was difficult.
🌙 Can you imagine being among those whom the Prophet ﷺ longed to meet?
You never saw him.
You never sat beside him.
You never heard his voice.
Yet you believed in him.
You believed in his message.
And you remained faithful despite the pressures surrounding you.
🔸 • “Lights in the Darkness”
The believers who remain steadfast in the darkness of the End Times are described as “lights in the darkness.”
💡 Imagine someone quietly waking before dawn to fast, while trying not to wake a spouse who opposes their worship.
Imagine someone praying quietly because their family mocks their faith.
Imagine someone remaining devoted to Allah while even those closest to them ridicule or insult them.
These hidden acts of faith are not insignificant.
They may be precisely what makes a believer a light in the darkness.
✨ When everything around you becomes dark, people naturally search for a light.
Be that light.
So, my dear brothers and sisters:
If you are being mocked because of your faith…
If your spouse opposes your prayer or fasting…
If your family does not understand your devotion…
If people around you make you feel ashamed for remaining faithful…
🌿 Do not assume that your struggle is worthless.
Perhaps you are living through the very trial that gives the believers of the End Times their extraordinary rank.
And perhaps, by remaining patient, you are becoming one of those whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ longed to meet.
🤲 May Allah make us steadfast in our faith, keep our hearts firm during the darkness of the End Times, and make us among those who shine as lights of guidance.

🔷 Are We Truly Shia… or Something Else?
[A Question We All Need to Ask Ourselves]
🔸 • What Does It Mean to Be a True Shia?
Millions of people say, “We are followers of Imam Ali.”
But true Shia identity is not established by words, claims, or merely living near holy shrines.
A true follower is someone who remains patient and steadfast during times of trial, understands what faith requires, and takes their religion from the Guiding Imams (peace be upon them)—not from social media.
You could find a person with very little formal education, perhaps an elderly woman living quietly in a remote village, who has a deep connection with the Ahl al-Bayt and her Imam.
And you may find another person living in the very heart of the Shia world, surrounded by religious institutions and symbols, yet who has little genuine knowledge of the teachings of the Imams.
🌿 What matters is not how loudly we claim to be Shia.
What matters is whom we follow, what we know, and how faithfully we live by it.
🔸 • Correcting Our Understanding of the Imamate
We have fourteen sources of guidance through the Prophet ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt.
They taught us how to understand religion.
They explained faith.
They showed us how to live.
Yet sometimes we know very little about what they actually taught, while filling our minds with the words of scholars, influencers, celebrities, and everything we encounter online.
And then we ask:
❓ “Why doesn't Imam al-Mahdi help us?”
❓ “If he is alive, why is there so much injustice?”
❓ “Why doesn't he solve our poverty and problems?”
But perhaps the problem begins with our understanding of the Imam himself.
💡 Expecting the Imam to simply solve all our worldly problems is not the true meaning of Imamate.
The Imam is not someone we approach with a sense of entitlement, as though we are saying:
“I asked. Why haven't You fixed my problem yet?”
Following the Imam means obedience, loyalty, understanding, and supporting the truth he represents.
🌿 Before asking, “Why hasn't the Imam helped me?” ask yourself:
“How well do I actually know my Imam?”
You may know your favorite celebrity by their biography, interviews, lifestyle, and every detail of their career…
But how well do you know your Imam?
You may spend hours consuming content online, yet know very little about the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt.
That is where we need to begin.
🔷 The problem may not be that the Imam has abandoned us.
The problem may be that we have misunderstood what it means to follow him.
True Shia identity is not a title.
It is knowledge.
It is patience.
It is obedience.
It is steadfastness during trials.
And above all, it is following the guidance of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
🤲 May Allah grant us true knowledge of our Imam, sincerity in following him, and the wisdom to correct our understanding of faith.
