📺 30 FPS FLIP-DOT display controlled by ESP32
The article describes the process of development of a novel type of display (which has a lot of advantages) based on magnetic induction and the way it can be controlled by ESP32 microcontroller.
There are tiny magnets hidden inside each flat dots. Basically, to flip a dot, you have to flow an electrical current into the coil, generating a magnetic field around it. The direction this current flows will flip the dot from one position to the other. Only a short pulse of current is needed. The electromagnet core stays polarized, keeping the dot on position, even when the power is gone.

🔭 Laser Projected Asteroids on the ESP32
The article (with video) describes the process of recreating of classic old game for laser projection using esp32 controller. The project includes both schematics and explained software part with detailed explanations. The game is implemented using the Esspressif IDF using PlatformIO to build and deploy.
"All in all, it's a pretty successful project. Even with my very low power 5mw laser, I can get around 2m x 2m projection at a good brightness in a dark room."

📟 Framework32 for ESP32 (TTGO T-Display)
Framework32 is designed to give your ESP32 (currently TTGO T-Display) the ability to have multiple, graphical apps, controlled by an intuitive navigational system.
Current feature are:
▫️ Load multiple applications onto your device and choose what to run at runtime
▫️ Graphical "app-style" menu system with infinite scrolling
▫️ Navigate "home" from anywhere by double clicking the left button
▫️ Status bar
▫️ Time (from NTP)
▫️ Wi-Fi strength indicator
▫️ Battery level indicator
▫️ Sleep if not being used (but can be overridden by the open app)
▫️ Config file (with the plan to make it dynamically updatable)
▫️ Easy button handlers provided

💵 IoT Wallet (smart 3D-printed Wallet With Firebeetle ESP32, Arduino IDE and Google Spreadsheet)
So how do you track assets and know their current value? You can work with some spreadsheets and update them regularly. Or you can create your own gadget to check these values for you: an IoT wallet!
This spreadsheet is accessible from an ESP32 using and Wi-Fi connection, and a summary is shown on an OLED display. A 3D printer was used to create a wallet, in which I embedded some electronic components to create my first IoT wallet prototype.
There are several ways to use this tutorial. You can use it to:
▫️ Learn how to track and update your asset values for a particular currency using a Google spreadsheet;
▫️ Program an ESP32 using the Arduino IDE;
▫️ Read values from a Google spreadsheet using an ESP32 device;
▫️ Practice your electronics and soldering skills, etc;

🖥 MiniWin - Embedded Window Manager
This project shows how to implement a window manager with movable overlapped windows on an embedded micro-controller with a LCD panel and a touch screen. There are commercially available software packages to do this but they cost money and are closed source.
This one, called MiniWin, is free and open-source. It's written in fully compliant C99 and can be used in a C or C++ application. The goals of MiniWin are to be easy to use, easy to modify, expandable, portable to a wide range of hardware, and not too resource hungry.

📟 3D-printed Mini Hygrometer with ePaper display & Bluetooth
The build runs on an nRF52811 microcontroller, hooked up to a 1.02″ ePaper display sourced for just $7. A SHT20 temperature and humidity sensor is then queried to sample the ambient conditions, and the results displayed on the screen. The benefit of this is that the device can be powered from a coin cell, and set to update at infrequent intervals – say, once per hour. It can then be checked by the user without having to turn on.
The low-power design means it would be the perfect device for leaving in a guitar case or humidor for months at a time. As a bonus, it’s also capable of Smart Home integration thanks to the Bluetooth capabilities onboard.

📟 ECG Display With Arduino
This ECG (Electrocardiogram) unit has an integrated display. The display can show individual heart beats in a large format, the train of heart beats in a small format and a Poincaré plot.
It is battery powered and can be worn round your neck on a lanyard.
It is built from an AD8232 module (£7 with leads), an Arduino Nano (£3) and a 2.8" TFT display (£6) plus a few resistors, a pushbutton and so on - the sort of things you already have. For power, you can use 4 AA cells or a single Lithium cell.

🗜 Drill Depth Display with Gyro Sensor
If you have to drill a certain depth for a project, you need a bench drill with depth display. See how simple it works in this project.
Most bench drills have a ruler with an arrow for reading. The success of the drilling depends on how accurately you can read the desired position. In this Arduino project I present an alternative proposal: A drilling depth display with a gyro sensor and 7-segment display with Arduino support.

📰 Audi Brings Augmented Reality to the Head-Up Display
Automotive Head-Up Displays promise to provide helpful augmented reality information in the driver’s field of view
Augmented reality is a long-promised capability that is finally coming to life in the Audi Q4 e-tron EV.
The possibilities for augmented reality in this application are immense, as such a system would be able to overlay the driver’s view of the real world through the windshield with helpful navigation directions, warning signs, and vehicle data.
The Audi system displays turning arrows from the navigation system and starting points and destinations that are visually superimposed in the corresponding place on the real-life outside world as dynamically displayed augmented reality content.
Images appear to float in space about ten meters ahead of the driver. This keeps the focus for the information close to that for the real-world scenes.

📟 TENEX - Open Source Volumetric OLED Display
When we think of our future, we see floating holographic displays, screens and neon everywhere, and the most ridiculous technology. Now we just have boring flat high definition displays from TVs down to our phones and watches. We need to bring our true future forward, the one we always wanted starting with the ridiculously cool mono-colour displays and in this case, a solid state volumetric display.
Volumetric displays come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, but they generally rely on high frequency moving or spinning parts. Fast enough to cause some damage to humans if they were to come in contact with them. A solid state display uses layers of displays and pixels to give depth to the user.
