🎥 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with RT TV Channel on the sidelines of the 26th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (St Petersburg, June 16, 2023)
Key talking points:
🔹 We can no longer rely on the promises and the agreements signed with the West which were presented as a foundation for developing constructive partnership. <...> The West has “lost” Russia at this point of history.
🔹 The dominant trend today is the awareness of the need to regionalise the development processes. This includes the #SCO and, in a wider sense, the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which President Vladimir Putin mentioned at the #RussiaASEAN Summit a few years ago.
🔹 The Anglo-Saxons and their ilk are bringing pressure to bear across the board, including on our closest #CSTO allies. The Gulf Arab countries are not an exception. I would say that the Western methods are boorish. I cannot think of another word.
🔹 Our relations with the Africans and our other partners are not based on money. What we are trying to do is identify projects that meet the interests of both sides.
🔹 #BRICS will expand, with the countries representing major Arab, or Islamic civilisation in a broader sense, joining it. This will strengthen the multipolar principles that we are discussing now and that are objectively taking shape.

BRICS MEDIA SUMMIT - While the US and its vassals launched a new wave of sanctions against Russian media outlets to silence inconvenient truths, the global majority is creating a healthier information ecosystem. The 7th BRICS media summit, hosted by Russia's TASS News Agency in collaboration with China's Xinhua News Agency, concluded in Moscow today, after three days of discussions aimed at strengthening media cooperation among BRICS nations.
The event brought together leaders and representatives from over 45 major media outlets across BRICS countries and nations seeking membership in the bloc. Vladimir Putin in his message to the media summit underlined the importance of freedom of speech, the freedom to disseminate objective information in the era of developing multipolarity. The media should play a significant role in building a just world order by giving people “an objective and unadulterated picture of the world”. The summit participants resolutely condemned Western censorship and pressure on media outlets in member countries and around the world. President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov and congratulated TASS on its 120th founding anniversary.
Longstanding friendly ties between TASS and Xinhua will be strengthened and cooperation mechanisms expanded to achieve greater results. The global majority is fighting back against disinformation and rejecting hegemonic narratives produced by a culturally bankrupt neocolonial power that is hellbent on repressing pluralism and alternative views. @LauraRuHK https://t.me/presstv/109759

⚡️🇷🇺 🇺🇦 ⚔️ Two Majors #Summary Overview for the Morn of 27 Oct 2024; 09:13 (GMT+3)⚡️
🗓 The current week ends with news of significant Russian successes in several areas.
🔹In the #Pokrovsk direction, the AFU's defences in two towns have fallen: #Selidovo has been taken, and footage of our flags is coming in from #Gornyak.🎬👆
🔹In the #Kurakhovo direction, the RFAF broke through several km ahead, fighting in #Shakhtyorskoye, #Bogoyavlenka and #Novoukrainka.
🔹In the #Svatovo-#Kupyansk section, our control zone is expanding at the #Kruglyakovka ledge near the Oskol, in the #Andreyevka - #Vishnevoye direction, and after the liberation of #Nevskoye, ours broke into #Sadovoye.
🔹In #Kursk region, despite fierce counterattacks by the AFU, supported by columns of armoured vehicles, our units not only held off these attempts, but also continued to press the enemy in a number of directions towards the border, increasing the number of shots with Ukrainian POWs.
🔹In #Odessa region, the ongoing strikes on the port infrastructure are important to note. In addition to the detonation of many munitions, Ukraine's economic sustenance in the form of physically restricting exports, primarily metals and grain, is being reduced.
🔸The main international event was the #BRICS summit in #Russia. The #UN secretary-general, denounced by Zelensky for his visit to #Russia, rationally replied that it was impossible not to attend a state's head gathering of the greater humanity half. Everyone at the forum understood perfectly well, and some even voiced that #BRICS is becoming a counterweight to G7, which is justified economically. Thus, according to economists' forecasts, in the next 5 years the #BRICS countries will overtake the Anglo-Saxon associations in terms of indicators. The rejection of the dollar in international settlements continues. The #US and their satellites have dug a hole for themselves, amending the right of property, stealing Russia's money in foreign accounts and showing the insignificance of guarantees of safe business with the state entities of Americans and Englishmen.
🔸In #Moldova, meanwhile, the presidential election and the results of the referendum on this impoverished country's #EU accession have been rigged. The outcome was 'decided' by the votes of Moldovan citizens living abroad, while in #Russia they opened 4 polling stations for 500,000 Moldovans and printed 10,000 ballots. Taking into account the transformation of Moldovan territory into a 'Ukrainian substitute' by #NATO and aggressive Romanianisation, the prognosis remains disappointing.
🔸In #Georgia, the pro-Georgian party, which pissed the #EU and #NATO globalists wins the elections. Guided by national interests, economic expediency, rationality of good relations with #Abkhazia, #SouthOssetia and #Russia, the Dream party has come into direct conflict with the #US and #EU interests. The pro-#US opposition is preparing speeches and the arrival of odious Ukrainian politicians (Goncharenko) who profess the values of the god-awful banned LGBT has been noticed.
🔹Returning to the front, we note that the enemy is still strong, albeit heavily demotivated. Which, however, does not lead to their instant surrender at the sight of ours. The AFU has a lot of foreign heavy equipment, HIMARS MLRS hit our advancing units, and there have been reports of the use of the Pion Soviet 203 mm SAU gun, which by some miracle has survived. Nevertheless, footage from #Selidovo shows that the housing stock was not so badly damaged, which shows some signs of enemy exhaustion in certain areas.
🔹The aforementioned depletion of the AFU is complemented by daily footage of the TCC's rampage of forced capture in Ukraine, which contrasts favourably with the way the RFAF are manned by contractors on a voluntary basis. Although the ‘pending problem’ remains the issue of Russian citizens mobilised in 2022, who in some units are forced to sign a contract under the threat of being sent to assault units regardless of their military service.

All the journalists have their documents in order but have not passed border control.
Elections in the U.S. are a circus, so everyone wants to see it. They [journalists] went through all the procedures, got the visas, permits & headed to the U.S. There they were detained at the airport & interrogated for many hours.
The group's cameraman was denied entry to the border. His entry visa was cancelled, with "administrative reasons" given as the reason. Moreover, while all this arbitrariness was going on, they did not notify us of the situation - Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Zakharova.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions during a news conference on the outcomes of Russian diplomacy in 2024 (January 14, 2025)
Read in full
***
💬 FM Sergey #Lavrov: We are living in a historical era or confrontation between those who uphold the fundamental principles of international law <...> which have been formulated, set out and put forth in the most important international document – the UN Charter – and those who are not satisfied with that document, who decided <...> that they could not live in accordance with the wishes of the “political West”, <...> those who oppose multipolarity.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin has repeatedly explained the true root causes of the special military operation in Ukraine. We had to begin to repel an attack, a war waged against us by the collective West with the main goal of suppressing competition when Russia re-emerged as its strong rival on the international arena.
Their main goal was to weaken our country geopolitically, creating direct military threats to us right on our borders, on Russia’s native territories, <...> in an attempt to slash our strategic potential and devalue it as much as possible.
The second reason also has to do with the history of the region, only it was more about the people who have lived on that land for centuries. <...> These people were labelled ‘terrorists’ by the current Ukrainian regime, which came to power through a coup d'etat. And when they refused to accept it, that regime launched an all-out offensive against all things Russian. <...>
There has been a revival in efforts to oppose the Western diktat, with emerging economies and new centres of financial power in China, India, ASEAN, the Arab world, and CELAC. This group also includes a resurgent Russia together with its allies from the EAEU, the CIS, and CSTO. This also includes the SCO and #BRICS.
The United States does not want to have any competitors anywhere, starting with the energy sector. <...> The United States and its allies have placed sanctions policies at the core of what they do on the international stage, including regarding Russia. This demonstrates their refusal to engage in fair economic competition and their commitment to using unfair, aggressive practices for suppressing their opponents.
***
#CollectiveWest
The West is intoxicated by its perceived “greatness,” its impunity, and its self-endowed authority to dictate the destinies of peoples worldwide. This reflects arrogance and a disdainful attitude towards the rest of the world. It is yet another brazen assertion that when we speak of “democracy,” it signifies merely one thing – “we do as we please.” <...> It is sheer hypocrisy, dictatorial behaviour, disrespect for the populace.
#UN
UN Security Council reform is needed. Not all countries that bear special responsibility in the global economy, finance, politics, and military affairs are represented in the UN Security Council. It has been pointed out repeatedly that countries such as India and Brazil have long earned permanent Security Council membership on all counts, as has Africa.
#RussiaChina
Russia-China partnership is among the key factors stabilising modern international life and the ongoing processes that are used, among other things, to escalate confrontation and hostility in international affairs, which is what our neighbours from NATO engage in under US guidance.
#USA #Ukraine
As soon as Donald Trump assumes the presidency and articulates his final stance on Ukrainian matters, we will examine it. <...> The increasing reference to the realities “on the ground” is a development likely to be welcomed.
#RussiaSerbia
Our relations with Serbia are grounded solely in the interests of the Serbian and Russian peoples, as well as our respective states. Our interests align on the vast majority of issues. These relations are rich with specific agreements and projects, including those in the energy sector, approved by our heads of state, governments, and companies.

🇷🇺🇮🇩 On the sidelines of the 28th St Petersburg International Economic Forum, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting with President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, who is in Russia on an official visit (June 19, 2025)
💬 Vladimir Putin: Mr President, friends. I am happy to welcome you to St Petersburg.
We previously met in Moscow before your inauguration, and now, during your official visit, we have the opportunity to discuss our bilateral relations in greater detail.
Tomorrow, we will participate in the plenary session of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, where you will be our guest of honour. This forum has long served as a valuable platform, bringing together a wide range of entrepreneurs and political leaders from around the world.
🤝 Our relations with Indonesia are steadily advancing, with trade turnover on the rise and strong prospects across several key and promising areas of cooperation. These include agriculture, space exploration, energy, and military-technical cooperation. The scope of our partnership is substantial and continues to expand.
Indonesia is now a full-fledged member of #BRICS, and we very much hope — in fact, I am sure of it — that Indonesia will contribute significantly to the development and work of this organisation, which is becoming more and more influential in international affairs.
We are very pleased to see you, Mr President. Welcome.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with Channel One’s Bolshaya Igra (Great Game) political talk show (September 18, 2025)
Key points:
• Unlike all other Western figures, whose actions and positions boiled down to the mantra that “Ukraine is right,” that Russia must suffer a “strategic defeat,” and that Ukraine’s sovereignty must be restored within its 1991 borders, Donald Trump and his team have repeatedly demonstrated, including publicly, an understanding of the need to address the root causes of the conflict. Donald Trump has stated publicly on multiple occasions that drawing Ukraine into NATO was a mistake. He made it abundantly clear that, to achieve a settlement, these aspirations must be set aside and security must be built on different principles.
• We appreciated Donald Trump's openness and frankness back then and we do now. He doesn’t use underhand tactics, and he never conceals his thoughts. We appreciate his emphasis on results. He calls it making a deal in the broad sense of the word.
• We would like to maintain the current dialogue between our Presidents, Foreign Ministers, national security aides, and special envoys of the two Presidents, as well as communication via other channels. We see that the American side wants this too.
• All these Europeans made no secret of their previous and ongoing public efforts to dissuade US leadership from pursuing any constructive measures towards Russia within the context of the Ukrainian crisis. They seek to drag the United States back onto the treacherous path it followed under Joe Biden, when this was “Joe Biden’s war.” The Europeans are determined to make it “Donald Trump’s war” as well. They do not conceal this.
• President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly made it clear that, ultimately, a sustainable agreement means a compromise. We are prepared to seek a compromise provided that our legitimate security interests and the legitimate interests of the Russian people in Ukraine are ensured just as the legitimate interests of other parties to such an agreement are.
• The Trump administration recognises the importance of NATO-related issues. They’ve stated it publicly. There’s an understanding that the referenda in Crimea and other territories cannot be ignored. Any potential agreement must take the outcomes of these referenda into account.
• Undoubtedly, they seek to impede any agreement – they oppose a settlement that would terminate their protracted endeavours to transform Ukraine into a perpetual irritant, if not an explicit threat, to the Russian Federation. That is obvious.
• The war in Ukraine which the West has organised against us has proved that the Euro-Atlantic concepts have not lived up to the promises made during their creation.
• President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated: we have never had, do not have, and will never have any plans to attack any NATO or EU country. Since 2008, we have tabled documents guaranteeing indivisible security and ensuring that no country enhances its security at the expense of others. This was endorsed by all parties within OSCE summits.
• The new emerging economies continue to assert themselves. All forecasts point to this being a long-term and sustainable trend. <...> There is unity both within #BRICS and within the #SCO. We reject domination and diktat, and advocate for indivisible security across all regions.
• We have our own military-political alliances, primarily the Union State of Russia and Belarus. The CSTO and the SCO also have a strong military-political dimension related to ensuring the security of member states. None of these formats ever sought to be hostile towards anyone.
• President Putin advanced the initiative for creating a continental Eurasian security architecture in 2024, starting with joining the efforts and launching dialogue between subregional integration organisations and gradually moving towards a continental agreement.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting media corporation (Moscow, December 15, 2025)
Read in full
Key points:
• Throughout history, Europe has repeatedly been a source of all evil and spawn of deepest crises. <...> Europe is now trying again to dictate to everyone its terms and wishes which seem to be connected with the Ukraine crisis.
• Europe is using it to assert itself, to throw sand in the wheels and scheme against the United States and all those who seek a just settlement.
• The theory and practices of Nazism are being resurrected in Europe, primarily in Brussels but also in Berlin, London, Paris, not to mention the Baltic States.
• Europe is waging a war with us once again with Ukrainians under a Nazi flag, <...> pumping Ukraine with increasingly more modern weapons.
• One of major purposes [of the new US National Security Strategy] is to make Europe know its place and to prevent it from imposing its liberal ways
• The United States wants to set up its policy for opposing China. <...> We are not against competition, however, it should be fair.
• Europeans have theft running in their blood, which we can see from the example of “frozen” Russian assets. By the way, Iranian assets are also partially frozen like Venezuelan assets and assets of many other countries.
• The West, including the United States, do not always has enough power to maintain its domination, and thus they have to resort to dirty, anti-democratic and anti-market methods.
• The West is planning and trying to split the group of the five Caspian states and impose decisions which will not get a consensus of the Caspian countries.
• The second outrageous example is Palestine. Not only was the UN Security Council resolution violated in this case, but also a great number of resolutions of both the Security Council and the UN General Assembly.
• The last year’s developments around the Iranian nuclear programme, the absolutely outrageous illegitimate actions by Europeans, the attempts to put the blame on the Islamic Republic of Iran for the collapse of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (#JCPOA), <...> reaffirms that the entire world order is being subject to most severe tests.
• When Iran was attacked by Israel followed by the United States, we condemned those actions as having absolutely nothing to do with international legality. The key is that so far no one has offered any clear evidence that Iran has violated something, neither the IAEA, nor the Israelis, nor the Americans.
• Russia is firm in its commitment to ensuring the Islamic Republic of Iran its unconditional right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, just as any other country.
• Russia and Iran signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty. We will always support Iran and promote its legitimate rights.
• Our bilateral plans [with Iran] are serious enough as are our plans of cooperation in the world arena. I mean in #BRICS, the #SCO and the #EAEU. This includes the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
• We are also engaged in investment cooperation. In addition to the North–South corridor, there is also such a flagship project as the Bushehr NPP – its construction is ongoing.
• There is a promising format that will help strengthen security in the [Middle East] – I am referring to the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council (#GCC).
• There is the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and we want to work with the Islamic Republic of Iran and with other neighbouring countries, including within this organisation’s framework.
• In recent months, the Islamist Republic has made it clear that it is not seeking war or new conflicts.
• In the United States and certain countries of Europe <...> there are people who have been speaking out in favour of reviving the arms limitation and control frameworks, including transparency measures. Iran and Russia have been proactive in backing this approach.

❗️The Embassy of the Russian Federation has taken note of the opinion piece published in the Mail & Guardian on 19 May 2026, titled “Africa’s new information war: The leaked files that expose a manufactured solidarity.”
We consider this publication a poorly disguised attempt to cast a shadow over the rapidly developing, mutually beneficial partnership between the Russian Federation and the African continent.
❌ It is regrettable that the author decided to make unsubstantiated claims, based on anonymous “leaked documents” from clearly biased sources, which have become somewhat of a tool in the geopolitical smear campaign against the emerging multipolar world order.
The article tries to construct a fake reality, presenting Russia’s diverse and deep ties with Africa as a monolithic and malign “influence architecture”. The allegations are built on a pre-existing and openly racist UK/EU template, which suggests African nations are passive, easily swayed by “elite capture” and “engineered narratives”.
This narrative denies the African nations of the right to be sovereign actors making independent choices according to their own national interests. This colonialistic view reveals the true mindset of those who stand behind this opinion piece.
☝️The key thesis of a “manufactured solidarity” is a direct insult to the decades-long, principled ties between our peoples. Our solidarity is not and cannot be manufactured; it was forged in the crucible of history, through the USSR’s unequivocal support for African decolonization and liberation movements, and it continues today in our joint fight against modern forms of neo-colonialism and for the true democratization of international relations. The foundation of this partnership is not disinformation, but the tangible outcomes of our cooperation, which proudly stands in stark contrast to the hollow platitudes often emanating from Western capitals.
The narrative of the article blatantly ignores the consistent, positive agenda that Russia promotes.
It deliberately overlooks the historic foundation laid by the USSR, which helped build over 300 industrial and infrastructure facilities in Africa and provided education to more than 80,000 African students, establishing educational, scientific, and medical institutions continent-wide. This profound legacy laid the foundation for national industries and skilled professionals in many countries.
The author is desperately trying to avoid concrete facts of our modern day cooperation: as of 2025 Russia’s trade turnover with African countries exceeded $27 billion, a 13% increase fuelled not by political interference but by mutually beneficial economic interest. More than 35,000 African students are currently enrolled in Russian universities, receiving a world-class education, with the scholarship quota doubling since 2019. And last but not least Russia has provided over 200,000 tonnes of humanitarian wheat aid and more than 100,000 tonnes of fertilizers to the continent’s most vulnerable countries.
🤝 These are hard facts of a true partnership.
<...>
While we consistently promote a respectful, mutually beneficial dialogue, we are aware that other powers remain captive to a zero-sum mentality, viewing Africa’s growing cooperation with Russia and the #BRICS nations as a loss of their own illegitimate influence.
These are the same forces that imposed unilateral sanctions, preserved exploitative economic models, and continue to lecture African states on governance from a position of moral superiority they do not possess.
Once again, we would like to reiterate – Russia firmly adheres to the principle of “African solutions to African problems” and seeks to strengthen its partnership with the continent in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

🗓 On October 15, the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution entitled “Addressing Contemporary Forms of Colonialism”.
The draft was prepared by the Group of Friends in Defence of the UN Charter, with Russia’s active participation. 19 states co-sponsored the resolution.
🌐 The resolution is non-confrontational and unifying in nature.
It stresses the need to eradicate neocolonial practices, including interference in internal affairs, unilateral coercive measures, the imposition of unfair international treaties and restrictions on technological development.
These practices are among the most serious obstacles to achieving the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and are a root cause of numerous problems on the UN agenda.
✅ The document was supported by 85 Member States, with 49 voting against and 23 abstaining.
Significantly, its supporters included #BRICS countries and states across Africa, Asia and Latin America, while its opponents were predominantly countries of the “collective West”, many of them former colonial powers. The latter refused to support the document, despite having participated in drafting it and having some of their amendments incorporated into the final text.
The voting results clearly demonstrate that the emergence of a #MultipolarWorld is well underway. Freeing interstate relations from all forms of pressure, subordination and dependence is an integral part of this process.
The Global Majority is unwilling to accept the monopoly held by a small group of countries. For these states, combating neocolonialism is no abstract notion: it is a matter of pursuing sovereign domestic and foreign policies, strengthening their security and preserving their national identity.
☝️ We expect the adopted resolution, which builds on two previous thematic resolutions of the General Assembly, to gain even broader support when it is considered shortly at a plenary meeting of the #UNGA.
This will help firmly establish the fight against all manifestations of colonialism as one of the UN key priorities.
