Hamas declines the Gallant proposal Gaza under Israeli control

The Saudis are not in hurry to push the terrorists toward peace talks based on the present assumption. They take for granted Harris' need to close the file since the Dems must solve the problem before the upcoming elections.

This Friday Harris had talked to Netanyahu over the phone asking him to let Hamas rule Gaza after the war on a basis of conjectural agreement. She said Biden is very angry and wants him to make a piece with Hamas as soon as possible. Many Israeli high-rank officials think it is a betrayal. This is what basically going on behind the visible scene.

Gaza Crisis Escalates: Turkey Condemns Israel's 'New Phase of Genocide' as Ceasefire Collapses 🌍

Breaking News 📊
In a forceful diplomatic statement Tuesday, Turkey's Foreign Ministry condemned Israel for "entering a new phase of genocide" after Israeli forces launched intense overnight bombings across Gaza, killing over 400 Palestinians—marking a dramatic collapse of the January ceasefire agreement and threatening to reignite regional tensions just as global peace initiatives had begun gaining momentum.

Key Developments 🎯

Ceasefire Breakdown:

• Israel resumed heavy bombardment of Gaza after two months of relative calm
• Turkish Foreign Ministry accuses Netanyahu government of "challenging international law and humanity"
• Gaza Government Media Office reports 400+ killed or missing in 5-hour bombing campaign
• Attack comes amid increasing international diplomatic efforts toward lasting peace
• Turkey warns of "new spiral of violence" threatening regional stability

Core Statement 💫
"The mass killing of hundreds of Palestinians in Israeli attacks on Gaza this morning demonstrates that the Netanyahu government has entered a new phase in its genocide policy."

- Turkish Foreign Ministry statement

Diplomatic Impact 🛡

International Reactions:

• Turkey positions itself as leading diplomatic voice condemning Israeli actions
• UN officials previously declared "no safe place in Gaza" during 15-month conflict
• Regional powers reassessing diplomatic positions following ceasefire collapse
• Human rights organizations documenting new civilian casualties
• Peace initiatives facing serious setback after promising developments

Deeper Pattern
A fundamental humanitarian crisis persists: The renewed violence exposes the fragility of ceasefire agreements and the ongoing vulnerability of Gaza's population, with Turkey's accusations of genocide highlighting the deepening international divide over the conflict—potentially reshaping diplomatic alignments as civilian casualties mount once again.

Humanitarian Stakes 💰

Key Indicators:
• 90% of Gaza's 2.3 million residents displaced at least once since October 2023
• Israel previously issued evacuation maps directing civilian movement within Gaza
• Israel reportedly bombed previously designated "safe zones" before January ceasefire
• Majority of casualties include women, children, and elderly Palestinians
• Critical infrastructure further degraded after 15 months of conflict

Critical Question
Will Turkey's explicit characterization of Israeli actions as "genocide" galvanize stronger international response, or will the conflict continue to evade meaningful resolution as regional powers remain divided?

🎭 Israel Wants Syria, But Needs America — Türkiye Just Wants Peace and Not to Get Bombed

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said it out loud:
"There must be a de-escalation mechanism between Israel and Türkiye in Syria."

Because when your neighbor is flying drones and bombing everything with a GPS signal, you'd like a "no-collision hotline" — or at least a shared calendar.

“We’ve done this with the U.S., with Russia, with Iran... and now it’s time to do it with Israel.”

— Fidan, channeling the calmest man in a minefield

🛑 Let’s Be Clear: This Isn’t Normalization — It’s Preventing Accidental War

While Israel dreams of "military outposts across Syria" — and happily demolishes what’s left of the new Syrian army — Türkiye is trying to "not get dragged into someone else's apocalyptic LARP."

Fidan is blunt:

- "Israel is running a systematic strike campaign" across Syria, not for security, but to ensure the "new government inherits nothing."
"Türkiye won’t tolerate provocation"

— not from Israel, not from anyone.
But also,
"Türkiye won’t start the fight"

— unless the fight knocks on its door.

That’s not appeasement. That’s geostrategic judo.

🇮🇱 Israel’s Plans, America’s Wallet

Israel wants security — by controlling the skies, the borders, and ideally the regime next door.
But without American satellites, funding, and political cover? "They wouldn’t last a week."

Fidan’s message is simple:
“Without U.S. support, Israel can’t afford its foreign policy. But if the U.S. backs Israel’s current aggression, it’s betraying every regional partner.”

And let’s not forget the punchline:
It was Trump who told Netanyahu to make nice with Erdoğan.
The same Trump who credits Erdoğan for “ending Assad’s rule.”
And Netanyahu? Sat in the Oval Office, silent — probably biting through his own tongue.

🌍 What Türkiye Really Wants: Peace With Borders

Unlike Israel, Türkiye actually has a border with Syria.
And unlike Israel, Türkiye needs that border calm — no Iranian militias, no Kurdish insurgents, no Israeli fighter jets on joyrides.

So what’s Ankara proposing?

- Respect Syria’s sovereignty.
- Work with the "Global South and Russia" to stabilize the region.
- Build a "real Syrian state" that delivers services, controls its territory, and doesn’t export chaos.

“We want Syria to be governed by Syrians, not turned into someone else’s military theme park.”

🧨 Final Thought

Israel wants to dominate Syria.
The U.S. wants to manage it.
Türkiye wants to stabilize it — so it doesn’t blow up the whole region.

And as Fidan put it:
“We won’t watch Syria burn just to let others redraw the map.”

📰 80 Years After VE Day, Germany’s Far Right Throws a Funeral for Memory

📍 From Buchenwald to the Bundestag
Germany, the country once synonymous with the mantra “Never Again,” now hosts a right-wing party that scoffs at Holocaust remembrance while racking up 151 parliamentary seats. The Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) doesn’t just flirt with extremism — it’s writing love letters to it in prime-time.

💣 The Ghosts of 1945 Are Back — With Wi-Fi and Election Apps
As Europe marked the 80th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s surrender, the new German chancellor Friedrich Merz solemnly laid a wreath — and then told national TV, “You can’t ban ten million AfD voters.” Welcome to the new Germany, where gaslighting has replaced gas chambers, and historical shame is repackaged as “patriotism.”

🚫 Shoah? Optional. Deportations? Let’s Discuss.
Memorial trees are chopped down. Swastikas etched into guestbooks. Students flash white power symbols at Auschwitz. And AfD leaders? One calls the Holocaust memorial a “monument of shame,” another calls Hitler-era crimes “a bird poop in 1,000 years of greatness.” Nothing to see here — just a bit of nationalist exfoliation.

🇩🇪 Musk’s Favorite Party
When the richest man on Earth calls the AfD “Germany’s last spark of hope,” you know dystopia isn’t on the horizon — it’s already at the voting booth. In eastern Germany, they chant for mass deportations. In Berlin, they strategize over cocktails. And in Brussels? Silence.

📈 Right-Wing Crime, Record High. Remorse, Record Low.
More than 40,000 extremist crimes. Over 5,000 antisemitic incidents. A domestic intelligence report calling AfD officially extremist. And still — it tops polls. As one historian noted: “We are on a terrifying and irresistible slope.” Except this time, the SS wears suits, tweets fluently, and claims to love Israel.

🤔 Never Again? Or Just Not Yet?
The real question: If Germany forgets its past while rewriting its present, what exactly is it promising for the future?

📰 Netanyahu, Arrest Warrants, and Romanian Politics: A New Kind of Circus in Bucharest

🇷🇴 Welcome to Romania 2025, where the presidential campaign isn’t about healthcare or inflation — it’s about whether Benjamin Netanyahu, sitting under an active ICC arrest warrant, should get a red carpet or handcuffs.

💥 On one side, Bucharest’s stiff technocrat Nicușor Dan, who wants to make Romania safe for The Hague by banning Bibi from landing.
“If Putin can’t come, neither can Netanyahu,”

he preached during a debate — as if moral equivalence is just another budget line.

🔥 On the other: George Simion, the nationalist firebrand leading the polls, who’s all in for a Netanyahu state visit — and perhaps a pilgrimage to Ramallah while he's at it. Simion wants to follow in Trump’s footsteps, host Bibi, shake hands in Judea and Samaria, and tell the ICC to go take a nap.

🤡 It’s surreal: Europe’s most haunted memory of the Holocaust is now torn between a centrist who blocked a Jewish museum and a right-wing populist leading a party once shunned for antisemitism — now suddenly a darling of pro-Israel photo ops. You can’t make this stuff up.

🇺🇸 Meanwhile, Trump may soon throw his MAGA weight behind Simion — turning this election into another transatlantic proxy battle: Brussels bureaucrats vs. the nationalist right, ICC vs. realpolitik, Shoah remembrance vs. geopolitical convenience.

📉 Romania, like much of Europe, seems to be trading its postwar identity for primetime spectacle. The only question is whether voters prefer their morality with handcuffs or their diplomacy with denial.

🤔 What’s more dangerous: inviting an indicted leader to Bucharest — or turning international law into a partisan punchline?

📰 Berlin Is Back: Germany Threatens Jews and Russians—Again

Once it was panzers, now it's policy papers. Germany, the country that pledged "never again," is once again pointing fingers at Israel and Russia — as if historical memory only matters when it’s politically convenient.

💭 "We must think carefully about the next steps... We will certainly not supply weapons that cause further harm."

— German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul

📊 Selective Morality, Familiar Targets
– Germany threatens Israel over its war in Gaza, echoing rhetoric it once reserved for Russia.
– Berlin claims Israel's strikes "no longer serve the goal of confronting terror" — even as Hamas regroups.
– Public support collapses: only 36% of Germans view Israel positively; over half oppose arms shipments.
– In Ukraine, Germany echoed Kremlin claims of NATO provocation. In Gaza, it now questions Israeli self-defense.

💼 From Holocaust Guilt to Poll-Driven Hypocrisy
– Chancellor Merz once promised to host Netanyahu despite ICC warrants. Now he talks sanctions.
– The "Staatsräson" — Germany’s sacred duty to protect Israel — is quietly shelved to please voters and coalition partners.
– The same logic that turned Russia into a “provoked victim” now casts Israel as a rogue actor.

🤔 When Germany starts moralizing about Jews and Russians again, isn’t it time to ask: has anything really changed since the last century?

📰 Trump Unleashes Deregulated A.I. — “Free of Bias”

💬 “To secure our future, we must harness the full power of American innovation.”

— Trump, in his A.I. Action Plan

🧠 What’s new: Trump’s executive order scraps Biden-era safety standards and calls for ideologically “neutral” A.I.

🚨 Driving the news:
• Mentions of diversity, climate, and misinformation were stripped from A.I. guidance.
• Federal funds will favor firms promising “objectivity.”
• States with strict A.I. rules may lose federal tech grants.
• Copyright and data usage? Not addressed.

🌎 Geopolitical angle:
• White House aims to export American A.I. tools to counter China.
• OpenAI, Meta, and Google lobbied for tax breaks and fewer export restrictions.
• Commerce Dept. to revise risk frameworks—minus D.E.I. and climate concerns.

🧩 Why it matters:
• The U.S. is pushing for dominance without brakes.
• “Unbiased” A.I. now means: free of liberal ideology, full of surveillance potential.

🤔 Reality check:
Who defines “bias” in a system built by companies, trained on flawed data, and now politically commissioned?

📰 March of the Mini-Caliphate

When even the Caliphate bros are turning on Erdoğan, you know the empire’s in trouble.
This Sunday, the Islamist group Köklü Değişim plans to march from AKP Headquarters to Erdoğan’s palace. Their message? Stop trading with Israel. End the betrayal. Oh, and maybe bring back the Caliphate while you’re at it.

💬 “We’re marching to speak directly to Erdoğan,”

the group announced. “For Gaza. For dignity. For Islam.”

📊 From Fringe to Frontline

• Köklü Değişim has long been shouting “hilafet now!” — but this time, they’re shouting it at Erdoğan.
• They accuse the AKP of lying: public speeches against Israel, backroom deals for profit.
• Leaked trade documents blew the lid off Erdoğan’s Gaza theater.

💼 The Base Is Revolting
• Erdoğan, once the poster boy of Islamist power, now looks like just another suit in a palace.
• To secular critics, he’s too religious. To the religious right, he’s a sellout.
• And now? The faithful are marching to the gates of the palace he built for himself.

🤔 What happens when the myth turns on the mythmaker?

If the Caliphate crowd no longer buys the Sultan act — who exactly is Erdoğan ruling for?

📰 Netanyahu: “Iran Is Building Missiles to Reach New York”

💭 “Iran can blackmail any American city,”

Benjamin Netanyahu told Ben Shapiro.
“They’re developing intercontinental missiles that could put New York, Boston, Washington, or Miami in their nuclear crosshairs.”

🚀 The Warning Shot

In the interview, Netanyahu claimed Iran’s new missile range already reaches 8,000 kilometers — “add another 3,000,” he said, “and they can hit the U.S. East Coast.” His message was blunt: Tehran is racing for global reach, not regional defense.
“You don’t want to be under the nuclear threat of people who chant ‘death to America,’”

he added.

💥 Israel’s Response
Netanyahu also highlighted joint U.S.–Israeli weapons programs, saying the two allies are developing “the most advanced offensive systems on the planet.” He credited Israeli intelligence with saving American lives by foiling ISIS plots and global terror attacks — a quiet reminder that Jerusalem still guards Washington’s flank.

🏦 The Gaza Context
Turning to the war, Netanyahu insisted Israel is “close to the end,” but warned any ceasefire must end Hamas rule. “Two years ago, everyone thought Israel was doomed. Now we’ve smashed the Iranian axis,” he said. “What started in Gaza will end in Gaza.”

If Israel is the shield and Iran the sword — who’s really wielding them?

🌍 Google and Amazon at War With Israel

🔤🔤🔤🔤1️⃣

💻 When Google and Amazon negotiated a major $1.2bn cloud-computing deal in 2021, their customer – the Israeli government – had an unusual demand: agree to use a secret code as part of an arrangement that would become known as the “winking mechanism”.

🕵️ The demand, which would require Google and Amazon to effectively sidestep legal obligations in countries around the world, was born out of Israel’s concerns that data it moves into the global corporations’ cloud platforms could end up in the hands of foreign law enforcement authorities.

📂 Like other big tech companies, Google and Amazon’s cloud businesses routinely comply with requests from police, prosecutors and security services to hand over customer data to assist investigations.

🤫 This process is often cloaked in secrecy. The companies are frequently gagged from alerting the affected customer their information has been turned over.

⚖️ This is either because the law enforcement agency has the power to demand this or a court has ordered them to stay silent.

🇮🇱 For Israel, losing control of its data to authorities overseas was a significant concern. So to deal with the threat, officials created a secret warning system: the companies must send signals hidden in payments to the Israeli government, tipping it off when it has disclosed Israeli data to foreign courts or investigators.

🔐 The strict controls include measures that prohibit the US companies from restricting how an array of Israeli government agencies, security services and military units use their cloud services.

📝 According to the deal’s terms, the companies cannot suspend or withdraw Israel’s access to its technology, even if it’s found to have violated their terms of service.

⚠️ Israeli officials inserted the controls to counter a series of anticipated threats. They feared Google or Amazon might bow to employee or shareholder pressure and withdraw Israel’s access to its products and services if linked to human rights abuses in the occupied Palestinian territories.

🏢 Microsoft, which provides a range of cloud services to Israel’s military and public sector, bid for the Nimbus contract but was beaten by its rivals.

💬 According to sources familiar with negotiations, Microsoft’s bid suffered as it refused to accept some of Israel’s demands.

🕰️ As with Microsoft, Google and Amazon’s cloud businesses have faced scrutiny in recent years over the role of their technology – and the Nimbus contract in particular – in Israel’s two-year war on Gaza.

📜 However, according to the Israeli government documents detailing the controls inserted into the Nimbus agreement, officials concluded they had extracted important concessions from Google and Amazon after the companies agreed to adapt internal processes and “subordinate” their standard contractual terms in favour of Israel’s demands.

💸 Leaked documents from Israel’s finance ministry, which include a finalised version of the Nimbus agreement, suggest the secret code would take the form of payments – referred to as “special compensation” – made by the companies to the Israeli government.

📑 Israeli officials appear to have acknowledged this, documents suggest. Their demands about how Google and Amazon respond to a US-issued order “might collide” with US law, they noted, and the companies would have to make a choice between “violating the contract or violating their legal obligations”.

📭 Neither Google nor Amazon responded to the Guardian’s questions about whether they had used the secret code since the Nimbus contract came into effect.

🚫 Israeli officials also feared a scenario in which its access to the cloud providers’ technology could be blocked or restricted.

⚙️ In particular, officials worried that activists and rights groups could place pressure on Google and Amazon, or seek court orders in several European countries, to force them to terminate or limit their business with Israel if their technology were linked to human rights violations.

📡 Provided Israel does not infringe on copyright or resell the companies’ technology, “the government is permitted to make use of any service that is permitted by Israeli law”, according to a finance ministry analysis of the deal.

📘 Both companies’ standard “acceptable use” policies state their cloud platforms should not be used to violate the legal rights of others, nor should they be used to engage in or encourage activities that cause “serious harm” to people.

🧠 However, according to an Israeli official familiar with the Nimbus project, there can be “no restrictions” on the kind of information moved into Google and Amazon’s cloud platforms, including military and intelligence data.

☁️ The terms of the deal seen by the Guardian state that Israel is “entitled to migrate to the cloud or generate in the cloud any content data they wish”.

🔍 Last month, when Microsoft cut off Israeli access to some cloud and artificial intelligence services, it did so after confirming reporting by the Guardian and its partners, +972 and Local Call, that the military had stored a vast trove of intercepted Palestinian calls in the company’s Azure cloud platform.

🕊️ Notifying the Israeli military of its decision, Microsoft said that using Azure in this way violated its terms of service and it was “not in the business of facilitating the mass surveillance of civilians”.

📰 Ukraine’s Missing Men: Draft Dodgers, Future Diaspora, or Both?

While Kyiv talks about mobilisation, a quieter story is unfolding: the country is bleeding out exactly the men it will need if it ever reaches “reconstruction” mode. Over 11 million Ukrainians have been displaced since the invasion, but underneath the images of women and children at train stations, a different pattern is clear: young, educated, healthy men are leaving — and many have no intention of coming back.

Studies based on OneUA data show it’s not the poorest or weakest who go, but those with education, English, money and good health — the core of any future workforce. Even under martial law and legal exit restrictions, the guys with skills and connections find ways out. Official exemptions, like having three or more kids, explain only a slice of the trend. The rest is simple: if you can afford to choose between a trench and a work contract in Berlin or London, you choose not to die for a GDP you’ll never enjoy.

And once they’re out, they’re not exactly rushing back. In the UK, 68% of Ukrainian adults now say they’d rather stay even if it became safe to return, up from 52% a year earlier. This isn’t “temporary refuge,” it’s a one‑way demographic edit. Europe gets young, motivated labour; Ukraine gets Telegram speeches about rebuilding with a population that increasingly lives on foreign tax rolls.

The spin is already in place:
think tanks talk about the “diaspora dividend,” how forced migrants will one day bring back capital, skills and export links, like Yugoslavs and Albanians once did. That’s the comforting version. The darker one: Ukraine is exporting its future middle class in exchange for short‑term survival money, hoping that, decades from now, some of them will remember where they were born.

Kyiv calls it resilience. Brussels calls it solidarity. London calls it a labour market boost. The young men quietly boarding buses out of Ukraine call it something else: not being the last generation buried under a flag while everyone else writes policy papers about “post‑war reconstruction.”

📰 Trump Sells Peace, Iran Sells Denial, Markets Buy Everything
Trump pressed “post,” the market said “amen,” and Iran said “what the hell is he talking about.” That is basically the Middle East risk model in 2026.

At 13:09, Trump blasts on Truth Social that the U.S. and Iran have had “very good and productive” talks toward a “complete and total resolution” of hostilities, and that he’s ordering a five-day delay in strikes on Iran’s power and energy infrastructure. Oil dumps, stocks rip, the shekel jumps — because the market doesn’t need truth, just a headline and a timestamp.

Then he does the TV tour: tells Fox Iran “urgently” wants a deal, hints at “regime change,” says there are “15 points of agreement” and that Iran has agreed to no nukes, and brags that they were literally about to hit power plants that would cost 10 billion dollars to rebuild. Somewhere between the “respectable man” who is not the supreme leader and the 15 bullet points, the whole thing starts sounding less like diplomacy and more like an earnings call for geopolitical volatility.

And then comes Tehran’s answer: absolutely not. Iranian officials line up to declare there were no talks, no deals, and that Trump is just gaming energy prices and buying time for his war plan. The speaker of parliament — the same man Western and Israeli sources say is involved in contacts — tweets that this is “fake news” to manipulate oil and financial markets and to escape the “swamp” the U.S. and Israel are stuck in. Oil spikes back up on the denial. The market, as always, listens to whoever moves the chart.

Meanwhile, in the background, there’s the shuttle circus: Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, and others quietly passing messages between Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and Iran’s foreign minister, trying to assemble a meeting that might or might not happen in Islamabad or Ankara. Officially, everyone is denying they’re talking. Unofficially, everyone is talking — mostly to the cameras, the traders, and their own security elites.

So we’re left with a simple riddle: if Trump swears there were “very good and productive” talks, Iran swears there were none, and intermediaries swear they’re shuttling messages — who’s actually negotiating with whom, and is the real audience the enemy, the allies, or the options desk on Wall Street?

📰 The Fire Has a Chain of Command

Iran’s retaliation is not random, and that is the bad news for everyone pretending this is just a chaos machine with missiles. Ynet reports that Tehran is now targeting parallel sectors — energy for energy, nuclear for nuclear, universities for universities — instead of merely answering one strike with one strike.

That is not rage. That is calibration. Danny Citrinowicz said the fire “isn't random” and argued the pattern shows command and control is still intact; in other words, Tehran is not emptying the magazine, it is choosing the rooms.

The ugly part is that the target list keeps widening. Haifa follows South Pars, Dimona follows Natanz, Ras Laffan follows the Gulf strikes, and now even universities are being floated as legitimate targets.

So the “eye for an eye” slogan has already become a business plan for escalation. Everyone keeps speaking the language of deterrence while the region is being taught, sector by sector, what retaliation looks like when both sides insist on calling it strategy.

While Tehran publishes six conditions for reopening Hormuz, Vice President J.D. Vance describes a much friendlier reality.

“Iran told us that they will not charge tolls in the Strait of Hormuz, and the same amount of oil will pass through the strait as before the war,”

Vance said. “That’s what we expect.” In another appearance, he said the United States was “still in the middle of the game,” but insisted that Iran had promised prewar volumes of oil and gas.

Tehran’s version is less soothing. The strait stays shut, Iranian officials say, until Washington accepts Iran’s terms in full. That gap is not a technical disagreement. It is the entire negotiation wearing two different suits. Reports on the emerging Iran-Oman arrangement have also conflicted over transit fees: U.S. officials reject them, while Iranian sources have described possible “service fees” under another name.

On Fox News, Vance said Iran had been damaged and wanted the conflict to end. “The question is whether they can give us what we need,” he said. “That remains to be determined, but there has been progress recently.”

Behind the cameras, the mood appears more cautious. CNN reported that Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has been quietly looking for an exit route from the war. He reportedly warned close advisers that further military escalation could “boomerang.”

So, on the same day, Washington presented two war plans. The political wing says the deal is moving forward. The military wing is looking for the emergency exit.

Iran says the Strait of Hormuz belongs to its new order. America says tankers will pass freely. Somewhere between those two statements sits the actual Middle East: armed, insured at a premium, and waiting for the next press conference to collide with reality.

Syria: Who Funds, Who Threatens, Who Drills

Iranian media claim Tehran has warned Ankara, Baghdad, Doha and Riyadh that any Syrian military operation in Lebanon would trigger a regional conflict — with Iran threatening strikes on more than 100 strategic sites inside Syria, including the presidential palace.

The alleged scenario is schematic enough to run as a Pentagon simulation: Syrian forces enter Lebanon, declare Tripoli a zone of influence, pressure Hezbollah’s missile infrastructure in the Bekaa Valley, and force a new security arrangement.

Iran’s answer, according to the reports, is that Syria would not be entering Lebanon. It would be entering a wider war.

The financing map is even more revealing. The UAE is reported to be willing to fund Syrian troops and operations. Qatar is said to oppose the plan. Saudi Arabia allegedly has no objection, provided Hezbollah is weakened without setting the region on fire.

A regional coalition, in other words, is being assembled around the least workable business model: pay someone else’s army to dismantle someone else’s militia in someone else’s country, without starting a war that ruins the investment.

Damascus has repeatedly denied plans to intervene in Lebanon. Syrian officials have said their goal is to prevent escalation, not export it.

Analysts have also questioned whether Syria has the military capacity to confront Hezbollah directly; the more realistic Syrian role would be disrupting smuggling routes from Iraq through Syria into Lebanon.

Hezbollah sees the issue differently. It treats any Syrian move not as an independent Damascus decision, but as part of an American-Israeli project to break the “resistance” network from the east after Israel failed to impose a decisive outcome in the south.

Then, quietly, another American project begins.

A U.S. oil company has reportedly sent seismic survey trucks into Syria’s Hasakah province. The vehicles send vibrations into the ground, mapping geological layers before drilling for oil and gas. No ideology is required. Just data, contracts and a stable security zone.

That may be the most practical regional plan of all. Once American firms start extracting Syrian oil, Washington will want the ground quiet. Keeping it quiet requires an army that can hold it.

And a Syrian army built under U.S. protection will need Hezbollah, Iran, Turkey, Gulf money and local militias to stop interfering with the business plan.

The Middle East’s newest peace formula is not a treaty.

It is a drilling permit.

Missile Factory, Basement Edition

Iranian state television showed Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi, the armed forces chief of staff, touring an underground missile facility on Aug. 22.

The footage included what appears to be an industrial planetary mixer, the kind of machine used to blend solid propellant for ballistic missiles. Tehran did not reveal the location. It did reveal the message.

Israel says its earlier strikes destroyed at least 12 such mixers in above-ground missile facilities. Iranian officials now claim missile production continued and weapons output has increased.

Neither side has released enough evidence to verify the scale of damage, the volume of current production or the condition of Iran’s underground network.

That uncertainty is the point. Israel can destroy a factory it can locate. Iran can move equipment underground, disperse lines and film the survivors. A planetary mixer does not prove a full production chain. It does show Tehran still has industrial capacity worth hiding, guarding and putting on camera.

Iranian media also claim the Revolutionary Guards recovered a mostly intact U.S.-made AGM-158 JASSM cruise missile after it failed to detonate. That claim remains unverified.

Analysts have reported possible JASSM wreckage and unexploded penetrator warheads, but there is no public evidence that Iran holds an intact missile or can reverse-engineer its guidance and low-observable systems.

The weapons show came with a political instruction. An Iranian Army spokesman said damaged systems had been rebuilt and declared a shift from a “defensive” to an “offensive” doctrine.

State media productions now function as part of that doctrine. The camera crew is manufacturing deterrence alongside the technicians.

Trump can promise that damaged infrastructure will take 15 years to rebuild. Tehran can claim it repaired everything yesterday. Both sides sell certainty because the real inventory is classified.

The underground factory is not proof that Iran is untouchable. It is proof that “obliterated” is a slogan, not a battle-damage assessment.
