35 years ago Candlemass from Stockholm, #Sweden released their 2nd studio album entitled Nightfall.
In this album #Candlemass changed formation with new vocalist, guitarist and drummer.
Personal note. I bought Nightfall when it came out, after reading a review on the Italian H⚡️M Magazine which ended like: "All Heavy Metal fans must buy this album, it's legend"... and it is!
The whole work still gives me shivers after all those years, mainly thanks to band's mastermind Leif Edling superb songwriting and riffing and the operatic frightening vocals of Messiah Marcolin from #Murano, Venice (his father actually)🤘
The closest thing ever to Black Sabbath debut album, legendary and a must listen!

Death Doom subgenre was very popular in the Heavy Metal scene of those years, thanks to bands such as

I remember choosing my favorite of the genre after listening to this album: #Katatonia🤘probably because their sound contained elements of both Black Metal and Progressive Metal.

40 years ago Bathory from #Sweden released their self-titled debut album.
Bathory is unanimously regarded as one of the most influential albums in Heavy Metal history.
Though never referred as a one man band, #Bathory was entirely shaped by leader, frontman and multi-instrumentalist Quorthon, who started concieving this album as a teenager in early 1980s.
Bathory has always been associated with the so called "first wave of Black Metal" which includes 👉 Venom, 👉 Mercyful Fate, 👉 Death SS,
👉 Hellhammer, 👉 Necrodeath: but none of these bands (though all of them influenced the genre in some way) reached such an extreme level before 1984!
Everything come out as Black Metal until nowadays can be found in this album.

40 years ago, Yngwie Malmsteen from #Sweden released his debut album as Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force.
Originally intended as a side project for 👉 Alcatrazz, Rising Force launched #YngwieMalmsteen (21 at the time) solo career instead, becoming the most iconic Neo Classical Metal album and one of the best #GuitarVirtuoso of all time.
This album has been described as the true inauguration of the guitar shredder's age!
In this album Malmsteen (guitar, bass, moog, arranger, producer) is backed by Jethro Tull's #BarriemoreBarlow (drums), #JensJohansson (keyboards, harpsichord), #JeffScottSoto (vocals).
Mostly instrumental, Rising Force is highly influenced by Malmsteen's classical heroes: Beethoven, Bach, Paganini.
"Icarus Dream Suite Op. 4" based on the Venetian 👉Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor is still one of my all time favorite instrumentals ❤️🔥
