โ During the day, decoys were actively used to expose the enemy's air defence system. As the day's photographs of "knocked down" balloons with corner reflectors show, this method of deceiving enemy radars is effective.

โช๏ธ For several days the main events have been taking place on Bolshoy Potemkin Island to the south, near #Kindiyka to the east and near #Veletenskoye to the west of the administrative centre. The areas have been partly in a "greyzone" for some time now.
๐นIn the Golaya Pristan Sector, an RF Armed Forces man-portable air defence system crew ๐ shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft over #Veletenskoye, while Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft struck the Ukrainian Special Forces of Operation landing area south of #Kizomys with FABs.
โช๏ธ Meanwhile, yesterday the AFU forcibly evacuated civilians from #Veletenskoye and Kizomys as part of preparations for the landing of special forces assault groups on the left bank of the #Dnieper. Bayraktar UAVs are operating almost continuously over #Kherson and #Nikolayev regions.

๐ At the Moment, significant Ukrainian forces with a total strength of over 15,000 men (at least 20 Territorial Defence battalions with attached artillery units, a National Guard brigade and the 71st Separate Jager Brigade of the AFU are concentrated in the #Kherson direction.
At the same time, the redeployment of new formations to the #Zaporozhye region continues. Today, a mechanized battalion of the AFU10th AC's 118th Mechanized Brigade arrived north of #Orekhov to #Tavriyskoye. By 30 April, the 116th, 118th Mechanized Brigades and 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade from #Pavlograd are due to arrive at the #Orekhov and #Gulyaypole sites.
The current manoeuvres of Ukrainian SRGs in #Kherson region look like attempts to divert the attention of the Russian command from preparing a strike in the #Zaporozhye direction. ๐นIn #Zaporozhye Direction, several groups of the AFU attacked locally at the #Rabotino - #Verbovoye line, but after small arms fights they withdrew with losses. Apart from these sorties, it is relatively quiet on the ground. The weather is not conducive to activity. Both sides compensate the lull with artillery strikes. Our army is also firing FABs at the rear of the AFU.
๐นIn #SouthDonetsk Direction, our forces are concentrating on defeating the AFU reserves. West of #Staromayorskoye the rotation was disrupted by strikes. In #Storozhevoye, an accumulation of AFU equipment and manpower was uncovered and hit. Fire suppression of AFU positions near #Novomayorskoye and #Novodonetskoye continues. In the #Mayinka sector, in the offensive on #Novomikhaylovkabrought no significant progress so far. Our forces are attacking from the south and north, the main AFU forces have withdrawn to the centre of the village, the industrial district is in the grey zone. Ours are advancing in the area of the dam between #Maryinka and #Georgiyevka.
๐นIn #Donetsk Direction, on the southern #Avdeyevka flank, our army advanced from #Peski towards #Pervomayskoye, and took control of the AFU positions. Our forces are trying to gain a foothold in the eastern part of the village. Our new attempt to advance near #Nevelskoye has failed so far. On the northern flank, ours continue to storm the AFU positions in the area of a dacha settlement to the east of the Coke Plant and in the area of #Stepovoye, with no changes in the frontline today.
๐นIn #Bakhmut Direction, the AFU withdrew to the southern outskirts of #Bogdanovka, our military entrenched on the northern outskirts, most of the village is grey zone. Ours continue active strikes with artillery. A number of AFU strongholds closer to Chasov Yar were hit by our aviation. The AFU has so far managed to repel our attacks in the area of #Khromovo.
๐นIn #Svatovo Direction, our Aerospace Forces are carrying out heavy strikes on AFU facilities in #Kharkov and its region. According to preliminary data, the strikes hit bunkers and deployment sites of AFU reserves and equipment. Explosions also occurred in the area of 4 Kharkov factories working for the needs of the AFU, producing EW- and missile control systems, engines, etc. From the field it is reported that such intensity of strikes has not been recorded since the beginning of the SMO. On the ground our forces have advanced north of #Novoselovskoye.
๐ฅIn addition, across #Ukraine, another large scale attack took place. A series of explosions occurred at facilities in #Dnepropetrovsk, #KrivoyRog, #Zaporozhye, and #Chernigov region. Strikes were recorded on the railway junction in #Shepetivka. It is reported that a military plant in #Khmelnitsky region was hit. In #Odessa region, the targets were a radio intelligence center and a fuel terminal. Amazingly, Kiev admitted that the AFU was not able to shoot down all the targets, but only 26 out of 59.

๐ฏAt night, Geran UAVs hit enemy targets in #KrivoyRog, #Pavlograd, #Dnepropetrovsk and #Zaporozhye. FABs with UMPC once again hit targets in #Kharkov and the #Kharkov region. Russian analysts have revealed the tendency of official enemy speakers to exaggerate the results of the defeat of #Ukraine's energy facilities in order to mislead our command. So, in #Kharkov, despite the defeat of CHPP-5, blackouts in many areas do not exceed 4 hours a day. Also, the enemy's statements about the degree of damage to the #Dnepro HPP turned out to be exaggerated, although they are significant.
๐นIn the #Kherson direction, the AFU attempted to expand the control zone in #Krynki, small groups of infantry launched counterattacks, but the Nazis were driven back into basements by return fire. The destruction of enemy boats on the #Dnieper continues.
๐นOn the #Zaporozhye front, the RFAF offensive from the south is stalling. Constant attempts to attack in #Rabotino from the southern part are fraught with difficulties, it is in the lowlands. Now our forces are holding positions on the Village street, near the school and the post office in the centre. The heights beyond #Orekhov from the north are of the greatest interest, but this would require a wider coverage of the area by strike units and the highest degree of coordination. The pressure on #Rabotino from the west continues, and our troops are advancing northwest of #Verbovoye.
๐นWest of #Avdeyevka, heavy fighting for #Semyonovka is ongoing. Our troops are also breaking through in the direction of #Tonenkoye - #Umanskoye, there they report the RFAF advance to a distance of up to 1 km. Russian units are pushing the AFU in #Vodyanoye and #Pervomayskoye.
๐นFrom #ChasovYar's outskirts, the Russian advanced units are about 600 m away. An important forest belt has been taken. There is progress from #Bogdanovka. The AFU are strengthening in the town, turning residential buildings into strongholds.

Splintering and holding positions on advantageous lines, while simultaneously stretching our units in depth and slowing down the advance of the Russian Army due to their units left for slaughter.

The total number of enemy personnel is no more than 100 people, the enemy is constrained in the ability to maneuver, but moves from shelter to shelter in #Krynki itself. At 05:00, missiles launched from strategic Tu-95ms entered the airspace of #Ukraine. Multiple explosions were heard in #Dnepropetrovsk, #Pavlograd, #Odessa, #KrivoyRog, #Poltava and #Kharkov regions. Yesterday it also became known that as a result of the strike on the #Dnepropetrovsk airfield, the RFAF destroyed three MiG-29s with cluster munitions. The presence of a Russian UAV conducting objective control over an enemy airfield at the moment of impact was indicative.

๐ฏ The RFAF struck enemy targets in #Odessa and #Ochakov in the #Nikolayev region at night, explosions sounded in the #Kiev and #Cherkassy regions, as well as in #KrivoyRog. During the day, there was an intensive destruction of targets in the #Kharkov region, footage of the TV tower falling in Kharkov was widely distributed.
๐นIn the #Kherson direction, the RFAF has resumed heavy assault operations in #Krynki. FABs with UMPC are actively used on the enemy coast, mutual artillery attacks are ongoing.
๐นOn the #Zaporozhye front, the RFAF repelled enemy attacks in #Rabotino and northwest of #Verbovoye. The frontline is unchanged.

๐ฏThe RFAF launched overnight strikes with "Geraniums" against facilities in #Kremenchuk, #Poltava region, #KrivoyRog and #Dnepropetrovsk region. A massive raid by our UAVs was carried out on #Sumy, with light outages reported in the city. There were also reports of a strike on the Sumykhimprom Plant. In the afternoon the RFAF hit the airfields #Voznesensk and #Mirgorod with missiles.
๐ฅThe AFU attacked the west of #Crimea with air-launched missiles over the past day, our air defence systems worked. During the night, the enemy launched numerous aircraft-type UAVs across #Krasnodar territory, tanks at two oil depots caught fire. ๐ฌ๐ A day earlier, as a result of an AFU UAV attack in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar territory, an energy facility and a residential house were damaged, a girl was killed, and six people were hospitalised.
๐นIn the #Kharkov direction, the AFU unsuccessfully tried to attack near the settlements of #Tikhoye, #Volchansk, #Liptsy, #Glubokoye. ๐ฏ Yesterday was characterised by a massive rocket attack on enemy territory. Explosions were heard in #Kiev (Antonov and Artem Plants), ๐ฌ๐ #KrivoyRog (the administrative building of the Northern Mining and Processing Plant of the Metinvest Group) and #Dnepropetrovsk), near the airfields of #Ozerny in the Zhitomir region and #Starokonstantinov in the #Khmelnitsky region, #Voznesensk in the #Nikolayev region and #Krasnoarmeysk (#Pokrovsk) on the AFU-occupied territory of the #DPR. A Ukrainian air defence missile from a NASAMS SAM struck the Okhmatdet Children's Hospital in #Kiev. By evening, an Iskander was launched from #Crimea at the city of #Zaporozhye.
๐ฅThe AFU launched drone strikes, including aircraft-type strikes, overnight on #Belgorod, #Rostov, #Voronezh and #Volgograd regions. There are civilian casualties. There are reports of a UAV strike on a substation in the #Rostov region and an oil depot in the town of Kalach-on-Don. UAVs were shot down over the #Kursk region.

๐ฏDuring the night, โGeraniโ groups struck enemy facilities in #Kiev, Belaya Tserkva and #KrivoyRog. The strikes on #Izmail in #Odessa region, located on the border with #Romania, were also resumed. Such strikes had not been reported for a long time, and this time the enemy channels wrote about 10 of our UAVs at once. During the day, we should expect the enemy's infor about the Gerani's approach to the target allegedly over the territory of #Romania. Explosions were also reported from the #Chernigov and #Poltava regions.
๐กOver the #Zaporozhye region, at #Melitopol, a group of enemy UAVs heading towards the #Rostov region and #Krasnodar territory was downed at night.
๐นIn the #Kharkov direction, the RFAF repelled enemy attacks near the villages of #Glubokoye and #Tikhoye. In the northern part of #Volchansk, our troops are attempting to gain a foothold south of Korolenko Street in order to bypass a block of multi-storey houses from the east, the enemy reports.
๐นIn the #Svatovo-#Kupyansk section, in #Peschanoye, the RFAF advanced to a depth of up to 800 m in eastern direction. The western part went into the grey zone. It is predicted to increase efforts in the western direction and to reach the eastern bank of the Oskol River (9 km) and the village of #Kruglyakovka. The offensive of our troops near the villages of #Berestovoye and #Peschanoye formed a front ledge 10 km deep and 8 km wide.

Explosions were heard in #Kharkov, #KrivoyRog, #Pavlograd, Kropivnitsky district of #Kirovograd region, #Kremenchuk, Borispol and Obukhov districts of #Kiev region, #Kiev, #Brovary, #Vyshgorod and #Cherkassy.
๐ก3 AFU UAVs were destroyed over the #Bryansk region at night. In #Sevastopol, the military repelled an attack by the AFU, the air defence worked. By 03:30, 2 UAVs were shot down over the sea.

๐นIn the #Kurakhovo direction, west of #Ugledar our troops are consolidating in #ZolotayaNiva. There is fighting towards #Bogoyavlenka.
๐นFrom the #Zaporozhye front they report about the consolidation of our units in the southern part of #Kamenskoye.
๐ฅIn #Kherson region, as a result of an AFU missile strike on the village of #Krasnoye in the Skadovsky district, a private house was completely destroyed. Two boys born in 2010 and 2012, who were playing in a neighbouring yard at the time of the strike, were injured. They suffered minor shrapnel wounds.
๐ฅIn #Belgorod region, the Governor announced the decision of the Belgorod Region Operational Headquarters to evacuate people from #Petrovka and #Solovyevka, Belgorod district, and provide them with new housing due to the constant shelling. In the evening, #Shebekino came under AFU shelling, a woman was wounded. In the afternoon, a drone attacked a GAZelle in #Shebekino, two people were wounded.
๐ฅIn the #DPR, in the settlement of #Zaytsevo in the Nikitovsky district of #Gorlovka, men born in 1977 and 1960 were killed when an explosive object was dropped from an AFU drone.

๐ #OTD in 1943, Zaporozhye was liberated by the Red Army during the Battle of the Dnieper.
The city of #Zaporozhye, which by that time had become a major industrial and logistics hub, was occupied by the Nazi invaders in the first months of the Great Patriotic War.
โผ๏ธ During two years of Nazi terror and occupation, more than 40'000 civilians and POWs were killed in Zaporozhye by the enemy troops.
The Nazis sought to hold the city at any cost, as it had become a key stronghold in the lower reaches of the Dnieper. The Germans had effectively turned Zaporozhye into a major bridgehead within the system of fortifications along the 'Eastern Wall' defence line.
โ๏ธ In the autumn of 1943, the front line was rapidly approaching the Dnieper. On October 4, the units of the Red Armyโs Southwestern Front, commanded by would-be Marshal of the Soviet Union Rodion Yakovlevich Malinovsky, launched an offensive in the Zaporozhye sector.
Having breached the Germansโ outer defence on October 13, the Soviet forces approached the city.
Fierce combat raged for every street, every residential building.
By the end of the day on October 14, following a night-time assault, the Red Army had overcome enemy resistance and liberated Zaporozhye.
The Nazis were deprived of a strategically important bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Dnieper and lost the ability to launch a counterattack. Unable to stop the Red Armyโs advance during its the Zaporozhye peration, the Nazi command ordered the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Plant (DnieproGES) dam to be blown up.
๐ From the testimony given during an interrogation on October 11, 1947 by Kurt Hans Steffen, a former driver with the 520th Engineer Regiment, holding the rank of Obergefreiter:

There were five concealed, well-camouflaged explosive charge sites at the power station and four camouflaged charge sites on the dam itself...
We received the order to blow up DnieproGES from Major Senftenberg (commander of the 520th Engineer Regiment battalion โ editorial note). The explosion was intended to destroy and demolish DnieproGES.
โLeave nothing but scorched earth in our path of retreatโ โ that is exactly what we did.
