The foreign ministers of 🇸🇦#Saudi Arabia, 🇰🇼#Kuwait, 🇴🇲#Oman and 🇧🇭#Bahrain will visit China from January 10-14 at the invitation of China, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.
China is worried about supply security following the turmoil in Kazakhstan, one of its key suppliers.
Analysts said the visitors will want to explore ways to overcome their reliance on the 🇺🇸
#US market and balance Beijing’s close ties to their deadly rival 🇮🇷#Iran

🇨🇳#China sacrificed Russian oil for Saudi
For second year in a row, 🇷🇺#Russia has been losing competition to Saudi Arabia for world's largest oil market
During the year, Russian oil companies sold 79.64 million tons to Chinese (at a price almost 10 times lower than in 🇪🇺#EU)
🇸🇦#Saudi_Arabia increased exports by 3.1% to a record 87.56 million tons. 🇮🇶#Iraq (54.07 million tons) and 🇴🇲#Oman (44.81 million tons) follow. The top 5 is closed by 🇦🇴#Angola, which sold 39.15 million tons to China
Despite attempts to turn economic policy to the East, which are being made by Kremlin after annexation of Crimea, EU remains a key buyer of Russian oil

🇮🇷🔥🇴🇲🇸🇬🇮🇱 On Tuesday, 240 km from #Oman, Shahed-136 kamikaze drone attacked the Pacific Zircon tanker of Singapore's Eastern Pacific Shipping, owned by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.
▪️According to The Times of Israel, the drone was launched from the IRGC base near the Iranian port of Chehbahar
🇮🇱🇮🇷🇱🇧🇸🇾 Perhaps this was a response to the destruction by Israeli drone of 2 Iranian fuel trucks for #Lebanon in the area of Al-Bukamal border checkpoint in #Syria

🇺🇸🇴🇲🇶🇦🇺🇦 The Pentagon and #NATO are talking with a "a couple of Middle Eastern countries" to transfer #NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine over the next 3-6 months
Raytheon declined to name the Middle Eastern countries that would send the system, but purchasers in the region are #Oman and #Qatar, according to Defense Security Cooperation Agency records.
▪️It takes two years to build NASAMS because of the lead time required to buy electronic components and rocket motors, CEO Greg Hayes said.
One might add that if China takes over Taiwan, even more time (and money) will be required.
▪️Even if the Pentagon manages to negotiate with Qatar, the Biden administration else would have to approve the arrangement to transfer the air defense systems to Ukraine, because these systems have a longer range than other air defense equipment Western countries have sent to Ukraine
And here, as usual, dancing with a tambourine about "non-expansion of the conflict" will begin.

Part 1: Global Players on the Chessboard

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 The #Iran nuclear standoff isn’t just a US-Israel-Iran triangle — it’s a crowded board with heavyweights like China, Russia, and the EU, plus regional players like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Here’s who’s moving pieces and how they shape White House policy:

🇨🇳 #China: As Iran’s top oil buyer and a major trade partner, China has leverage. It wants a stable Middle East to secure energy flows and counter U.S. influence. Beijing’s pushing for a nuclear deal to avoid sanctions disruptions but won’t back a U.S.-led strike. This forces Trump to balance tough talk with avoiding a trade war, as China’s economic clout (Israel’s top import source) complicates unilateral moves.

🇷🇺 #Russia: Moscow’s cozy with Tehran, offering diplomatic cover and even proposing to process Iran’s nuclear material for civilian use. Russia sees #Iran as a counterweight to U.S. dominance and a partner in #Syria. Trump’s mention of Putin joining talks suggests Russia could mediate or muddy the waters, limiting White House options if Moscow stalls negotiations.

🇪🇺 #EU: European powers like #France and #Germany want a revived nuclear deal to avoid a regional war that’d spike oil prices and flood Europe with refugees. They’re pressing for UN sanctions if Iran doesn’t comply, but their mediation (e.g., #Oman’s role) softens U.S. hawkishness. Trump’s sidelining Europe for Gulf intermediaries like Saudi Arabia and UAE shows he’s prioritizing allies who align with his “America First” vibe.

🇸🇦🇦🇪 #Saudi_Arabia & #UAE: These Gulf states, bitter rivals of Iran, are cheering for a hardline U.S. stance. They’re hosting talks and pushing for Iran’s containment, fearing Tehran’s regional clout. Their oil wealth and strategic bases make them key U.S. allies, nudging Trump toward escalation if diplomacy fails.

🇮🇱 #Israel: Israel’s military reliance on the U.S. (think F-35s and missile defense) keeps it in check. Netanyahu’s itching to strike Iran’s nuclear sites but won’t act without Washington’s nod. Israel’s signaling readiness (44% strike odds on Polymarket) pressures Trump to avoid looking weak, but a strike risks dragging the U.S. into war, which Trump’s base doesn’t want.

🔻This web of players ties Trump’s hands. He can’t bomb Iran without alienating China and Russia or spiking global oil prices, but he can’t look soft without losing cred with Israel and Gulf allies. The White House’s foreign policy is thus a tightrope: project strength, keep allies happy, but avoid a war that’d tank the economy or his approval ratings.

🇮🇷 IRAN: Developments in the Past Few Hours

⚡️🇮🇱 Netanyahu stated that the strikes have significantly set back Iran’s nuclear program, but fully destroying the key Fordow facility would require heavy bunker-buster bombs like the GBU-57 (MOAB), which only the U.S. possesses.
▪️Israel has focused its strikes on three key nuclear sites: Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. Two of these have sustained significant damage, but Fordow, located deep underground, remains vulnerable.

⚡️🇺🇸 Trump has called for all civilians to immediately evacuate Tehran and demanded Iran’s 'complete give-up'
Long lines of cars have formed as people try to leave Tehran.

⚡️🇴🇲🇶🇦 🇸🇦 Iran has reached out to #Oman and #Qatar, asking them to mediate talks with Washington to halt Israeli strikes and restart nuclear negotiations.
#SaudiArabia is also quietly working behind the scenes to broker a ceasefire agreement aimed at resuming talks.

⚡️🇮🇷 Iranian diplomat Araghchi said that ending the conflict would take just one call from Washington, hinting at the possibility of a diplomatic solution if Israel halts its strikes.

⚡️🇺🇸 U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered preparations for potential U.S. involvement in Israel’s operations against Iran, pending Trump’s approval.

⚡️🇺🇸 Congressional pushback grows: Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced resolutions to block Trump from using military force against Iran without Congress’s approval — The Hill, Рolitico, CNN, Roll Call ❌

Middle Eastern Zugzwang
⁉️🇺🇸🇮🇷Can the US strike Iran without regional allies?

🇸🇦🇦🇪🇶🇦🇰🇼🇮🇶🇯🇴🇴🇲🇦🇿🇹🇷🇵🇰❌🇺🇸Insiders report that #KSA, #UAE, #Qatar, #Kuwait, #Iraq, #Jordan, #Oman, #Azerbaijan, #Turkey, and #Pakistan have refused #US access to their airspace/territory for aggression against #Iran.

➡️ Washington is left with two bad options:

1️⃣ Strike from the sea (Arabian Sea) or Diego Garcia via the narrow Gulf of Oman corridor (<300km).

➡️ The Trap: Predictable flight paths allow Iran to concentrate AD/A2AD in one sector.

➡️ Range Gap: USS Lincoln (JASSM-ER ~925km) vs. Iran (Ghadr-380 >1000km, Drones 1500-4000km).

➡️ Intel: Iranian drones are already shadowing the USS Lincoln group.

➡️ Logistics: Bombers from Diego Garcia (3800-5200km away) carry heavy firepower (B-2/B-52/B1B) but cannot sustain the sortie rate needed to prevent retaliation.

2️⃣ Ignore allies and violate their airspace.

⏺ Risks:
➡️ US branded as an "unreliable partner" (officially).
➡️ Escalation to regional war & Strait of Hormuz blockade (20% of global oil).
➡️ Mass protests and attacks on US bases (Iraq 2020 scenario).

ℹ️SUMMARY: A US attack now is insufficient for regime change. Iran has stabilized internally (crushing protests after the Starlink blackout). This is a diplomatic trap: "No war, no peace."

🕔🌍 Silence in the Ether: The Calm Before the Storm?

⚡️🇦🇪🇷🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦 Abu Dhabi: The Final (or just another?) Round
Negotiations between #Russia, #Ukraine, and the #US have kicked off in the #UAE.

➡️Rustem Umerov (Head of Ukrainian delegation): Consultations are trilateral, followed by separate working groups, then a "re-synchronization" of positions.
TASS confirmed "various formats" are in play.

➡️ Peskov: "The Kremlin does not plan to release statements on the results of the trilateral security group in Abu Dhabi today."
Translation to plain English: There will be no results.

❗️🇷🇺🛰🇪🇺 Space Hijacking

The "Null" Negotiation
⚡️🇮🇷❌🇺🇸 The Art of the No Deal: US-Iran Talks Collapse Before They Began

Nuclear talks between the #US and #Iran in #Oman have collapsed before they even began.

🤍The US Move: An "All or Nothing" ultimatum. Washington demanded Tehran discuss everything (missiles, proxies, regional influence), not just the nuclear program.

🤍The Iran Move: "Then Nothing." The Iranian delegation refused the ultimatum and immediately left the meeting.

☄️The Quote of the Day:
"We didn't expect the Iranians to say no," a US official told Reuters.

➡️ This sentence perfectly encapsulates the disconnect. Washington bet on pressure; Tehran bet on defiance. Now, the diplomatic channel is dead, and Donald Trump is reportedly "considering" military options again. The algorithm of diplomacy has crashed.

The Takeaway:
This is the "Reality that cannot be calculated."
The US administration bet on maximum pressure, assuming Iran was desperate for a deal. They miscalculated. Iran chose escalation over humiliation.
Tomorrow, markets and AI models will be trying to price in a war that logic said shouldn't happen, proving once again: Geopolitics is not an algorithm.

Week in Review: The Calm Before the Storm

‼️🇺🇸 🇮🇷 #US vs #Iran: Pre-Strike Buildup Reaches Critical Mass

What we're witnessing is not "increased pressure" or a "negotiating posture." This is a textbook pre-strike force deployment

➡️ Two carrier strike groups (USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford) are now converging on the Middle East. A single carrier group signals deterrence. Two signal an operation. The combined air wing comprises approximately 240 strike aircraft, including F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, F-35C/A, F-22A, F-16, and F-15E platforms, supported by EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft, E-2D/E-3 AWACS, P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol, and KC-135/KC-46 tankers

➡️ Since mid-January, the US has conducted roughly 200 C-17 Globemaster III transport flights to the region. At approximately $25,000 per flight hour and 11 hours per round trip, transport costs alone exceed $55 million — excluding the deployment of dozens of other aircraft and naval vessels

🇯🇴 THAAD missile defense systems have been deployed to Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base in Jordan, with at least 68 cargo aircraft arriving within five days. THAAD is not a deterrence tool — it's a shield you raise when you know the counterpunch is coming

🇳🇴 The US is withdrawing most of its aviation assets from NATO's Cold Response 2026 exercises in #Norway, scheduled for early-to-mid March. This is a direct resource reallocation from "training" to "operational" status

🇵🇹 Portugal's Lajes Field in the Azores experienced its largest-ever influx of American aircraft: at least 11 KC-46 tankers, 12 F-16 fighters, one C-17 transport, and approximately 400 US crew members transited through on February 18-19 alone. Staging bases are running out of capacity

🔴🕘 Estimated timeline: The strike group reaches peak readiness by late February to early March 2026. The operational window opens in the first two weeks of March. The likely scenario is a 72-hour air campaign targeting Iran's nuclear infrastructure (Natanz, Fordow, Isfahan, Arak, Bushehr) and IRGC command centers — not a ground invasion, but a decapitation of the nuclear program

➡️ Trump's mention of 32,000 Iranian protest casualties is narrative preparation — framing the strike as "liberation" rather than aggression

⚡️🇺🇸✈️Boeing C-17 Modernization: $400M for a "Retired" Workhorse

The US Air Force awarded Boeing a $400+ million contract to fully modernize the C-17A Globemaster III cockpit — for an aircraft whose production ended in 2015. The USAF needs the C-17 flying until 2075. This is not a typo. An aircraft designed in the 1980s is being prepared for service into the 2070s. The 200 transport flights to the Middle East in one month are a better justification for this investment than any Pentagon report

🇮🇱 🇦🇪 #UAE - #Israel: Shin Bet Embedded in the Emirates

A leaked UAE Ministry of Interior document reveals a secret agreement embedding seven Shin Bet agents directly within the command centers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and all seven emirates. Agents were issued Emirati identity cards for undercover operations. A joint Mossad-Shin Bet office was established at Expo 2020. Israeli "consultants" operate under the direct supervision of local police chiefs

This leak is either a deliberate signal from someone in Abu Dhabi seeking distance from Israel ahead of the Iran strike, or Iranian intelligence demonstrating awareness of Israeli-Gulf coordination. Either way, the message is clear: the Emirates are already inside the operation, whether they acknowledge it publicly or not

🇯🇵 🇩🇪 #Japan and #Germany have repeatedly urged their nationals working at US facilities in the Middle East to leave. MFAs across multiple countries have been issuing similar warnings for at least three weeks — routine noise until embassy evacuations begin, which marks the real countdown

⚠️As a reminder: in early February, #KSA, #UAE, #Qatar, #Kuwait, #Iraq, #Jordan, #Oman, #Azerbaijan, #Turkey, and #Pakistan officially or privately warned the United States that they would not allow their airspace, land, or waters to be used for aggression against Iran

🇮🇷 #IRAN: News Summary, March 1st
Chaos in the Middle East

⚡️🇺🇸 Four US Air Force B-2A Spirit strategic bombers conducted a series of strikes on targets within Iranian territory, executing a non-stop trans-Atlantic flight from Whiteman Air Force Base with mid-air refueling last night. They have since set a return course.
➡️ The #US has officially confirmed strikes by B-2A Spirit bombers using 2,000-lb GBU-31(V)3/B JDAMs, based on BLU-109B penetrator bombs, against fortified Iranian ballistic missile production facilities.

🇺🇸 Trump stated that US forces have sunk nine Iranian ships and plan to sink the rest.
• CENTCOM announced the sinking of an Iranian Navy Jamaran-class corvette at the pier in the Iranian port of Chabahar.

• Images have been released of a burning Iranian Alvand-class frigate, equipped with 4 Chinese C-802 anti-ship missiles, at the neighboring naval base in Konarak (only 12 km away).

• The US also released a video (above) showing BGM-109 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) being launched from the destroyer USS Thomas Hudner (DDG-116) at Iranian targets in support of Operation "Epic Fury" on March 1, 2026.

• CENTCOM provided a preliminary summary of Operation "Epic Fury" and the targets hit in Iran. Submarines are listed among them.

❗️Retaliatory Strikes:

🇫🇷 🇦🇪 Two Iranian Shahed-136 drones struck the French Naval Base "Camp de la Paix" near Port Zayed in Abu Dhabi, #UAE — after which #France decided to urgently redeploy the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" to the Eastern Mediterranean.

🇩🇪🇮🇶🇯🇴 German troop deployment sites in #Iraq and #Jordan were also attacked by Iranian drones.
Two Jordanian F-16s with AIM-120 and AIM-9 air-to-air missiles were scrambled to intercept Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

🇦🇪 An Iranian Shahed-136 drone attacked a United Arab Emirates oil platform in the Persian Gulf.

🇺🇸 The IRGC once again attacked the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea with four ballistic missiles.

🇺🇸🇮🇶 Iran launched a missile strike on a US military base in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan (video below).

🇺🇸🇰🇼 US military personnel recorded a video of an Arash-2 kamikaze drone strike on the US base Camp Buehring in #Kuwait.

⚡️🇺🇸🇧🇭 Iran struck a naval base near the port of Salman in #Bahrain.

➡️ On the map — US bases in the Middle East subjected to confirmed strikes by Iran over the past 24 hours.
So far, Iran has attacked US and allied bases in 15 countries:
– 🇮🇱 Israel
– 🇺🇸 United States (bases)
– 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates
– 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
– 🇶🇦 Qatar
– 🇰🇼 Kuwait
– 🇯🇴 Jordan
– 🇮🇶 Iraq
– 🇧🇭 Bahrain
– 🇴🇲 Oman
– 🇸🇾 Syria
– 🇨🇾 Cyprus
– 🇫🇷 France (Camp de la Paix, UAE)
– 🇮🇹 Italy (in Kuwait)
– 🇬🇧 United Kingdom (in Cyprus)

Friendly Fire
🇪🇬🇵🇼🇴🇲🇬🇮 An Iranian oil fleet tanker — Skylight — registered to Red Sea Ship Management LLC (#Egypt) and sailing under the flag of #Palau, was attacked by the IRGC five nautical miles off the coast of Musandam, #Oman, and continues to burn and sink.
In total, Iran has managed to attack three tankers, two of which belong to Iran itself via proxies (one from the "shadow fleet" — Skylight) and a small #Gibraltar bunkering vessel (Hercules Star).

❗️🇺🇸 Trump stated that the war with Iran could last about a month.

⚡️🇦🇪 The #UAE authorities announced the suspension of trading on the Dubai and Abu Dhabi stock exchanges on March 2 and 3.
The Emirates are closing their embassy in Tehran and recalling their ambassador.

⚡️🇮🇱 The Israel Defense Forces announced the call-up of 100,000 reservists.
IDF Chief of Staff Zamir: "We still have many days of fighting ahead of us. We need patience now."

🇩🇪🇫🇷🇬🇧 #Germany, #France, and the #UK stated their readiness to take "defensive actions" to "destroy" Iran's military potential.

‼️🇮🇱🇬🇷🇩🇪 "Wing of Zion" — Israel's "Air Force One" — flew out of Tel Aviv yesterday afternoon, circled over the Mediterranean for four hours, then set course for Greece and eventually landed in Berlin, where it will remain until the end of the war in the Middle East.

🔥Second phase of the war: neither oil nor water
ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE IN THE MIDDLE EAST · Part 2: #WATER & #URANIUM

⚡️BREAKING:
🇺🇸 🇮🇱 🇮🇷 Axios, citing informed sources, reports negotiations between the US and Israel on plans to send special forces into Iranian territory to seize uranium stockpiles:
The US is considering deploying special forces to capture Iran's nuclear arsenal.

❗️Note: in the editors' opinion, this may be a planted story — the US lacks the capacity for a ground operation.

⚡️"Trump has privately expressed serious interest in deploying American troops on Iranian soil" — NBC News
➡️ Why haven't they been deployed yet, and why did the attack through Iraq stall?

📝 ⚔️Information warfare in progress:

🇦🇪 🚀🇮🇷 The #UAE struck an Iranian desalination plant for the first time — Israeli media

🇮🇷🚀 🇦🇪 The UAE, in turn, claims that Iran struck the Emirates hardest, carrying out 42.8% of all attacks (over 1,276) — more than double Israel's 20.1% (approximately 600 attacks).

🇰🇼 🇧🇭 🇸🇦 Next in scale is #Kuwait at 16.8% (approximately 500 attacks), while #Bahrain (6.6%) and #Saudi_Arabia (5.4%) account for a smaller share of the nearly 2,981 recorded attacks.

🇮🇷🚀🇧🇭 Bahrain's Ministry of Interior stated that an Iranian drone caused "material damage" to their desalination facility.
💧 Persian Gulf states rely on desalination for more than 85–90% of their drinking water.

🇶🇦 #Qatar depends on desalination for nearly 100%
🇰🇼🇧🇭 #Kuwait and #Bahrain ~ 90%
🇴🇲 #Oman — 86%
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia — 70%.

🇧🇭 Bahrain allows the US to use its territory to strike Iran, and confirms that the US previously bombed an Iranian desalination plant.
The strike was carried out after US airstrikes, supported by Israel, hit an Iranian desalination plant on Qeshm Island.

🇺🇸 When asked whether the US attacked a water desalination plant in Iran, Trump responded in classic fashion:
Iranians are "some of the most vicious people on Earth," "They cut babies' heads off..."

As seen in the video, Witkoff and Hegseth nod in agreement.
