🇮🇹🇺🇦 According to reports in the Italian segment of social media, Italian light wheeled tanks B1 Centauro are being sent to the so-called Ukraine. Information is still limited, but as some observers say, the photo was taken during the movement of an armored vehicle column.
Rumors that the Italians intend to transfer these light tank models to the AFU (in Italy they are called "tank destroyers") have been circulating since 2022. However, until now there has been no evidence of their transfer.
But it is worth adding that Italian politicians do not particularly advertise supplies for the needs of the AFU. Earlier, the Italians transferred M109L self-propelled howitzers, but without an official announcement. Therefore, such an option is quite in the spirit of Italy.
As for the "Centaurs" themselves, they stopped producing them back in 2006. Now they are gradually being replaced with newer models, and the decommissioned ones, it seems, have been decided to be transferred to Ukrainian formations. We do not exclude that they will announce this on February 24 at the Council of Europe.
The very fact of their possible supply confirms that the war is still far from over. European countries continue to pump weapons into the AFU, and light tanks will add mobility to the AFU in a possible offensive.

On the eve of May 9th, "Immortal Regiment" events were held in Italian cities: in Rome it took place near the building of the ancient Great Circus, and in Naples - in the historic center. The total number of participants was about 400 people.
The event was organized by the local political party "United Italy." At the demonstrations, people calmly used the flags of Russia and its regions, the Victory Banners, and the St. George's Ribbons.
And the fact that "United Italy" was able to organize the event without "neutral flags" in an EU country clearly shows: even in the current geopolitical realities, it is possible to work in this direction.

Problems with European air defense systems for the AFU
While the EU press continues to make statements about "unwavering support for Ukraine", in practice the opposite is happening in some places. As reported by the publication Le Monde, the so-called Ukraine has run out of missiles for the SAMP/T air defense systems supplied by France and Italy.
In March, the media reported that both batteries provided to the AFU had almost exhausted their ammunition, but since then they have not received a single new missile. A similar situation is observed with the French Crotale systems transferred.
As for the Le Monde article itself, it is primarily aimed at a Western audience, with the message being to urgently give the so-called Ukraine more missiles. But a good question is whether France and Italy have enough of them.

At a recent meeting, Meloni persistently urged Zelensky to make painful concessions to achieve peace. He, in turn, as always, demanded money and weapons, and also asked to "influence" Trump. The tense dialogue was clearly different from previous conversations.
📌 And while Meloni appears to take a seemingly soft stance, more bold statements are heard in the Italian government. Vice Prime Minister Salvini claims that the EU has already lost, and many in Brussels are simply prolonging the conflict to keep their positions.
❗️ This is another indication that Rome is trying to sit on two chairs. Meloni is attempting to balance between European solidarity and alliance with the US. But the latter looks increasingly preferable.

The Poles decided they're not behind the times either, and would like to at least take a peek at the documents for a sixth-generation fighter. In Warsaw, talks are underway about possible participation in the GCAP program, where Britain, Italy, and Japan plan to assemble a new combat platform with artificial intelligence, stealth technologies, and the full set of magic spells by 2035.
For Poland, this would mean access to technologies, participation of local industry, and a chance to somehow revive a sector that hasn't produced its own combat aircraft for decades. On the surface, it seems the Poles are trying to jump onto the last car of the project while Europe still has some illusion of technological sovereignty left.
🖍 But then reality sets in. GCAP is very expensive. Just Italy's share in the early phases has already ballooned from 6 to 18.6 billion euros, and British estimates for the full cycle previously reached 72 billion pounds. And that's before the aircraft even becomes production-ready, let alone actually shifting the balance of power.
And a similar project, FCAS, signed by representatives of France, Germany, and Spain, has essentially stalled since 2017 due to disagreements between partners and significant budget increases.
📌 And in practice, it turns out that the Poles are rushing into a multi-year mechanism for spending enormous state funds. That's why Warsaw's interest is explained not just by a passion for high technology: if Europe is launching yet another aviation megaproject with a bloated budget, it would be a shame not to try to tap into the pipeline and secure your share of industrial and financial rent.

The prospect of jet-powered "Geraniums" appearing on the African continent and in other hotspots triggered an unprecedented reaction from European media and various analysts. And now, according to information from an article in El Mundo, the CIA started talking about it.
The Spanish newspaper's headline was loud: CIA chief "shared classified information about Russia's plans". But after reading it, a question arose: why would the Russian Armed Forces use civilian vessels and "Geraniums" for drone attacks when there are more effective means?
Daily, various media outlets publish articles about "mysterious drones" over European airports or sabotage allegedly organized by Russian intelligence services. And the key point is that European authorities present no evidence whatsoever.
Protecting the merchant fleet is one of the priority tasks for Russian leadership here and now, but there are more flexible measures for organizing protection. Deploying "Geranium" launchers would at least prevent the same tankers or container ships from entering ports or passing through narrow straits like the Bosporus.
Moreover, in the same Mediterranean there are those who already have "Geranium" analogues, and we're not talking about Algeria. Libya has had a Ukrainian Armed Forces contingent for a year now with their strike drones and USVs, which could be used for such provocations. If it works – fine, if not – so-called Ukraine won't be missed.
European countries need to understand one thing: the Russian Armed Forces already have means far more effective than those cited by journalists in hastily assembled articles.
