🔺 Lisa, a Newly Converted American Muslim "Islam is the true advocate of women's rights. That was the moment when my eyes opened to the truth, and I realized Islam genuinely upholds women's rights." 🌐 @rahyafte_en #Islam #WomensRights #ConvertStories
"Islam is the True Advocate of Women's Rights"
✍️ As narrated by Lisa, a newly converted American Muslim.
🔸 A Journey of Faith
Lisa, a 31-year-old from Michigan, grew up in a Christian household—her father being Catholic and her mother a devout Protestant. Converting to Islam brought challenges to her family relationships, yet it opened her eyes to a deeper truth. Despite respecting her mother's open-mindedness, Lisa always questioned Christian doctrines, leading her on a path of spiritual discovery.
🔸 A Life-Changing Experience in Morocco
While teaching English in Morocco, Lisa lived with a Muslim family, witnessing their modest lifestyle and observing their hijab. Out of curiosity, she tried wearing the hijab herself. What started as a brief experiment turned into a daily practice for three months, awakening a new sense of inner peace.
🔸 The Turning Point
Back in the U.S., Lisa, discontent with her banking job, shifted her focus to photography. During a project on hijab, a Muslim friend introduced her to the Bible’s references to veiling women (Corinthians 11:6). This sparked a deeper reflection on women’s rights, societal expectations, and the exploitation of women's bodies in Western culture.
🔹 “The West uses women's bodies for profit. Is this feminism? Or a violation of women’s dignity?”
🔸 Discovering the Quran's Message
Lisa found Islam's perspective on women empowering. After studying the Quran and Islamic texts, she admired the respect and rights Islam grants to women—unlike the often degrading views she perceived in modern Christianity.
🔸 Becoming a Muslim
Even before embracing Islam, Lisa wore the hijab, facing challenges but finding strength. On a Friday before Ramadan in 2011, she entered a mosque and declared her faith by saying the Shahada. The peace she felt in that moment confirmed her decision to follow the path of Islam.
💬 “I now walk the straight path, grateful for the gift of hijab that guided me here.”

🔶 Tahereh Lalcheh Geran (Chikako Nakata) – A Japanese Revert to Islam
🌟 Tahereh Lalcheh Geran, a 37-year-old Japanese woman previously a Christian, embraced Islam after an inspiring journey of research and reflection. She was introduced to Islam during her interaction with an Iranian visitor to Japan, who proposed marriage on the condition that she would accept Islam after understanding it.
After a year of studying Islamic books provided by the Iranian Embassy in Japan and four months of living in Iran, she embraced Islam on May 15, 1996 (25/2/1375) and married her husband. Today, she resides in Iran, holds Iranian citizenship, and feels deeply content with her life.
🕌 On Becoming a Muslim:
"From the moment I heard the name of Islam, I felt reborn—a rebirth marked by pride in adopting hijab, modesty, and chastity. I also took pride in choosing a beautiful name and identity that reflected this transformative journey."
🕌 Visiting Holy Shrines:
"During my visits to sacred sites like Mashhad, Qom, and the shrine of Imam Khomeini, I first thanked God for guiding me to Islam. The grandeur of these places deeply moved me, especially in Syria, where my husband explained the oppression faced by Imam Hussein (AS) and his family. In Lebanon, I witnessed the devastation caused by the Zionist regime. These experiences made me realize the profound oppression faced by Muslims."
🕌 The Role of Women in Islam vs. Christianity:
"In Islam, women hold an important role in religious and political matters, unlike in Christianity, where participation is often limited to attending church on Sundays. For instance, during the Islamic Revolution, women played a vital role, and even today, their fervor remains strong. This is a stark contrast to Japan, where societal engagement tends to diminish quickly."
🧕 On Hijab and Modesty:
"I have fully embraced the Islamic dress code and take pride in adhering to it strictly. Covering my hands, wearing thick socks, and maintaining modesty bring me a joy I had never experienced before. However, it saddens me that some women in Iran, knowingly or unknowingly, do not observe proper hijab."
🌟 Tahereh also highlighted the warm relationship she shares with her in-laws, contrasting it with the colder family dynamics in Japan. She plans to remain in Iran and is committed to improving her Persian language skills and deepening her understanding of Islam.

🌟 From Christianity to Islam: A Journey of Discovery 🌟
When I first encountered Islam in 1978, I was a young woman, skeptical and curious. I had always felt something was missing in my faith, and one day, a stranger handed me a newspaper saying, “Muhammad speaks.” I brought it home, and my father said, “This is the true Islam.” That was just the beginning.
After a visit to the mosque, where the imam spoke about worship and serving God, I was deeply moved. It was different from what I knew in Christianity, where Jesus was the center of everything. I realized that Islam’s concept of worship was much broader, encompassing all aspects of life. I was intrigued by the teachings, and soon after, I embraced Islam.
💫 Becoming Muslim
After becoming a Muslim, I faced challenges, especially with fasting during the hottest time of the year. But I soon learned that Islam isn’t about hardship; it’s about simplicity and peace. I struggled with wearing the hijab at first, but the more I learned, the more I embraced it, realizing it was a symbol of modesty and respect for myself and others.
🌿 The Importance of Education
My journey didn’t stop with conversion. I noticed that many Muslim women, including myself, lacked understanding of our true rights and responsibilities as women in Islam. This led me to found the "Healthy Life for Muslim Women" organization. Our goal was to educate women on the distinction between cultural practices and the true teachings of Islam.
💪 Empowering Muslim Women
We began by educating women about their rights, marriage, family, and health. Over time, the organization grew, and we reached hundreds of women across the country. Our work extended to non-Muslim women, many of whom converted to Islam after learning about its beautiful simplicity.
🌙 Islam is the Path to Peace
I learned that Islam teaches peace, balance, and fulfillment. It offers guidance in every aspect of life, from health to personal relationships. And above all, it’s about submission to God’s will. When we trust in Him, we find strength and purpose, no matter the challenges we face.
🌟 Grateful for the Journey
I am forever grateful for the guidance I received through the Quran, the community, and my journey into Islam. This is a path of knowledge, empowerment, and connection with God. It’s a path that has changed my life, and I’m proud to walk it every day. 🙏🏼

🇩🇪 German Woman’s Journey to Islam: From Searching to Inner Peace
✅ “Six months after moving to Dubai, I said the Shahada and embraced Islam by wearing the hijab.”
She spent years searching for peace, trying to fill the emptiness in her life with social gatherings and friendships. But true tranquility remained elusive—until she encountered Islam.
🔹 Raised around Muslims, her older brother had already embraced Islam and married a Turkish Muslim woman. However, it wasn’t until she moved to Dubai at 30 that she began to observe the beauty of the Muslim way of life.
🔹 At first, she distanced herself from Muslims and mainly socialized with Europeans, but over time, she grew fond of the warmth, respect, and security in the Muslim community.
🔹 Facing immense pressure from her past friends and family, she remained steadfast in her faith, despite their attempts to make her renounce Islam. Reading the Qur’an became her source of strength and peace.
🔹 She vividly recalls a time when she and her friend mocked Muslims for attending Friday prayers, viewing them as a security threat. Now, looking back, she wonders: “Why did we think that way? Why did we fear their communal prayer?”
🔹 Despite a difficult year filled with rejection, one friend, Kate, stood by her side, offering unwavering support—even though she herself was not Muslim.
🔹 Now, years later, she is happily married in Dubai, living a life filled with faith, respect, and tranquility—something she had been searching for all along.

🔺 Maryam (Nikita), the Native American Revert: "Islam has so many beautiful and astonishing teachings that I don’t even know where to begin. One of the most fascinating aspects is the Names of the Merciful God, each reflecting one of His magnificent attributes."…
As for the issue of hijab, I initially wore a simple headscarf, much like what was worn in Christian traditions. However, since the Trump administration, there have been challenges in public spaces, where I’ve been labeled as "unclean" just for wearing my hijab. I believe that more people need to be educated about the beauty and wisdom behind modesty in Islam.
In the United States, particularly in major cities, there are many Muslims, especially Native Americans who have converted. However, in smaller towns, Muslims often face discrimination or misunderstanding. The most powerful thing I have learned through my conversion is that Islam brings peace, simplicity, and a sense of purpose to life. It’s a faith that calls for unity, humility, and dedication to Allah.
Women, I believe, have the most significant role in spreading the true message of Islam, as long as they represent it with clarity, strength, and grace. Despite all the challenges ahead, Islam is a beacon of light for those who seek the truth.

Western culture entered the country through the door of unveiling. And when it came in, it did not just fight hijab — it fought prayer, it fought zakat, it fought enjoining good, it fought forbidding wrong, it fought chastity, it fought family honor, and it fought all the manifestations of faith. 🌟 Maria Farasis: An Italian Woman's Journey to Islam 🌟
https://rahyafteha.ir/102934/
Maria Farasis, an Italian woman who embraced Islam, shares her inspiring story of discovering faith and finding true dignity for women in a religion she calls "complete and comprehensive."
🧕 From Curiosity to Conversion
· 20 years ago, Maria knew nothing about Islam and felt dissatisfied with her lifestyle
· Her journey began when she met her Iranian husband, who introduced her to Persian culture and Islamic civilization
· Through studying books about Iran and Islam, she discovered the connections between Islam, Christianity, and Judaism
· "Islam is a complete religion that has clear answers for all life's needs," Maria explains
💫 Why Islam? The Dignity of Women
· "One of my criteria for becoming Muslim was preserving women's dignity and self-respect"
· "While in Western culture a woman is a tool, Islam has given women status"
· "In Western countries, women who choose to not cover lose their character, modesty, and chastity"
· "In Islam, women's modesty and virtue are preserved"
🛡️ Resisting Western Cultural Invasion
Maria warns about Western efforts to undermine Islamic values:
· "The enemies are trying to impose Western lifestyle on Iranian men and women through various tools like cinema"
· "Women in the West have become instruments and tools - we must ensure this doesn't happen in Iran"
· "To stop Western influence, domestic clothing production should be strengthened and promoted"
🧭 Finding Her Path to Shiism
· Maria expresses gratitude for meeting a Shia man that facilitated her journey to Islam
· "The school of Imam Hussein (AS) played a significant role in my becoming Shia"
· Despite initial challenges with hijab in hot weather, she found joy in being respected as a person rather than being viewed as an object
⚠️ A Warning About Cultural Changes
Having visited Iran for 20 years, Maria observes:
· "In my opinion, Iran has changed - Westerners have transferred their culture to this country"
· "When I see some young girls and boys, it's like I'm facing American youth"
· "Clothing should give value to humans, not take away their value - this is important for society"
Maria's journey reminds us that Islam offers women genuine dignity in a world that often reduces them to objects. Her story is a testament to the power of Islamic values in an increasingly materialistic world.

What Does the Hijab Really Mean? 🧕
You know, one of the most common questions people ask is: "Why do you wear that thing on your head?" 🤔
And honestly, it's amazing — I've asked Muslims why women cover their hair, and maybe one out of a hundred can give the real answer from the Quran. How can we expect non-Muslims to understand if we ourselves aren't clear?
The Quran itself tells us why we cover our hair.
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَآءِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ
"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused."
— Surah Al-Ahzab (33:59)
First: It’s to identify ourselves as Muslim women.
This is an act of truthfulness — so everyone knows who we are. We wear it with pride. 🙏
But it says so much more.
My hijab tells you:
"What stands before you is a woman of enormous strength, enormous courage, and integrity."
This woman will not lie, cheat, or deceive.
She will be the best employer, the best employee, the best friend, the best advisor.
You can trust her. 🤝
And it’s a warning to everyone:
"What stands before you is a woman who knows her worth.
She knows her value.
She is not a toy — so don’t even try to play with her."
This is a woman you take seriously. ⚠️❤️
My hijab lets people know straight up:
I choose to be set apart.
I want you to know who I am.
This is what you can expect from me — and this is what I expect from you.
So when you come near me:
Leave your profanity somewhere else — I won’t hear it.
Don’t bring me gossip — I don’t eat the flesh of my brother. 🙅♀️
This is what my hijab means.
This is how it identifies me — as a Muslim woman, consciously, courageously, completely.

🌿 Misloun Kaj: From Venezuela to Islam
🔹 My transformation did not happen overnight; it was a gradual process. It began with developing a deeper understanding of Islam and a stronger sense of belonging to it.
🇻🇪 Misloun Kaj was born in Caracas, Venezuela, into a Lebanese-descended family. As a child, she attended a Catholic school and knew very little about religion. Her family was not particularly religious, and she struggled with many questions about Islam.
❓ Why do women have to wear hijab while men don't?
❓ Why do women stand behind men during prayer?
❓ Why can my brothers do things that I cannot?
These questions remained with her for years.
📚 Her journey toward Islam was gradual.
At university, she became increasingly interested in Islam and began researching the experiences of converts. She visited both Shia and Sunni mosques and encountered a Latin American cleric whose approach to Islam deeply impressed her.
🌍 Her interest in Lebanon also grew, particularly during the 2006 Lebanon War. Seeing the media coverage and the response of Lebanese and Venezuelan communities led her to become politically and socially active.
❤️ She later traveled to Lebanon and spent six months there, wanting to understand the country, its people, and the roots of their dignity, resilience, and attachment to the Prophet's family.
She was particularly touched by:
✨ The strength of family relationships
✨ Love for the Ahl al-Bayt
✨ Devotion to Lady Fatima (sa) and Lady Zaynab (sa)
✨ The spirit of resistance and solidarity
🧕 Her religious transformation also changed her relationship with her family.
Her mother was unhappy with the changes and questioned why she prayed so much and had become so serious about religious practices.
But her father was different:
💭 In the end, Misloun also came to rethink the relationship between religion and politics:
🌱 Her story is not one of a single moment of conversion, but of questions, research, experience, and a gradual journey toward faith.
