🔹 Verse 87 – Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah and Mahdawi Exposition 🌙 The Noble Verse اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حَدِيثًا “Allah—there is no deity except Him. He will…
🔹 Verse 88 – Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah and Mahdavi Insight

🌙 The Noble Verse

“So what is [the matter] with you that you are [divided into] two groups regarding the hypocrites, while Allah has made them relapse [into disbelief] for what they earned? Do you wish to guide those whom Allah has sent astray? And whomever Allah leaves astray – never will you find for him a way.” (An-Nisa 4:88)

✍️ Wilayah Narration

✅ Imam Ali (peace be upon him) 💬 Razin ibn Hubaysh narrates: The Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) said: “When a person dies and is laid in the grave, two angels (Nakir and Munkar) come to him. They ask about his Lord, then his Prophet, then about his Wali and Imam. If he answers correctly, he is saved; if not, he falls into punishment.”
A man asked: “How can someone know God and His Prophet but not know the Imam?”
Imam Ali (a.s.) replied: “Such a person is bewildered – neither accepting nor rejecting the Imam. This one falls under this verse: ‘And whomever Allah leaves astray – never will you find for him a way.’ He has no escape.”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, v.3 | Bihar al-Anwar

🌟 Wilayah Insight

🔹 This verse highlights the danger of hypocrisy and the fate of those who, by their deeds, are distanced from divine guidance. According to Imam Ali (a.s.), the ultimate criterion for salvation in the grave is recognition of the Imam.

🔹 Whoever denies or doubts the Imam’s Wilayah lives in confusion in this world and faces punishment in the next. This timeless measure of true guidance is Wilayah.

✨ Mahdavi Insight

🔸 In the age of occultation, this same standard remains firm. Whoever does not recognize his living Imam will be lost in trials and confusion. Imam Ali’s (a.s.) narration reminds us that accepting the rightful Imam is the key to salvation.

🔸 In the end times, hypocrites and hidden agents of division fuel people’s confusion by rejecting Wilayah. The only safe path is holding to the Wilayah path.

✅ Wilayah & Mahdavi Conclusion

✔️ True faith means faith in Allah, His Messenger, and the rightful Imam.
✔️ In the age of occultation, the Wilayah of Imam al-Mahdi (a.j.) is the only path; whoever abandons it strays into bewilderment.
✔️ Hypocrites always seek to divide the Ummah by rejecting true Wilayah.

🔹 Verse 158 – Surah An-Nisa | A Qur’anic Perspective on the Ascension of Jesus and the Awaited Imam

🌙 The Noble Verse

“Rather, Allah raised him up to Himself. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.”
(An-Nisa 4:158)

✍️ Wilayat and Mahdavi Narrations

1. Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him):
He said: On the night when Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him) was martyred, Imam Hasan (peace be upon him) stood in the mosque of Kufa and declared:
“Tonight, a man has departed this world whose equal was never seen by those before him, nor will those after him see his like. I swear by God, he died on the same night as:
– Joshua (Yushaʿ ibn Nun), the successor of Moses (peace be upon him),
– Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him) was raised to the heavens,
– And the Qur’an was revealed.”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 3, p. 508 / Al-Kafi, vol. 1, p. 457

2. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family):
He said: During the Miʿraj (ascension), when I reached the second heaven, I saw two men who looked alike. I asked:
“O Jibra’il, who are these two?”
He replied: “They are your cousins, Jesus and John (peace be upon them).”
We greeted and prayed for each other. They said:
“Welcome, O righteous brother and noble Prophet of God.”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 3, p. 510 / Nur al-Thaqalayn

3. Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him):
In a dialogue with the Roman emperor, he said:
“Jesus (peace be upon him) lived in the world for 33 years before God raised him to the heavens. He will descend in the land of Damascus and it is he who will slay the Dajjal (Antichrist).”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 3, p. 510 / Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 14, p. 247

✨ Wilayat Reflections

🔹 The ascension of Jesus (peace be upon him) reflects the divine elevation of God's chosen servants, beyond material limits—just as the Wilayah of the Imams transcends natural norms.
🔹 The connection between the ascension of Jesus and the martyrdom of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) reveals a profound spiritual kinship between Prophets and the Ahl al-Bayt.

✨ Mahdavi Reflections

🔸 Just as Jesus (peace be upon him) was hidden from public sight, the Qa’im from the Family of Muhammad (may Allah hasten his reappearance) is in occultation—both will return in the end-times to establish global justice.
🔸 In the End Times, Jesus (peace be upon him) will join the mission of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) and pray behind him. This indicates the superiority of Imamate over previous legislative prophethood.

✅ Wilayat & Mahdavi Conclusion

✔️ The ascension of Jesus (peace be upon him) is a Qur’anic truth, supported by the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt, and forms part of our eschatological beliefs.
✔️ His future return will complement the mission of Imam Mahdi, yet the leadership of this final divine movement belongs exclusively to the Imam of the Age.
✔️ This verse lays the Qur’anic foundation for belief in occultation, return (rajʿa), and global reappearance.

🔹 Verse 166 – Surah An-Nisā’ | A Qur’anic Affirmation of Divine Wilayah and Mahdawiyyah

🌙 The Noble Verse

“But Allah bears witness to what He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge. And the angels [too] bear witness. And sufficient is Allah as a witness.”
(Surah An-Nisā’, 4:166)

📜 The Wilāyah-Based Narration

✳️ Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
“‘But Allah bears witness to what He has revealed to you’ means that Allah bears witness to what He revealed to you about Ali (peace be upon him). ‘He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness. And sufficient is Allah as a witness’—this revelation is grounded in divine knowledge, affirmed by the angels, and God's testimony alone suffices to establish the truth of Ali’s (a) divine authority.”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a), vol. 3, p. 530; Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 36, p. 93; al-Burhān; Nūr al-Thaqalayn; Tafsīr al-Qummī

🌟 Wilāyah and Mahdawī Insight

This verse powerfully underscores that the matter of Imam Ali’s (peace be upon him) divinely ordained leadership (wilāyah) is not merely inferred from human interpretation, but is a subject of explicit divine testimony. Allah Himself affirms what He has revealed concerning Ali (a), with the endorsement of the angels—rooted in divine knowledge and final in its authority.

According to the narration from Imam al-Sadiq (a), what Allah testifies to in this verse is the revelation of verses concerning Ali’s wilāyah. This divine testimony is a conclusive proof upon the ummah, leaving no room for denial or evasion.

🔸 From a Mahdawī perspective, this verse fortifies the line of divine leadership (wilāyah) from Imam Ali to Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon them both). Just as the beginning of this sacred path was divinely testified to, its continuation until the advent of the final divine savior remains grounded in knowledge, scripture, and celestial witness.

🔹 Verse 168 – Surah An-Nisā’ | A Wilāyah and Mahdawī Elucidation

🌙 The Noble Verse

“Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit injustice—Allah will never forgive them, nor will He guide them to any path.”
(Surah An-Nisā’, 4:168)

📜 Ḥadīth 1

🔸 Imam al-Bāqir (peace be upon him) said:

“Those who committed injustice against the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them)—Allah will never forgive them, nor guide them to any path except the path to Hell, where they shall abide eternally. And that is easy for Allah.”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a), vol. 3, p. 532; al-Kāfī, vol. 1, p. 424; al-Burhān

📜 Ḥadīth 2

🔸 ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Qummī (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates:

When the verse regarding the Wilāyah of Amīr al-Muʾminīn ʿAlī (peace be upon him) was revealed and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) took the covenant from the people, some outwardly accepted it while inwardly denying it. After the Prophet's demise, they disbelieved and committed injustice. Allah will neither forgive them nor guide them to any path.”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a), vol. 3, p. 532; Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 31, p. 576; al-Burhān

🌟 Wilāyah and Mahdawī Reflection

This verse closely links two grave spiritual crimes: disbelief (kufr) and injustice (ẓulm). According to the narrations, these terms specifically point to those who denied and oppressed the rightful Wilāyah of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)—especially after the event of Ghadīr when allegiance to Imam ʿAlī (a) was formally taken.

From a Wilāyah-based perspective, those who broke this covenant committed not only theological rejection but historical oppression. And from a Mahdawī lens, this verse stands as a divine warning to all who—throughout history—turned their backs on the leadership appointed by God. The reappearance of Imam al-Mahdī (may Allah hasten his reappearance) will unveil these long-concealed injustices, making the truth of Alawī Wilāyah manifest to all.

🧭 Summary of Wilāyah and Mahdawiyyah

The verse’s "disbelief and injustice" refer to denying and oppressing the Wilāyah of the Prophet’s household.

The Qur’an promises no forgiveness or guidance for those who rejected divine authority after being shown the truth.

Imam al-Mahdī (a) will expose this oppression and restore the forgotten truth of Wilāyah, fulfilling the divine justice foretold.

🔹 Verse 170 – Surah An-Nisā’ | A Wilāyah and Mahdawī Exegesis

🌙 The Noble Verse

“O mankind! Indeed, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe—it is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then surely to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.”
(Surah al-Nisā’, 4:170)

📜 Narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)

1. Imam al-Bāqir (peace be upon him):

“O people! The Messenger brought to you the Wilāyah of ʿAlī (peace be upon him) from your Lord.”
“So believe—it is better for you,” means: believe in the Wilāyah of ʿAlī (a), for that is better for you.
And if you disbelieve in it, it will not harm Allah—for He is the Sovereign of the heavens and the earth.

📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a), vol. 3, p. 532; al-Kāfī, vol. 1, p. 424; Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 24, p. 224; Taʾwīl al-Āyāt al-Ẓāhirah, p. 149; Nūr al-Thaqalayn

2. Imam al-Bāqir (peace be upon him):

Regarding “So believe—it is better for you,” he said: It refers to belief in the Wilāyah of Amīr al-Muʾminīn (peace be upon him).”

📚 al-Ṣirāṭ al-Mustaqīm, vol. 1, p. 273; al-Burhān

3. ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Qummī (may Allah have mercy on him):

In many Qur’anic verses, the term "the Truth" (al-Ḥaqq) refers to the Prophet (s) and Imam ʿAlī (a)—as in:
“And if the Truth had followed their desires, the heavens and the earth would have been corrupted…” (Surah al-Mu’minūn, 23:71)
That is, had the Prophet and Imam ʿAlī (a) followed the whims of Quraysh, the order of creation would have fallen apart.

📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a), vol. 3, p. 532; Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 9, p. 225; Tafsīr al-Qummī, vol. 2, p. 92

✨ Wilāyah and Mahdawī Perspective

This verse portrays the Prophet (s) not only as the bearer of law and scripture, but also as the bearer of the Wilāyah of Imam ʿAlī (a), as ordained by God. The Wilāyah of the Imams is the continuation and completion of the Prophetic mission. Faith is incomplete—and even rejected—without acceptance of this divinely appointed leadership.

Notably, the verse addresses all humanity with "O mankind!", indicating that the call to believe in Wilāyah is universal and eternal. Therefore, the message is not limited to the Prophet’s contemporaries—it extends until the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdī (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

📌 In the Age of Occultation, acting upon this verse includes:

Believing in the living Proof of Allah—Imam al-Mahdī (a)

Following the path of Wilāyah, established by the Prophet (s) and entrusted to his successors

Awaiting the reappearance of the one who is the continuation of "al-Ḥaqq" brought by the Prophet and Imam ʿAlī (a)

🧭 Summary Points:

The “truth” (al-Ḥaqq) refers to both the Prophet and Imam ʿAlī (a)

The Prophet’s mission included delivering the message of Wilāyah

Belief in Wilāyah is the best path for all people and all times

Imam al-Mahdī (a) is the current bearer of this truth in occultation

🔹 Verse 173 – Surah al-Nisāʼ | Wilāyah-Based Tafsīr from the Ahlul Bayt (AS)

🌙 The Noble Verse

“As for those who believed and did righteous deeds — He will give them their full rewards and increase them out of His bounty. But as for those who were too proud and disdainful, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will find for themselves no protector or helper besides Allah.”
— [Qur'an 4:173]

📜 Tafsīr of Ahlul Bayt (AS)

🗣 Imam al-Bāqir (AS) said:

Regarding the phrase: “...and He will increase them out of His bounty”, the “bounty” (faḍl) referred to here is the Wilāyah (Divinely-appointed leadership) of the Ahlul Bayt (AS).

➡️ In other words, God not only rewards the righteous believers, but He grants them the Wilāyah of the Commander of the Faithful (Imam ʿAlī) and the Imams (AS) — a gift greater than any worldly reward.

📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 3, p. 540
📘 Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 24, p. 61 / Manāqib, vol. 4, p. 421

✨ Wilāyah and Mahdawī Insight:

🔸 God’s Bounty = The Wilāyah of the Ahlul Bayt (AS)
True reward in the Qur’anic worldview is incomplete without Wilāyah. Believers must not only have faith and good deeds — they must also accept the Wilāyah of the Prophet’s family (AS).

🔸 In the Era of Major Occultation, this divine bounty manifests as recognizing and following Imam al-Mahdī (AF). His Wilāyah is the condition for the acceptance of deeds and the key to divine guidance.

🔸 Those who reject Wilāyah, described in the verse as “arrogant,” will face “a painful punishment” — having no protector or helper besides Allah.

— Qur’an 4:174

📜 Tafsīr from the Ahlul Bayt (AS)

1. Imam al-Ṣādiq (AS):

“Al-Burhān (the proof) is Muhammad (PBUH), and al-Nūr (the light) is ʿAlī (AS).”
🔸 The “proof” is the Prophet, and the “light” is the Commander of the Faithful.

📘 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 3, p. 540
📚 Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 9, p. 197 / Ta’wīl al-Āyāt, p. 150 / Nūr al-Thaqalayn

2. ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Qummī (RA):

“The Light (al-Nūr) refers to the Imāmah of Amīr al-Muʾminīn (AS).”
🔹 It is the Imamate of Imam ʿAlī (AS) — the manifest light that guides toward true spiritual direction.

📘 Tafsīr al-Qummī, vol. 1, p. 159

3. Imam ʿAlī (AS) – On the Layers of “Light” in the Qur’an:

In various verses of the Qur’an, the term “Light” (Nūr) has different but interconnected meanings:

📖 “Allah is the Guardian of the believers; He brings them out of darkness into light” → the light of faith.
📖 “To bring people from darkness into light” → the light of divine guidance.
📖 “They wish to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths” → the light of Islam and the truth of Muhammad (PBUH).
📖 “We have sent down to you a manifest light” → the light of Wilāyah of Imam ʿAlī (AS) and the Imams of Guidance.
📖 “Their light will shine before them and on their right” → the light of faith and righteous deeds that shines through Wilāyah.

📘 Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 90, p. 21

✨ Wilāyah & Mahdawī Perspective:

🔸 According to the Ahlul Bayt (AS), “the proof” (burhān) is the Prophet, who illuminated the path of truth. But that path is incomplete without the “light” (nūr) — the Wilāyah of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (AS), described by the Qur’an as clear, manifest, guiding, and the criterion of truth.

🔸 In the Era of Occultation, this divine “Light” continues through the presence of Imam al-Mahdī (AJ). Though hidden, his light still illuminates the path for those who believe. The true Awaiter (muntadhir) lives in the glow of this light and never distances from it.

🔹 Surah al-Ma’idah – Verse 1 | A Wilāyah-Centered Tafsir from the Ahlul Bayt (a)

🌙 The Noble Verse

“O you who believe! Fulfill (your) contracts...”
📖 Surah al-Ma’idah, Verse 1

📜 Tafsir of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them)

1. Imam al-Jawad (a):

“The Messenger of Allah (s) took allegiance for the caliphate of ʿAli (a) from the people on ten occasions... Then Allah revealed the verse: ‘O you who believe, fulfill the covenants’ — referring to the covenants taken for the leadership of Amir al-Mu'minin (a).”

📘 Tafsir Ahlul Bayt, vol. 3, p. 558
📚 Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 36, p. 92 / Al-Burhān / Tafsir al-Qummī, vol. 1, p. 160

2. The Prophet Muhammad (s) — narrated by Imam al-Bāqir (a):

“The Prophet (s) secured allegiance to ʿAli (a) in ten different places... Then Allah revealed: ‘Fulfill the contracts.’”

🔹 This confirms that the Wilāyah of Imam ʿAli (a) was not only a political instruction but a divine covenant imposed on the believers.

📘 Tafsir Ahlul Bayt, vol. 3, p. 558
📚 Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 36, p. 191 / Saʿd al-Suʿūd, p. 121

3. Imam al-Sadiq (a):

When asked by al-Mufaddal about the meaning of “bahīmat al-anʿām” (beast of cattle) in the verse, the Imam replied:
“The ‘beast’ (al-bahīmah) here refers to the Wali (Divinely Appointed Leader), and the ‘cattle’ (al-anʿām) refers to the believers.”

📘 Tafsir Ahlul Bayt, vol. 3, p. 558
📚 Tafsīr al-ʿAyyāshī, vol. 1, p. 290 / Noor al-Thaqalayn / Al-Burhān

🧭 Wilāyah-Themed Reflection

🔹 This verse opens with a direct address to the believers:
“O you who believe…”

🔸 And the first divine instruction that follows is:
“Fulfill your covenants.”

🔹 From the perspective of the Ahlul Bayt (a), the chief covenant being referred to here is the Covenant of Wilāyah — the pledge to the leadership of Imam ʿAli (a).

🔸 Thus, allegiance to the Imamate is not merely theological—it is a sacred, Qur'anic contract with Allah.

✨ Concluding Moral Insight

✅ If we truly claim faith, we must uphold the covenant the Prophet (s) secured for ʿAli (a).
✅ Rejecting Wilāyah is, according to the Ahlul Bayt (a), a breach of a divine oath.
✅ In the Qur’an and the logic of the Ahlul Bayt (a), faith is incomplete without Wilāyah.

These individuals had been entrusted with large sums of money during Imam al-Kazim’s lifetime. With the Imam’s passing, they denied the rightful successor in order to retain control over the wealth. This betrayal led to the birth of the deviant sect of Waqifiyya.

One of its leaders, Ali ibn Abi Hamzah al-Bata’ini, is described in hadith as:
"A liar and accursed."
Imam al-Kazim (a) is reported to have said to him:

"O Ali, you and your followers are like donkeys!" [(Rijal al-Kashshi, p. 404)]

⚠️ This statement isn't an insult, but a truthful exposure of their spiritual corruption. The Qur’an uses similar language when describing the Jews who rejected divine revelation:

"The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah but failed to uphold it is like that of a donkey carrying books."
📖 [Jumu‘ah 62:5]

🔍 Why such a comparison?
Because just like those Jews, these individuals rejected divine guidance out of greed and arrogance, fabricating a false sect and opposing the rightful Imamate.

🟤 The Jewish Spirit: Greed, Stubbornness, and Denial

The Qur’an paints a clear picture of the Jewish character:

🔹 “You will find them the greediest of people for life—even more than the polytheists. Every one of them wishes to live a thousand years!”
📖 [Baqarah 2:96]

🔹 “They kill the prophets unjustly.”
📖 [Baqarah 2:61]

🔹 “You will surely find the most hostile to the believers are the Jews and the polytheists.”
📖 [Ma’idah 5:82]

They denied truth, opposed prophets, and claimed racial superiority.

Yet, the verse:

“He has preferred you over the worlds”
📖 [A‘raf 7:140]
does not indicate eternal superiority, but merely Allah’s rescue of the Israelites from Pharaoh at that time—not moral or racial excellence.

📚 Even scholars like Allama Tabataba’i interpret the abundance of prophets among Bani Israel as a sign of their intellectual weakness and constant deviation, not virtue.

Proof? After miraculously crossing the sea, they told Prophet Musa (a):

“Make for us a god like they (the idolaters) have gods.”
📖 [A‘raf 7:138]
To which Musa (a) replied:
“Indeed, you are an ignorant people!”

🥀 So we see: their stubbornness, ignorance, worldliness, and arrogance all reflect a spiritual disease.

🟥 The same disease afflicted Ali ibn Abi Hamzah and his group. Just as the Jews rejected the Torah, these men rejected the Ahlulbayt (a). Their love for the dunya made them stand against truth and manufacture a sect.

Imam al-Ridha (a) later described them in the same spirit as the Jews who said:

“Allah’s hand is chained.”
📖 [Ma’idah 5:64]
—meaning they limited divine authority for material gain.

🔍 Tafsir of Surah Al-Ma’idah, Ayah 44 — Through the Teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)

"Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light... and whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed — they are the disbelievers."
(Qur’an 5:44)

💎 Key Insights from the Ahl al-Bayt (a):

1️⃣ This verse was revealed about the Ahl al-Bayt (a)
Imam al-Baqir (a) said:

"This verse was revealed about us."
(📚 Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 23, p. 193 | al-‘Ayyashi, vol. 1, p. 322)

2️⃣ The Conditions of Imamate
Imam al-Sadiq (a) outlines the traits of a true Imam:

Infallibility (Ismah)

Complete knowledge of halal & haram

Deep understanding of:
- Clear and ambiguous verses
- Abrogating and abrogated rulings
- Inner meanings and divine wisdom of the Qur’an

“Imams are not prophets, but they raise the people through their divine knowledge.”
(📚 Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 25, p. 149 | al-‘Ayyashi, vol. 1, p. 322)

3️⃣ "Istuhfizu" vs. "Hummilu"
The term "bima istuhfizu" (entrusted with) suggests a divine trust, not mere outward preservation.
It alludes to the cosmic guardianship (Wilayah Takwiniyyah) of the Imams.

⚠️ Qur’anic Warning:
Those who reject divine laws while knowing the truth are labeled as disbelievers:
"And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed — they are the disbelievers." (5:44)

This applies to anyone who knowingly turns away from God's command.

🔗 Linked Verses:

Surah Fatir states:
"Only those who truly fear Allah among His servants are the scholars." (35:28)
This shows that only divinely guided scholars—pure from sin—deserve to lead.

💡 Conclusion:

The Ahl al-Bayt (a) are the rightful inheritors of divine knowledge and guardians of the Qur’an.

Any governance not based on divine law leads its people toward disbelief.

Recognizing the infallible Imam is the only path to salvation.

✨ "Glad tidings to the one who clings to their Wilayah!"

🌟 The Divine Word Completed in Truth and Justice 🌟
📖 Qur’an, Surah Al-An‘ām (6:115)

“And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice. None can alter His words, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
(Qur’an 6:115)

🔹 The Qur’anic Verse and Its Deeper Meaning

This verse proclaims the perfection and immutability of Allah’s Word. It emphasizes two attributes:

Truth (ṣidq): absolute authenticity and divine certainty.

Justice (‘adl): perfect equity that governs creation and divine decree.

No one can change or distort His words, and He alone fully hears and knows all.

🔹 The Imams as the Manifestation of the Divine Word

According to the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), this verse points to the divinely appointed Imams who embody God’s Word in truth and justice.

🕊️ Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) said:

“This verse refers specifically to the Imams. O Yūnus! The Imam is created by Allah’s own Hand, and none is entrusted with his creation besides Him. Even in the womb, Allah grants him hearing and sight. When he is born, it is written upon his shoulder:
‘And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice; none can change His words, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.550; al-Kharā’ij wa al-Jarā’iḥ, v.2 p.569

🔹 Signs of the Imam at Birth

Imam al-Bāqir (a.s.) described ten signs that distinguish a divinely appointed Imam:

1. Born circumcised.

2. Immediately gazes at the heavens and testifies to lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muhammad rasūl Allāh.

3. Inscribed upon his right arm: “And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice…”

4. He does not walk arrogantly.

5. He never yawns.

6. He is never subject to nocturnal impurity.

7. The devil cannot approach him.

8. The fragrance of his body, even in private matters, is like musk, and the earth conceals all of it.

9. He casts no shadow, for he is light from the Light of God.

10. His supplication is always answered.
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.552; al-Ṣirāṭ al-Mustaqīm, v.1 p.108

🔹 The Heavenly Preparation of the Imam

Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) explained:

When Allah wills the conception of an Imam, the father is given seven leaves from Paradise before union.

While in the womb, a pillar of light connects the Imam to the heavens.

At four months, a special angel descends to inscribe upon his right arm:
“And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice…”
📚 al-Kāfī, v.1 p.385; Biḥār al-Anwār, v.25 p.42; Dalā’il al-Imāmah, p.146

🔹 Imam al-Kāẓim (a.s.) added:

“When the Imam is born, he places his hand upon the earth, lifts his head to the heavens, and bears witness: ‘There is no god but Allah.’”
📚 Biḥār al-Anwār, v.24 p.178; Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.552

🌍 Spiritual Reflection

The verse (6:115) is not merely about divine scripture—it is about the living Word of God, embodied in the Imams. Just as the Qur’an is protected from corruption, so too are the Imams divinely preserved, their lives reflecting truth and justice.

Their very existence is proof that Allah’s covenant is unbreakable, His justice manifest, and His Word eternal.

✨ Takeaway:
The Imams are not ordinary leaders chosen by men; they are divinely appointed manifestations of God’s Word, carrying a heavenly sign inscribed upon them:
“And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice.”

🌟 The Danger of Following the Majority 🌟
📖 Qur’an – Surah al-An‘ām (6:116)

“If you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you away from the path of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture, and they do nothing but guess.”
(Qur’an 6:116)

🔹 Qur’anic Reminder

This verse warns us against the illusion of majority opinion. The Qur’an makes it clear: the truth is not determined by numbers. The majority may follow conjecture, baseless assumptions, and cultural trends—but truth is anchored only in divine guidance.

🔹 Teachings from Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)

🕊️ Imam al-Kāẓim (a.s.) said:

“O Hishām! Allah condemned the idea of the majority, saying: ‘If you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you away from the path of Allah.’ He also said: ‘Most people do not know,’ and ‘Most of them do not perceive.’”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.566; Biḥār al-Anwār, v.1 p.134; Tuḥaf al-‘Uqūl, p.383; al-Kāfī, v.1 p.15

🕊️ ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Qummī explained:

The meaning of “they will mislead you away from the path of Allah” is:
“They will confuse you regarding the Imam, for they are divided and conflicting about him.”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.566; Tafsīr al-Qummī, v.1 p.215; al-Burhān

🕊️ Another Tafsīr by al-Qummī:

“They follow nothing but conjecture, and they do nothing but guess” means:
“They speak without knowledge, relying only on speculation and approximation.”
📚 Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, v.4 p.566; Tafsīr al-Qummī, v.1 p.215

🔹 Reflection

🔸 The Qur’an and the Imams expose a timeless truth: following the majority can lead one away from God. Popular opinion often rests on whims, speculation, and shallow trends rather than divine wisdom.

🔸 True guidance lies not in the voice of the many, but in the path of the few—the divinely appointed Imams, the living embodiment of Allah’s Word.

🔸 The verse is a clear call to intellectual independence and spiritual vigilance: do not let numbers deceive you; let the truth guide you.

🌍 Key Lesson:
Truth is not a matter of majority vote. Even if the world follows conjecture, the believer must anchor themselves in the path of Allah through His chosen guides.

🌿 The Divine Prostration and the Light of the Prophet and His Successors 🌿 📖 Surah al-A‘raf, Verse 11 “We created you, then We formed you, then We said to the angels: ‘Prostrate before Adam.’ So they all prostrated except Iblis; he was not of those who bowed.”…
“O Muhammad! These are My friends, My successors, My chosen ones, and My proofs after you.
By them I will manifest My religion, exalt My word, and purify the earth from My enemies through the last of them.
I shall make him the master of the East and the West, subdue the winds for him, and make the clouds obedient to his command.
I shall support him with My hosts and angels until My call is raised above all and all creation unites upon My oneness.
His rule shall endure, and the days shall rotate among My chosen ones until the Day of Resurrection.”

🌸 Reflection
The story of the angels’ prostration before Adam is not merely the tale of man’s creation.
It is the unveiling of the Light of Muhammad and his holy progeny (ع) — the very purpose of existence.
Through them, the heavens learned to glorify.
Through them, the earth found its balance.
And through the final of them — al-Mahdi (عج) — the world will once again return to divine order and unity.

🕊️ “Were it not for you (O Muhammad), I would not have created the heavens.”

🌿 O Children of Adam — Beware the Deceiver 🌿 “O children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you, as he caused your parents to be expelled from Paradise, stripping them of their garments to show them their shame. Surely he and his tribe see you from where you cannot…
🌿 When False Leaders Claim Divine Legitimacy 🌿

“And when they commit an indecency, they say: ‘We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has commanded us to do it.’ Say: Indeed, Allah does not command indecency. Do you say about Allah what you do not know?”
(Qur’an 7:28)

💭 Humanity’s oldest excuse for corruption is imitation — “We found our fathers doing it.”
But in this verse, Allah exposes a deeper deceit: people not only justify wrongdoing by tradition, but also falsely attribute their sins to divine command.

📜 Imam Musa al-Kāẓim (peace be upon him) explained:

“Have you ever seen anyone who claims that Allah has commanded adultery, drinking wine, or any of these forbidden acts?”

I said, “No.”

The Imam replied: “Then the ‘indecency’ referred to here is not those acts — it is the false claim of tyrannical rulers who said that Allah had ordered them to appoint leaders whom He did not appoint. They lied against Allah, and this false claim was the indecency (fāḥishah) He condemned.”
(Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 5, p. 78 | al-Kāfī, vol. 1, p. 373 | Biḥār al-Anwār)

⚖️ This verse and hadith unveil a profound spiritual warning:
When leadership and authority are detached from divine will, when people justify illegitimate rule or deviation in God’s name, that is the greatest corruption — the fāḥishah of false Imamate.

🕊️ Truth and purity lie in following the Imams appointed by Allah — those who continue the path of truth and justice through divine guidance.
In every age, there are those who claim holiness for worldly power. The believer must discern — not by ancestry or popularity, but by truth revealed through divine authority.

🌸 Allah never commands injustice. He commands truth, purity, and rightful guidance.

🌿 The Quranic Warning Against Apostasy After the Prophet ﷺ 📖 A Deep Reflection on Surah Āl ʿImrān, Verse 144 "Muhammad is but a Messenger; messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is slain, will you then turn back on your heels? He who turns…
“O Messenger of Allah, God was witness to how they broke my pledge,
how Ṭalḥah and al-Zubayr led ʿĀʾishah to Basra under the pretense of ḥajj and ʿumrah,
and how they fought me, until twenty thousand Muslims were slain.
I endured as You commanded —
‘Be patient, as were the steadfast Messengers before you.’
Indeed, by Allah, this is the true interpretation of His saying:
‘Muhammad is but a Messenger… If he dies or is slain, will you turn back on your heels?’”
(Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 2, p. 780)

Thus, Imam ʿAlī (ع) personifies the shākirīn — the “grateful ones” — mentioned at the end of the verse, those who remain steadfast on the divine covenant despite betrayal and bloodshed.

🌅 The Ever-Living Message

This verse, enriched by the words of Ahl al-Bayt (ع), carries a timeless message:

• The Prophet ﷺ is the Seal of Prophets — but divine guidance does not die with him.

• The Imams (ع) are the inheritors of that guidance, the living manifestation of the Qur’an.

• To “turn back on one’s heels” is to reject divine succession and replace revelation with personal judgment.

• True gratitude (shukr) is loyalty to the divine command — unwavering adherence to the covenant of Wilāyah.

🌿 In the Light of the Awaited Imam (عج)

In the time of occultation, this verse still speaks to us:
Will we remain among the shākirīn — those who hold fast to the divine command, the covenant of Wilāyah — or will we follow the path of those who “turned back on their heels”?

Remaining loyal to the Imamate and preparing for the return of the Qāʾim al-Mahdī (عج) is the ultimate expression of gratitude and steadfastness in the face of divine tests.

🌿 Surah Āl ʿImrān – Verse 144: The Test of Steadfast Faith and Gratitude 📖 “Muhammad is but a Messenger; messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is slain, will you then turn back on your heels? He who turns back on his heels will not harm Allah…
He recognized our rights as none other did.
He reconnected the ties that were cut,
gave peace to the fearful souls, revived those nearly destroyed,
and enriched the oppressed who had been deprived.
He sought only the pleasure of the Lord of the worlds,
desiring no reward from anyone but Him.
Indeed, ‘Allah will soon reward the grateful, and He does not waste the reward of the doers of good.’”
(Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 2, p. 786; Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 49, p. 141)

📜 Insight:
Imam al-Riḍā (ع) portrays ʿAlī (ع) as the perfect servant of gratitude — one who acts purely for divine satisfaction. His shukr was not in words, but in his selfless devotion to truth, justice, and divine will.

🌿 Mawlā ʿAlī (عليه السلام) — The Qur’anic Symbol of Gratitude

Across all these narrations, the shākirīn mentioned in this verse are none other than Imam ʿAlī (ع) and his pure descendants — those who remained firm upon divine command when others turned back.

Their patience (ṣabr) in trials and their gratitude (shukr) in divine service define the true meaning of steadfast faith (thabāt).

The grateful ones are therefore not just those who thank Allah verbally —
they are those who remain loyal to Wilāyah, even when the world turns away.

🌅 Reflection for the Ummah

• To “turn back on one’s heels” is to abandon the divine covenant after the Prophet ﷺ.

• To be among the shākirīn is to remain loyal to divine succession — the path of ʿAlī and his progeny (عليهم السلام).

• Gratitude is not a word — it is a stance of faith, a refusal to compromise truth even in loneliness.

The Day God Was Pleased—and the Day the Prophet Was Martyred

🔷 The Day God Was Pleased—and the Day the Prophet Was Martyred

The verses of Tabligh (5:67) and Ikmal (5:3) illuminate the central place of the wilayah of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) within the structure of Islam.

The mission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not reach its completion merely by conveying a collection of laws and teachings. The proclamation of wilayah was the link that completed this divine mission.

The Qur’an declares:

“O Messenger! Convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord…”

(Qur’an 5:67)

And following the event of Ghadir, Allah declares:

“Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen Islam as your religion.”

(Qur’an 5:3)

Ghadir, therefore, was not merely a political or historical event. It was the moment when the structure of divine religion was completed through wilayah, ensuring that the path of guidance would continue after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Even during the final days of his life, amid illness and suffering, the Prophet ﷺ continued to strive to preserve this path and establish the wilayah of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

From this perspective, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ can be regarded as the first martyr of the path of wilayah—the Prophet who carried his mission to his final breath in defense of the true path of Islam.

His final days reveal not only the depth of his suffering, but also the magnitude of his concern for the future of the Ummah. His message was not merely about establishing a religion; it was about ensuring that divine guidance would not be abandoned after his departure.

The loneliness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his suffering, and the events surrounding his final illness remain among the most painful chapters in the history of Islam.

The Prophet completed his mission.
Ghadir completed the religion.
And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became the first martyr on the path of wilayah.

May Allah grant us the understanding and loyalty to the path of Muhammad ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
