Fleetwood Mac
π Rumors
#Rock #SoftRock #PopRock
45 years ago #UK - #USA band Fleetwood Mac released their 11th studio album Rumors, unanimously considered the highest point of their career.
When all the songs included in an album are potential n.1 hits, one can only talk about perfection, irregardless of the rock genre we like!
Rumors is the perfect (and perhaps still unrivalled) mix of Rock and Pop, it sold 10 million copies on the first month after its released and peaked the charts in all the most important countries, as did all the singles extracted.
To date this record is in the top 10 sales ever with its 45 million copies π³π
All the 11 tracks in Rumors can be considered as #FleetwoodMac milestones, in particular "Don't Stop" and "Go Your Own Way".
My favorites are "The Chain" (which I first discovered thanks to a great cover by Glam Metal band #SharkIsland) and "Gold Dust Woman".
Masterpiece Album!

π A Hard Day's Night
#Rock #PopRock #Pop
60 years ago The Beatles from Liverpool, #UK released their 3rd studio album.
A Hard Day's Night is the first #Beatles album to contain only songs written by the duo Lennon-McCartney and the first where George Harrison plays a 12-string guitar, thus popularizing instrument and sound.
Side A of the album is the #soundtrack of the film of the same name focused on the Beatlemania, starring the Fab Four themselves: it came out along with the album and both had an unprecedented commercial success!
A Hard Day's Night (film) is still considered one of the best music movies of all time and it basically influenced everything visual that came after (Musicals, TV Shows, Videoclips...).
In this album:
#JohnLennon β vocals, guitars, harmonica, piano
#PaulMcCartney β vocals, bass, piano, cowbell
#GeorgeHarrison β vocals, guitars
#RingoStarr β drums

π Smogmagica
#Rock #RockBlues #ProgressiveRock #PopRock #ProgressivePop
50 years ago Le Orme from #Venice, #Italy released their 6th studio album.
The band moved to Los Angeles, California to record Smogmagica and the entire album, both musically and lyrically, is inspired by their American experience.
Its title refers to the polluted atmosphere they encountered in the city and the cover artwork by #PaulWhitehead (designer for Genesis and Van Der Graaf Generator) is also inspired by Los Angeles.
But what makes this album unique in #LeOrme career is its guitar-driven sound, different from all other works from them: the band hired in fact wonderful guitarist Tolo Marton from #Treviso (his only appearance with Le Orme), who actively took part in the songwriting and brought in his bluesy style, even introducing elements of Country and Boogie Rock.
